Looking for my June 1 buddy's ?
bvenegas replied to bvenegas's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had the worse gas pain at top of my stomach it feels like they dropped a bowling ball on me. What's helped a little is walking, after I walk I start vomiting but I don't throw up food instead the vomiting causes me to burp. Also nausea meds but they only help like the first hr. -

Looking for my June 1 buddy's ?

Yes, the shakes gave me nausea the first two days. Try a different shake. My favorite are the chocolate coco premier but after week one I was able to tolerate the doctor recommended Bariatric shakes. I hope this helps. -
I have an awesome post but I'm looking to share and receive this journey with other June 1st sleevers. How's your pre liquid diet coming along? For me it varies, sometime through out the day it's easier then it might get harder. I think the hard part is when I start cooking dinner and my mouth starts to water. After i doing some chores I just don't have any energy for the rest of the day. Starting weight 285, current weight 260/259 couldn't tell on scale.

Oops, wrong forum -
I too was obsessed! We're all on the same boat so you're on the right website. Great support here and my advise: start putting into practise most of the information your nutritionist offers you. It will be easier in the long run. My sleeve date is on Monday 6/1 it's been a heck of a rollercoaster. Good luck!

On Pre-Op liquid diet, seems to be going ok...
bvenegas replied to NCTRNL's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm on day 7 of my all liquid preop, scheduled for surgery 6/1. Diet has been good but mentally hard but I've kept going. An extra treat I found is taking the calcium chewies they are like eating candy, sugar free. Plus it's a supplement that you should b taking. I bought my bag at costco, 12$. -
Homemade broths - planning ahead
bvenegas replied to Engteacher's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Currently on day 7 of preop diet all liquids, mental hard but not as bad as I thought. Here's an easy broth recipe. Boil 3 cups of water with 1/2 onion for 10-15 min. Then, chop 2 carrots, 2 celery sticks, 1 small zuquiny and throw into pot. Add 1st all poon full of chicken stock powder, leave covered for 10 min. Then add 3-5 leafs of bok Choi and a slice of jalapeño for a kicker. Leave covered and turn off for another 10 min. Enjoy! -

Started my Preop Diet...
bvenegas replied to MarceMonster's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Day 2 of my all liquid only preop diet, surgery on June 1st. Day 1 wasn't too bad but I did get nausea from shakes, I just got grossed out. I can only drink shakes, 1 cup of broath, and jello. So enjoy each bit of your protein for those of you who get 1 meal per day. Today was a little harder, like when I was making dinner. I'm staying strong but craved food. I also got a light headache earlier but no biggy. My only concern is I'm going with my daughter and her class to an amusement park tomorrow, so I hope it goes well tomorrow. Crossing my fingers! -

VSG_Hopeful I have BCBC of California HMO NoMoBand Jake, you are awesome! Thanks for those kinds words. I agree everything happens for a reason and I'm just trying to stay positive. Hey, I'm scheduled, so I'm on my way. I'm still a May Sleever at heart, so this is where I belong. I'm taking everyone's feedback for when it's my turn. Good luck everyone! -
Yes cry but dont give up! I also am rejected but due to an error (which is being corrected) I have to stay positive that it will go through. I tell my self there is no other choice. We'll be fine one way or another. this is just a set back. Once we are sleeved it will have that much more meaning becuase of the struggles just like anything else.

May Sleevers...where are you?
bvenegas replied to bvenegas's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First, CONGRATS to all newly sleeved!!! how exciting!!!!! Wow my journey is still a rollercoaster, I've been waiting 2 full weeks for my approval and they rejected it. I did all my requirements including 6 weight checks, but insurance is counting weight checks as 5 months instead of the required 6 months. Apparently one month is from first weight check until the second weight check, so i have my final weight check next week 5/15. All other paperwork looked great, so insurance stated they will approve after 5/15. Because of the positive feedback the coordinator has scheduled me with a surgery date of June 1st. This all happened yesterday (on my bday), i cried when insurance gave me the bad news, but the coordinator then brought me back up with pre scheduling me. I've had so many setbacks, First, i was told my ins required 3 months so I originally finished all requirements in january and even submitted all paperowork. Apparently, the insurance changed their req as on 2015 from 3 months to 6 mths and I was the lucky one to feel this change before anyone. There I go trying to stay positive after feeling devastated but i continued, so after yesterday's bad news I was in shock and went num. after coordinator scheduled me, i felt like this surgery will happen for me. I have to stay positive, there is no option. My apologies for the rant.... -

So far I've lost 15 pounds during this 6 month journey and have already experienced hair loss. I'm concerned it will get worse after surgery. Anyone going through same thing? -

So excited to see so many new May sleeves since we're down to our last month. I was MIA for two wks but I'm back and stayed on track with my eating. Definitely need to push myself to exercise more before surgery.
