I no longer like meat...I can eat fish and fruits and veggies. I drink lots of Protein Shakes and lots of flavored water. I am 3 lbs from my goal weight. Then once I hit my goal weight and maintain for 3 months then it is body reconstruction surgery.

Dr. Wallace will be performing my surgery on 2/24...I have so many questions if you do not mind. Do I need to know anything about Pre-Op and Post Op that wish someone would have shared with you? How long did it take for you to lose your first 50lbs? I am currently 5'7 265lbs and BMW of 41. How long did it take for you to recover to where you were able to continue an exercise regimen? I am trying to minimize any excess skin That may occur.

Hello everyone. ..had my surgery on 2/24...weighed 241....currently 228lbs...12 days out. Vomited twice because I ate too much. Completely learned my lesson. This crushed pill thing is the pitts. I am definitely getting my Water n food in when I try. I don't always eat the complete amount called for but I eat something. My incisions seem to be healing well although they still hurt from time to time and the Tylenol does nothing for it. My treadmill somehow wad broken 1 wk before surgery and my husband just ordered the part..it should be here this upcoming week? I've walked around my block several times felt a little dizzy, so I doing it in moderation. I truly hope this pureed food thing ends after tomorrow. I have my first Post Op appt. with my Dr. I cannot wait. Oh one of my favorite things to drink is chicken Broth.....love love love it...before surgery I would have never thought to drink just plain broth.< /p>

moyebrady reacted to sleevie.wonder in Today is my One Year Survigersary! My story & pics @ 135 lbs lost so far.
(sorry about the atrocious typo in the title >.<. "SURGIVERSARY"!)
I'm sitting her reminiscing about my surgery day. I remember so clearly the emotions that I was feeling. I was not scared in the least. I was so READY. I did have a bit of anxiety, as anyone who is about to go under the knife would have, but was never scared. Waking up from the surgery was one of the biggest sighs of relief that I have ever taken. It's over with! I'm alive! Yeah I feel like crap, but I "feel" AMAZING! I only had to stay one night in the hospital.
Recovery after surgery was typical. I took 3 weeks off of work which I felt every day was needed. Pain was manageable and I didn't take any pain meds at home. I also never threw up, and still have not thrown up once since surgery.
I followed all of the stages to a 'T'. It took six months to lose 100 lbs.
I've had the best, most ideal experience with the sleeve and I am so thankful for that. As of today, one year out, I am down 135 lbs. I am smaller then I was in high school by about 40-50 lbs. I think I was this weight in elementary school, no joke.
I have been at this weight since November, though. I've been maintaining around 3 months, which is fine.
I do want to mention that I lost a lot of hair. At least half of what I had is gone. Seems like more but probably not. So now I have very thin, fine hair. I'm ok with it though, as it is already growing back. I feel like I look like Elvira at the moment because all the new stuff sticks straight up. I have to hairspray it back down lol. I still lose a little in the shower, but as far as losing hair by the handfulls, that part is over.
I do have lose skin. It isn't terrible, but very noticeable. I look good with clothes on and that's it. My next goal is to start working on toning, to see if it makes any difference.
I'm happy to answer any questions anyone may have.

I will update this evening with more pics as I am at work right now.
Edit:
Here's a pic I took this evening. I have always dreamed of taking picture like this! This is me in my size 22's that I used to wear all the time pre-op. In fact, I think I'm wearing them in the picture above (the one in the pink shirt.) I wear a size 8 now.

moyebrady reacted to JamieLogical in Questions about results
Sagging skin is just a reality of weight loss. I lost 90 pounds "on my own" a few years ago and even though I never carried my weight in my stomach (always in my hips and thighs) and never had babies, I still ended up needing a Tummy Tuck. I also needed a breast lift even though I'd never had very large breasts.
There are some things you can do to try to minimize loose skin but there are no guarantees:
hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.... you should already be drinking a lot of Water post-op, so this shouldn't be be an issue moisturize well supplement.... Vitamin c, Vitamin e, Omega 3, and beef Gelatin are all said to help improve skin elasticity strength training.... muscle can help "fill in" the areas where you lose fat -

@@lovebugg2013 everything is going ok here....yesterday I received my cycle and I'm afraid it will be here on surgery day...I've been on my 1800 Cal diet since Tuesday it is going good. I'm hoping to lose another 10lbs before surgery next Tuesday. Not sure if I shared that I do not have to do liquids for a week or two Post Surgery. I will start eating pureed foods right away. Actually one I can tolerate Water and walking. TTYL

Ok...just came back from a 3 hour PreOp visit. Dr.'s are so different. Not to say either is right. Annyway..my Dr. does not require a PreOp liquid diet. As soon as I am out of sugery I drink Water first day. Next day I eat pureed foods in hospital. As long as I can go to the restroom and am not in pain that is unmanageable I can leave after dinner. I do have to make sure I can walk fairly comfortably and can blow on that contraption they give you. Lastly, I only have to take a flinstone Daily chewable Vitamin. No other supplements until 2nd month. WOW.
