  1. Wish I had taken longer. I took 2 weeks and have been so tired and exhausted after just going back part time. I'm getting the cold shoulder from some of my coworkers because it was considered elective. I'm still glad I did it for me though. The worst that could happen is getting the cold shoulder at your work, and they will get over it soon. You have to look at it as doing this for your health, elective or not. I say don't feel guilty, treat yourself first!

  2. I'm only 16 days out but already been on a stall for 5 days, even gained a pound. I lost 18 the first week and a half, then haven't lost anymore. I'm following the rules, but getting concerned. This is much easier to follow when you can see you're losing weight. I know everyone says you shouldn't weigh everyday but when I was losing, it gave me such inspiration. Feeling blue today and want sweets, but won't do it...

  3. I've been afraid of feeling that regret, but as of two weeks today, I'm still glad I made the decision to have the sleeve. I'm feeling much better now, watching the scales decrease, and feel better knowing I am getting healthy. I realize for the first time I'm eating to live, instead of living to eat. Just knowing I've done this to take care of myself seems to put my mind at ease.

  4. I'm 12 days post-op, and wanted you to know surgery was not bad. I had absolutely no nausea afterwards. They put Zofran in my iv and I was fine. I was driving and going out in a week. I've not had to take anything for nausea since I've been home either. You'll be fine! Keep us posted. 17 lbs gone in 10 days for me...

  5. My Dr recommended the bypass for me too due to Gerd. I still opted for the sleeve because of dumping syndrome with the bypass. I'm 10 days out and happy so far with my decision. I'm on nexium 40mg, as I was prior to surgery. Citric acid bothers me a little more than it did prior. I think I may have to continue on the ppi and once I lose the weight, may be OK without it. I'm happy with my decision to be sleeved! Already down 16 lbs too

Forgot to mention I also had a hernia repair which may also help with the Gerd

  6. I know this has been a very addressed discussion, however, I started my pureed phase yesterday, and can't seem to get enough liquids in now. If I make myself drink too much, I feel I will get sick. I've had a few Popsicles and am sipping as much as I can make myself. When this happened to any of you, did you revert to all fluids, supplement with G2 Gatorade, pedialite? Any suggestions...

  7. My husband was sleeved 10 months ago. He was experiencing a lot of hip pain prior to surgery. We thought that losing the weight would answer his problems with his hip pain, but in fact it did make the hip pain worse. He ended up having a hip replacement 4 mos ago. For whatever reason, maybe for a different forum, he is still experiencing hip pain.

  8. I'm on day 4 and feeling kinda down today grieving food. The whole Water and Protein intake thing is a little overwhelming. I am paranoid of getting dehydrated. Mine has gone pretty smooth so far, but then I come on here and read about a lot of the problems people have down the road too, and get scared. I'm mainly concentrating on healing my body right now and trying to keep my mind quiet too.
