  1. God bless you! Its going to be great! Our stats are VERY similar I go on 2/24.
  2. There are several great links in this thread that explain what a bougie is, a few pages back maybe.
  3. I am still pre op and I find the shakes a bit too sweet, depending on the flavor I cut it up to 1/2 of the scoop with the unflavored. I am using the Unjury and I find them all VERY good, just too sweet full strength.
  4. fabulous80 hope you are doing well!!! I see that yesterday was your day, congrats
  5. I just bought it also, can not wait to read it, thanks!
  6. Hey everybody! So I had my hospital pre op today and also the pre op with my surgeon. AND the bougie size he uses is...................................(drumroll) 40f I feel really good about this and thank you to all who helped me and contributed here xo
  7. what water drink mix with caffeine? I am very worried about caffeine withdrawal. I think I better start to wean off pretty soon.!!
  8. This is by no means MY idea but I am hoping it is one that will work out for me once I get to puree and mushies. So I am freezing some chopped up chicken in gravy, green Beans, mashed potato and mashed rutabaga in little ice cube trays. Hoping they will pop out intact once frozen and I can put them into ziplock bags for grabbing one at a time as needed. If they pop out well I may do this with some other things before I start pre op diet in 1 week. I want to have no excuses and as little worry as possible in the first few weeks/months.
  9. Thank you, proudgrammy! XO
  10. Don't listen, they are wrong!!! You are going to be so very proud of yourself when you do all it takes to change your life and your sense of self worth, only YOU can prove them wrong.
  11. Oh Jen that leak test sounds awful. How much did you have to drink?? Glad you are home & doing well!
  12. Thank you, I had seem the other links that were posted and they were extremely informative. I had not seen the one you posted and it too was super helpful, not as worried about the size now but of course I am still going to ask. I will post back when I know. Happy Sunday everybody
  13. Good for you!! You are through the worst of it hopefully!! I am trying to stock up on as much variety as the program will allow, I have also dedicated a small area in the kitchen cabinets for ONLY my things, I have gotten a bunch of cute tiny containers, small Water bottles, dishes, etc that I will enjoy using vs a huge glass or plate after surgery. If I can figure out how to do a you tube video I am going to start doing that to try to help, inspire, inform others. Watching these videos that others have made has been so inspiring for me.
  14. Yes sooo true! No one has said anything rude to my face but my hubs told 2 of the ladies where he works (who know me and I am friendly with. I really wish he hadn't) But anyhow they said "she should really try to loose weight in other ways first!!" DUH I cant believe I never thought of that!! lol
  15. Yes sophieteel and newlife LETS DO keep in touch, please send me a message anytime, I will always love to chat, vent and support
  16. Thank you! Based on what little I know so far, I could live with 40f
  17. Thanks, I like this!!
  18. So you have had little to no reflux issues with the 36?
  19. This place has been wonderful for me toooo!
  20. Please call your surgeon? Having excessive vomiting 5 days after the new sleeve was formed is a really good reason to call. Feel better asap.
  21. Yep I agree, I know my surgeon does many successful surgeries and I have a feeling he wont be extreme one way or the other. Im sure I will feel better after we talk about it tuesday.
  22. it seems like it is both. I would think if a surgeon uses a small bougie but does NOT actually use it as a template or guide then doesn't that leave a lot to chance as far as the size pouch we wind up with?? I am confused too.
  23. YES crossing my legs not being the largest person in my entire family not having to worry about the chairs I sit in (hearing that familiar sound of wood under stress) not worrying that I have irreparably SQUASHED someones couch cushions I want to parasail & zipline, I would never do it at this size giving myself a pedicure and actually being able to breathe climbing the stairs with out getting winded not having to JUDGE every space I need to fit thru because I don't want to be embarrassed having just ONE chin and looking cute in new CLOTHES!
  24. R Rustynail, I consulted with dr Greco but dr Reich is doing my surgery at SOCH 2/24. I am sorry to hear you have had such a hard time of it, glad you didn't have any serious dehydration issues!! Do you know what size bougie was used for your surgery?
