    Any April Sleevers?

Just got my surgery date! April 6th!!!!

    Cash pay?

I'm in El Paso Texas with a bariatric center of excellence. Dr. Lara with Del Sol. I'm cash paying at $10,500. There is a Mexico option that is like 30 miles from my house in Juarez Mexico that they said their price is $6,800. Even though I have checked out all the credentials with the doc in Jtown, I'm staying state side because it's 3 days in Jtown and I would have no one to watch my kiddos. I'm also insanely picky about doctors and I have already met Dr. Lara and really liked him.

    Payment

My doctor, dr. Lara here in El Paso Texas is $10,500. It is a bariatric center of excellence. Del Sol bariatric center if you want to Google him. I'm self pay and get my surgery date on Wednesday. You can email me at dilligaf1983@gmail.com if you want.

Any 'self pay' sleevers out there?

Self pay in El Paso Texas with Dr. Lara, he's wonderful. $10,500 including follow ups for 18 months.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas?

Thanks @@Teebaby I hope all goes smoothly with your approval. My situation is unfortunate but I am fortunate to be able to pay on my own for the most part. My same surgeon's rate is $10,500 flat rate. If I were to head to Mexico theirs was like $6,800 and their hospital is like 30 miles from my house. I'm staying with my surgeon because I'm really insanely picky about doctors and I'm comfortable with him. If I were to head to Mexico I also would not have anyone to watch my kids while I was there. So that also played a factor.

    My Texas Sleevers

El paso here. Looking for people to text and maybe get together with! We travel to Dallas frequently but live in EP. Dilligaf1983@gmail.com
  8. It states yes on the Internet on our policy and excludes it on our explanation of benefits.
  9. Yup we called bcbs ourselves. I don't know if it has to do with the fact that we have a ppo. We are self employed and pay everything on out of our own pocket. This just sucks. Thanks though. Luckily I can still get it but it sucks to have to pay it all out of pocket.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas?

I should add we are self employed and our insurance is bcbs but private. Ppo. $800 a month for the highest package they offer and it's excluded. :/

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas?

I have bcbstx and after doing everything required I was denied and they told me it not only wasn't on my specific policy but it doesn't get approved in the state of texas. I am now self pay. I'm so pissed. My bmi is over 40 with co-morbidities and they told me too bad so sad. Bcbs can't find of course any of the calls from when my surgeon's office called to verify.
  12. I'm self pay in Texas. I'm choosing state side even though the Mexico hospital is maybe 30 miles from my house. The difference in price is about 4k. It's $10,500 for my doctor including checkups for the next year and a half. I'm going to take my deposit tomorrow.

    I'm one board

Welcome! Good luck on this journey. I'm always up to chatting. It seems to be the only thing I want to talk about lately! Lol. I'm still pre-op.
  14. We spoke to bcbstx and they will not approve me under any circumstances bc it is not a covered benefit. Went through the psych eval UGI and all my clearances and got denied. Even though the surgeons office called to confirm it was a benefit in feb. Can't appeal as bcbs told us the won't accept an appeal at all. Soooo here I go self pay. Taking my down payment tomorrow. This sucks. What the heck am I paying $800 a month to bcbs for then?

    Pre-op today

My letter of medical necessity was sent just yesterday. I'm waiting on approval from the insurance now. I have a tonsillectomy next week and I was hoping to do my 2 week liquid diet at that time. Kinda cheat the system you know? Lol.
