    This may sound silly...

    Good advise!
  2. Not having to shop in the plus size section anymore! Having more of a selection of cute clothes (plus size is so limited)! Flying without the use of a seat belt extender. Being able to put my socks & shoes on without sitting sideways. Having a better nights sleep!

Do you feel like a failure?

If you're a failure, we're all a failure! And I'm not accepting that! I'm in the same boat as you are, had success with weight loss, & eventually put it back on. In my case (and then some). I'm tired of yo-yo diets, being upset with myself for becoming overweight! That's when I decided I'm going to finally take control of my life & do something about it! I know once I have this surgery & start seeing the weight coming off - I'm going to work harder - become more active, & be the best that I can be! Failure? There's no such thing in failure, when you know what you want... You just need to go for it!! Good luck with your surgery, & keep us posted on your progress!
  4. Update! I received the call from my cardiologist yesterday. After having an chest x-rays, electrocardiogram, sleep study, and 0% calcium score! My cardiologist gave me clearance for surgery! That's one major hurdle done! All I have left is four more doctor supervised appointments, psych appointments, and one group meeting and I'll be on my way to knowing my surgery date! Getting excited!!

    sleep study

Good to know! I haven't heard from my sleep doctor yet. They told me it would take a week to 10 days before I hear anything.
  6. Getnfit52 - Hi! Yes! I'll be having my surgery in Des Moines. Dr. Teresa LaMasters is my surgeon.

    Unjury Chicken Broth

Great! I bought a sample of Unjury chicken flavor, & I was a little skeptic about how it tastes, & if I should mix it with food? Thanks for your review! I'll have to give it a try by itself! :-)

    sleep study

Hi! I'm new to this forum. After seeing a cardiologist, he ordered me to have a sleep study. I had it last Monday. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. When I was awoken to be put on a CPAP in the night, I knew what the result would be. I'm still waiting for a call from the sleep doctor. I had the same thought about not getting a machine, that I was going to have surgery in a few months, & why would I need it? After reading all of your good points on why I should get it, you made my decision easy to decide! I'm getting a machine!
  9. I'm hoping June! I've completed two doctor supervised weight loss apps. With my last appt. being in May. My psych evaluation is set for Feb 17, & my f/u appt. is March 2nd. I still need to complete one group session. I'm scheduled for a sleep study tomorrow night, and we're currently in the middle of a winter storm. I'm hoping it will get better by morning! I live 35 miles south of Des Moines, & it's going to be a long drive in tomorrow!
  10. Hi! I'm a newby here too! Glad I found this forum! I had my first consultation on January 13, and I'm beginning my six month (Doctor supervised) weight loss program as required by my insurance company starting tomorrow... I'm so excited I have started on this journey, and I look forward to the end results! I have seen my cardiologist, who ordered a chest x-ray and two follow up tests to make sure my heart is healthy for surgery. I have my psych appts made, and have to attend one group which I'll probably do the first Saturday of next month. I started doing a food diary right after my initial consultation, and I'm already down 3 lbs. I wish I had my surgery date! But I realize - patience comes to those who wait, and it should be here before I know it! I'm well on my way to getting this surgery scheduled, and seeing a healthier me!
