HappyVegan got a reaction from Ms. Brightside in Prescribed vegan diet
I started a vegan lifestyle as soon as i got my surgery. Did not told this to my surgeon. I know he wouldn't approved. It has been a little difficult to keep a good balance.
    So far i have learn:
EAT YOUR GREENS...at least 5 times a week!! at least 2 cups of kale or spinach or some other leafy greens take a vegan Vitamin supplement, I use Deva Tiny Tablets No isolated oils... I use nut butters, and all sort of seeds and nuts. But totally avoid as much as i can isolated oils. The only one i may use 1 time a week is the coconut oil. eat whole grains, oats, brown rice, whole wheat you name it! every day!! fall in luv with all types of potatoes, sweets, yams etc.... I have no limits and eat them as much as i can. I use only organic soy milk!! it has lots of Protein... no problem with fruits and veggies... eat them with freedom no process sugars... instead I mixed some stevia with unprocess brown sugar and use that instead, to use less sugar as possible. But also use lots of dates instead. follow Dr. Gregers Daily Dozen app! this will safe your life! dont be afraid of carbs ... they are your friends just keep it whole food, low or no oil or process sugars. and stay away from process vegan food.. is full with additives, salt, sugars and oils. follow all this and every thing will be great.

    Hi dears,
I been a vegan since my surgery... i was a vegetarian for a long time, and after vsg i decided to start a new life, what help me:
the most was finding a surgeon specialist in bariatric that recommends veganism to his patients, Dr. Garth Davis, i found some youtube audios and interviews that really help me a lot, and his fb page too. I also realize that if im trying to take my fat out, i cant have more fat in.. so im doing a low fat vegan menu, with great results legumes, fruits and veggies with no ad-don fats, oils or seeds for the moment till im closer to my goal. Ahh a great thing about my new vegan nutrition is that i havent get any gastric problems, no nausea, no pain, no vomit ... have a great day!!

    Hi!
It has been a great journey and still is... Has taken me a long time to get this plant based thing... lots of ups and downs.... but just like the sleeve ... there are no regrets
Just follow whatever feels good for your body... But remember sometimes the detox process of the beginning is really hard... but it does not means is not working or is not good.

Its not just recommending it but I've seen all of them in this area be like NO. I'm like, how is it that people who eat vegan/vegetarian survive without meat? So how can you without any shred of evidence for (and lots of it against) claim that you have to eat meat? I can manage chicken at times and right now turkey. I'm still alive. Apparently some with healthcare degrees need to read.
Dr. Garth Davis is the bomb. I have problems with meat, told to knock it off, so I did and found other ways to get Protein in. That includes other things making it hard on top of that. So the problem is in someones' head and it doggone sure isn't mine. I've seen more veg people and they're all doing fine.
