Congrats and welcome to the rest of life!! Maintenance is all about enderance and dedication i🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌻🌻🌻🌻💛💛💛💛💛🦄🦄🦄🚴‍♀️
  3. I had it all done. Definitely echo check the surgeon. For me fat transfer with breast lift made sense, I did not want the upkeep. Also I had Liposuction on inner and outer thighs prior to thigh lift - it left considerable excess skin. I knew at that point I would eventually have it removed and did Would it be at the VA or in the community? Start the process then see where it leads. If VA is funding the PS out of the VA it could limit the PS choices. Finally the VA does gender reassignments and major PS for wounded service members - not exactly the same but fairly extensive. If it were I would definitely follow the trail and see where it leads.

5 years out and trying to reset

Losing regain is doable - I did it. For me Mary I need the support of the people around me Who want me to be healthy the support of people on this site who get WLS and continual reminders for myself. Stick around - some great personalities round here. I am sorry for the emotional struggles and death of your family members. Grieving is a process which impacts all our gut hormones and stress chemicals. I still log all I eat and keep to water and protein goals. Hi Crop!! Learning something new pushing comfort zone. Engage the mind and restive juices!! Refocus and formulate a plan.
  5. Pre-vacation diets!! Yes incredibly grateful for this chance to be healthy and fit! Odd I have lost weight on every single vacation since WLS thanks to the ability to be much more active

  7. One more thing switching to a different psychologist at the same clinic does not change what’s already written in your medical record. You may be able to change but the other counselor will have access to the notes if it’s in the same clinic. You are also within your rights to request a copy of your medical record which they have to provide to you unless they can prove it would be harmful to your well-being and make copies available within 30 days in the United States. I absolutely hate that the medical system is for profit in this country.
  8. I am not sure where on the spectrum you fell. The psychological role is limited to rational expectations, ability to follow steps and fair judgement you could ask the surgeon if an outside Psych could be used. It is a way the clinic mitigates liability. If the psych has no training or experience with autism then the psych is practicing outside expertise You would be well within your rights to ask that particularpsych to obtain a consultation. Failure to do so may be considered malpractice or negligence on the psych part. An argument could be made that some individuals on the spectrum would have an increased rigid adherence to the rules because of a need structure. I would not worry too much about the tearful moment - The power and balance is real and for a very brief time you saw a future you’ve worked hard to reach taken away from you. Take some breaths refocus and meet again. Having an advocate within the room is totally acceptable this is something you are contracting for and short this person is working for you to help you reach success. Try reframing it so you can take the power back and meet the requirement to be able to follow a plan. I was private pay so did not need a mental health clearance but also Emma psychologist by trade - education

Enjoy the goal for more than a fleeting moment Ms Fluffy. On the subject of cruises and all inclusive. I support endless steamed shrimp and adore those amazing cooks that will make m omelet all day with my choice of add ins. Everything else is just not worth it for me.

5 years out need advice please

Agree with all - when I want a snack or chocolate I first have 8 oz water wait 30 minutes then reevaluate If I am still thinking of it I may or may not.. usually I have moved on. I too worked off a regain in the last months. You are not alone.
  12. Agree. Then make sure they are board certified, get several consults, pour over pictures in their gallery then hold on to the end goal.

    Pain Medication

But you’re doing it sometimes one moment at a time interesting the settlements with the pharmaceuticals in the last few months
  14. Let me start by saying I would do it all over again. It’s been 2 1/2 months and it is hard for me to remember with emotion the recovery. What I can tell you is it was ugly. I know this doctor I trust this doctor the procedure has a 50 to 75% complication rate. I believe if I followed my doctor’s instructions I would be in that magical 25 to 50%. it was my third and final PS Surgury time 5.5 hours with 2.5 lbs of skin tissue removed. Plus a touch of fat not included in skin weight. I went home that day. I followed all instructions. 2 drains for about 20 days. but noticed a wound separation after 1 week. Hard to keep the groin still. I mean a person has to get up. Use the toilet and such. Urine did not help. A female can use a funnel or a female urine device... A hole opened that was 3 inches by 1.5 inches and a couple inches deep at its largest. It could not be closed with stitches or glue. Multiple MD visits and an ER visit. Packed it with saline gauze it closed at 7 weeks. It was scary I freaked. So compression gear was out because of chaffing I developed 2 areas of fluid build up and one became infected I took oral antibiotics for 8 weeks. My MD placed a small hole so that side could drain and another whole would not open along the incision. It was super uncomfortable it wasn’t painful but super uncomfortable. hot and hard an weeping It freaked me out. I missed like 6 weeks of work but did a small bit from home. Thank goodness I trusted the MD. Here is the thing - no skin hitting me when I bike or run It is pretty awesome. Nothing t rearrange. I have lost of what gained when home and on a high protein diet. My age - 46 could have placed at a higher risk. I think though mostly I was just unlucky. Now though I am pleased. Plus my health nsurance covered the ER visit.

Interesting 5’4” and 120 lbs? I hit my low at 120 md it is a bit too low for me Not sure what you think. On another note wine 🥂🍷🍸🥃🍷🍷🍷🥂🍹🍾🍾🍾🍹 when I drink I retain at least a few lbs for close to a week. I do not drink often but for me my body holds on! Some wines and clear spirits have a lower sugar level but I need to stay on a program for life. So all my pain can not be champagne. 🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁☹️

Great questions HealthyLife. I too am not willing to buy more clothes the difference between the low part of my window and the upper is is huge. Lower end i am pretty thin and the upper is a bit curvy. I hav some body perception mess and rarely feel thin so I stic with numbers and clothe fit to counter. Not an athlete but love n active life. Not a model though did a touch many moons ago. Just a mom a wife and a average 40 something still trying to maximum enjoy life.
  19. Anyone iron deficient? I have been a bit chilled since before WLS? I alternatively attributed it to anemic or a sympathetic neurological disorder usually depending on my MD Most likely it is the latter but since I don’t like any of the treatments I live with that. - it is almost like a low grade pain and at time penetrates into my core Sweaters do not really help but getting any moving air off my skin does. Hyper sensitivity to sensations
  20. I tolerate most things but some food sort of grossed me out Meats mostly.
  21. I have wondered about this vitamin question I have taken B12, calcium and a multi from Bariatric advantage for almost 5 years.

I weigh most days and plus have to fit into my clothes. I too use a 10 lbs window with 125 lbs my happy place. I was up over the summer but am back in the window. My scale always is kind to provide a fat percentage. About 18-20 percent.

TMI Alert. Before my LBL there was too much excess skin for easy intercourse. Something folded or bunched or just got in the way. It was better after LBL The inner thigh work though returned intimacy to the magical level.
