Ahhh...Ben and Jerry...my ex boyfriends. I spent many a Saturday night having a three some with them. usually New York Super Fudge Chunk or Everything But The (my two favorite flavors). Haagen Dazs Rocky Road is also on that list...chocolate with big nuts. Ok I'm going to stop now.

I really enjoyed the double stuffed cookie and fuzzy navel ones. They are definitely helping me cope.

I remember being in college and eating a whole dozen of krispy kremes in a matter of hours. Talk about instant diabetes...- Did they really take half my tummy?
I'm 6 days out and feel the same way!- Six days post op and protein shakes are killing me
I'm in the same boat ????- Low BMI-ers
Usually nothing. Most insurance goes by the weight documented when your paperwork is submitted for approval, not your weight the day of surgery. However, I'd double check with your program just to make sure.- Best piece of advice you have! I'm a day away from Gastric Sleeve surgery.
I had a list of requirements that I had to meet in order to be discharged the day of surgery. They were: - Walk walk walk (and the nurses say something about it but I don't think most of them force you to do it...don't sleep the evening away! Get up and walk!) - Drink 8oz of Water - Be able to urinate on your own - Not experiencing excessive nausea/vomiting/pain - Use spirometer Initially, I was able to meet all the requirements except being able to urinate. At 8pm, I had drank 16oz of water, but still wasn't able to "go", even while running water while trying to pee. Even telling myself "Lexie, they're going to give you a catheter if you don't go" didn't work. Apparently there was some mental block keeping me from being able to pee. I figured this out around 9:45pm, and decided to take my phone and headphones into the bathroom (no judgement) and listened to some music to relax. 2 minutes later, I was able to pee! a\All requirements were met and they discharged me from the hospital. I didn't want to stay overnight and I REALLY didn't want a catheter. Moral of the story - if peeing is one of your requirements and you're not able to go, do WHATEVER you need to do in order to relax.- What's the first food you cheated with after Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
5 days post op. I had a few slivers of freshly shaved parmesan cheese. Chewed it as much as I could. It was delish and didn't cause me any issues. I am so tired of the Protein shakes and flavored Water- Follow up appt after surgery/Staples?
I have staples too. Will be so glad when they come out- Post op day 3
I had this pain day 2 and 3. Someone recommended raising your hands above your head when you feel this sensation. Its helped me...- Did anyone loose weight on their pre-op diet
11 pounds in 14 days.- Pre Op Diet..Ughhh! This sucks!
Can you have broth and sugar free popsicles? Those may help...also are you making your drinks with water or milk?- Pre Op Diet..Ughhh! This sucks!
I know the feeling. What kind of pre op diet are you on?- Liver Reduction Diet... SUCKS.
I'm on the liquid diet and I say it sucks donkey ass! I'm not experiencing true hunger, For the most part it's head hunger. Last night I did go too long between shakes though and I threw a temper tantrum! I'm laughing about it today but last night I was REALLY upset about not having French fries. So you are not alone ☺- Looking for a buddy with lower pre op BMI
I'd love to be a part of a "low bmi" group!- Insurance approved today! Set for May 21st! Anyone else?
I'm May 21 also. Can't wait for this damn liquid diet to be over!!!- Looking for a buddy with lower pre op BMI
I'm low BMI also. BMI is a 37.5 but I have comorbidities (HBP, sleep apnea, GERD, joint pain) and im also hypothyroid. My family and friends have given me a slew of "you're not big enough" comments. Im tired of losing and regaining plus id love for my comorbidities to go away after surgery.- Pre-op diet is a b***h
Yep, pre op diet sucks. Here's my good, bad, and ugly: The good - I haven't experienced true hunger, just head hunger. And I've been on the diet 4 days and have lost 6 pounds so far. The bad - the head hunger sucks. I am dodging people and food. I miss my normal weekend meals involving food, drinks, and friends! The ugly - I've had bad gas since I've been on the pre op diet. Thankfully I live alone!- May Sleevers...where are you?
I'm May 21 also!- Good bye, my love
LOL! You're a great writer. Thanks for sharing, it definitely made me laugh. Not at you, of course. - What was your past slob memory
