    Day Ten

I was 11 days out, had a boneless chicken thigh with fat free gravy last night, I had to try as liquid fiid is getting me down. I had no issues with the chicken at all so I had another today for lunch. Tonight I'm trying lemon pepper baked cod, I'm 12 days right now

unjury has been the best for me, doesn't have that protien flavor like the others I've tried

    Day 11

My advice is sugar free freeze pops, taste really bad for you but are just frozen fluids, I started them yesterday and they taste so sweet and flavorful but they are also good for me, cravings just go away
  4. Thanks guys,i really am enjoying every part of this experience from the healthy eating to the body changes and I have a new energy that I've not had for years. It's all you guys that got me to this point, reading peoples experiences on here which made me super determined to get this right Thanks guys, massive confidence boost right there

    Low carb bread and pasta

Thank you for pointing this out, this seems to be a really great alternative. one thing i really miss is rice as i love indian curry, this should compliment that really well. Thanks
  6. Since i had my sleeve done on June 2nd i have not had one bit of heartburn or acid at all. Before surgery i was having episodes everyday quite sever that felt like heart attacks with pains in the left arm and so on. i dunno maybe its just because its so soon but ive ate all kinds of spicy GERD triggering soups and have been fine. I was told it would likely get worse but its gone for now at least

    1 day after

It took 4 days to pass all my gas, i did nothing but burp. walking is the best thing and peppermint tea also works wonders
  8. And i feel great, came back to work yesterday as i have a desk job so nothing to strenuous, when i got home from the hospital i was 296lbs, and in only 1 week im 277lbs as of this morning, im so happy and really motivated, June 2nd was an awesome day!

    Day Five...hunger

Yup same here, went and bought soups and Indian curry, soon fixed that problem
  10. This makes the liquids so much easier, currently I'm eating a bowl of hot spicy Madras and it tastes wonderful! All I did was strain and ad just over half a cup of fat free milk Also had korma, and rogan josh This will make this full liquids a breeze!
  11. Oh wow tortilla soup I love that! I'll grab some tomorrow, I had French onion last night and it was great. Earlier today I had poblano and queso soup and that was also awesome. So many things you can have if you just strain the lumpy stuff! This kind of thing motivates me no end and on top of that I've lost 15lbs in my 1st 5 days, 28lbs in total including pre op, this is going to be a breeze

How soon can I move around?

I was up walking witihin an hour of coming out of recovery which was tuesday june 2nd, today i spent mostly the whole day outside and got in a couple of hours walk today alone. Not drove yet though
  13. Had my sleeve done today by Dr Teel at Miami valley hospital in Dayton OH. Let me just say how wonderful this experience has been, I was mentally ready for this and that's what has helped me through. Had my surgery at 7:45am, surgery complete at 8:30, spent one hour in OR, within another hour I was on my feet walking the halls and have done all day. They use foot markers here with signs every 25 feet, well because i feel so good after my surgery I have walked over 2000 feet, I'm really happy, I have no pain from the surgery just some gas discomfort. If anyone is worrying about this surgery then please don't. My advice is get mentally prepared, do your research and once its done get on your feet. I'm doing so well that at 5pm they changed my diet to full liquids instead of tomorrow, still here for the night but will go home knowing this was the right thing and a great experience so far

    Day 4 of post op

I felt like this last night and it was Gas. Get yourself some peppermint teabags and drink that, its amazing how that gets rid of the gas, today i feel great with most of my gas gone, also your muscle relaxers are your bestfriend when feeling rough, they mellow you out
  15. This was about 15 mins before i was taken in to the operating room, all happy and silly and everyone laughing at my smiley face cap lol
  16. im on my 3rd day since the op, i got released the day after my op on Wednesday, i was great until i was the passenger in a car to get home, that night my gas pains was awful, had to sleep in a recliner. My advice if this happens to you is take your muscle relaxer, it really helps with the gas pains and makes you very mellow. Get some Gas X disolveable strips (they really do work, but dont take more than 8 in 24 hours i took 3 at once my night of pain and it worked). Get some peppermint tea, buy it now before your op, peppermint is fantastic at getting rid of gas, i hate tea of any kind but i would have drank engine oil if it gave me the same relief the pepper mint tea did. Keep taking your pain meds, today i need 3 of the possible 6 allowed. and again walk as said this is the 3rd day since my surgery and today i have walked after each shake or meal if only for 10 minutes each time, you do that 4-5 times a day thats almost an hour of exercise and it really is great for dissipating the gas. Today i feel no gas pains, if i get a twinge i stand up or sit forward and that solves it, my incisions do not hurt neither. Another good tip when you have gas pains is where the velcro body brace they give you, will support you when you feel weak. Today i had tomato Soup with fat free milk and it tasted like heaven lol basically 1 can is going to be 5 meals for me so eating is cheap. unjury Protien powder in my opinion is the best tasting ive had and ive tried a few, mix the chocolate with almond milk and it tastes like store bought chocolate milk except its got almost 30 grams of protien in one shake, thats half to a third of your daily need Last night when i went to sleep i weighed 296lbs, this morning i was 289lbs, i know a lot of that was due to bloating and fluids but still it put a huge smile on my face knowing that in under 3 weeks iver gone from 309.5 when i started the pre op diet to 289 today, its a good feeling i will update here every couple of days, ill make it like a small journal just in case you want to pop in and see where im up to and you can tell me your experiences. Its good to talk to others going through the same process as they truly understand.. And good luck @ im 100% sure you will be fine, sounds stupid but enjoy this life changing moment
  17. I'm sure you will bounce back fast, I've just been for another 20 minute walk and it makes me feel so much better so please make sure you get on your feet as its a major benefit. My girlfriend is also having he same surgery and she is just waiting on her date. She to was anxious and nervous but seeing me today has pit her totally at ease. Good luck with your sleeve and enjor your journey Dan
  18. Im on the Breakfast Essentials no sugar added 3 times per day with 1% milk and 2 Cafe steamers a day for my 2 week pre op diet, i have lost 13.5lbs in 8 days
  19. Hey all, 1st time posting but have been lurking for a few weeks. This place has made me feel so much better about making this decision, so many great people on here that are so supportive. I only need to have my Psychiatrist visit which is the is Wed Jan 21st then its in the hands of the insurance company, hopefully it wont be any issue as i`m a 38 year old with heart disease, sleep apnea and a spine fusion. I was worried that people would think i was taking the easy way out doing this, being lazy and not willing to put in the effort needed to lose weight. But its not that, ive got to the size i am which is my fault but im now at the point where due to my back and knees i cant exercise like i need to due to the weight. I`m ready for a new life, i want to live and thats my motivation. I`m hoping for an end of Feb appointment with Dr Donovan Teel at Miami Valley Hospital. Fingers crossed and cant wait to share what i will make my success story! Dan
  20. Finally got a date for my surgery, June 2nd is the big day.
