  1. I'm a month out now, and like you I did a lot of research pre and post op. Over nutrition, exercise, people's experiences, etc. 1) I would absolutely commit to doing this again. Personally I experienced pain from the gas in abdominal cavity after surgery only for a day and a half. It was incredible intense and bad, and thankful very short lived. Only the day of surgery did my stomach reject Water, just like the first week I started to introduced carbs in. My stomach is very clear when it isn't happy, but if I eased back and gave it even a few days it would be fine personally. My incisions are even fully healed over. 2) I was not expecting the swings in energy. If I am getting everything I need, I'm like an energizer bunny. I can go jog a few miles and be sad I'm holding myself back. And really love it, which I never thought anything like that would be my thing. Reversely if I don't get what I need. Skip a meal on accident. Had trouble with a shake (look up tons of recipes now), or have to adjust my intake. I pretty quickly feel it. It's not hunger, it's more my energy levels will plummet if I don't follow my schedule. And then I'm now where near as motivated to go do stuff. Overall, it's your body and you will figure out what's the best for it. You might react completely different.
  2. Hello Everyone, It's officially one month post-op for me and I am down 24 pounds from surgery (72 lbs in total when including what I lost before.) I'm looking for a general opinion. I'm in my very early twenties, and constantly running around school, to then do about 3 miles at the gym (sometimes more or less it's subjective), and then go home to complete homework. This exercise has been approved for me. I let my diet slip into the lower range of calories (around 600 calories, with 300 being burned off at the gym) and with how much I was going to the gym I became very sick. I bumped up what I have been taking in, adding a little more calories to my shakes, getting fuller calorie sports drinks, a little more carbs in my 1/4 cup of food. Honestly I instantly began to perk up; the feeling of being lightheaded constantly, faded. I also saw my weight begin to drop again, as it had stalled out for a few days. Now I'm around 1,000 calories, 64ish oz of liquids, at least 60 grams of Protein, plus the 3 miles/45 minutes or so at the gym. And soon with the addition of weight lifting when I'm cleared. Has anyone else experience this pattern in their diet? Does anyone else feel like they could do a whole lot more exercise? I feel really held back at the moment by my routine but I don't want to over extend myself. Sorry about the amount of writing, thanks for any advice.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

I had to pull out all of my old smaller clothes from when I was a teenager because my clothes are falling off. I can fit in the student desk with the table attached to the front and it doesn't even come close to touching me. I think by April I will be ready to run with my friend my second 5K, and this time fully run it.
  4. I weigh almost every day, sometimes more than once, and I do it a random times as well. If for nothing else it lets me see a pattern. Do I retrain Water at certain times? Am I dehydrated after working out? You can actually calculate how much water you have lost and how much liquid you need to replace from your weight. Is my weight different at night or day? It's more scientific curiosity than anything else as well as when I see it go up for any reason (or down for that matter). I can then look back at amassed data and quickly figure out what exactly has happened from previous examples.

    2014 Sleevers

I'm not sure what your surgeon will say but mine at least said that it was natural to now start experiencing the pretty rapid decrease in appetite. I've become virtually disinterested in more than a nibble of food but I eat my 1/4 cup anyway since I know I need too. As for discomfort, I'd ask your doctor, it could be multiple things. For me I occasionally have it in the morning which I was told is fine. Otherwise you might be eating too much, or something that disagrees with you. Or it is something entirely else. I only hit a short stall, and I think it was because I wasn't getting enough calories, but I run/jog a couple miles a day. Are you/have you been cleared to exercise? You really won't see weight falling off if you don't.
