Welcome! Good luck on this journey. I'm always up to chatting. It seems to be the only thing I want to talk about lately! Lol. I'm still pre-op.

I agree with you. Keep calling. I was told 10 days ago I was finally approved for sleep study (surgeon requires ruling out sleep Apnea but insurance had declined to cover). Now insurance has finally approved home sleep study only but surgeon office had to "find someone who does home sleep study". Still no word. I like getting stuff checked off my list and I am trying to be patient but if I was as close as you I would probably be calling even more often!

It happens. I had all my pre-op tests done on Feb 4th. My PCP had my chest xray, EKG, and bloodwork faxed to my surgeons office Feb 5th...after faxing these tests FOUR additional times to the surgeons office, they finally "have everything" to send to my insurance. It has been absolutely ridiculous... I'm giving them a call tomorrow to check for a 5th time if they really have everything. Be annoying as much as you need to be... This is your surgery, not theirs.

Dont be afraid of being annoying. It is so easy to get lost in the shuffle at both the doctors offices and insurance companies.
It happened to me at my doctors office. The nurse who processes the paperwork went on vacation for 3 weeks and left my completed file somewhere before submitting it. Unfortunately I was not calling to check and 3 weeks went by with no answer. When I called the surgeons office I that nurse had just returned and apologized to me for the delay. I think I cried for 2 hours because now I had another wait for the insurance company. I had already been waiting for 9 months!
The good news is, my insurance company took less than 24 hours to approve me and I was well on my way.
    Stay on it!

Coastalchick, I don't know about you, but I do spend hours at the gym and exercising at home (as I did pre-op). I have also modified my behavior as I think all of us have had to do post-op. My eating habits were excellent, my doctors were pleased. Yet, I was morbidly obese. I tried it the "hard" way. If it works for them, great. It didn't work for me, no matter how much I tried. I had a gastric bypass. I'm still waiting for the easy part. I don't think that having to make sure I get enough Protein in everyday is the easy way. Not when I have to have 60 grams and I can only hold 2 ounces three times a day
