  1. It's your choice I would say -- based on your recovery and your Dr's recommendations though. Many programs would discourage it, mine included.

In my case, that early, I wouldn't have even considered it and probably would have just thrown it away/given it away. I might eat a small piece of something like that today, but generally do not.

  2. I prefer Premiere Protein chocolate flavor. Sometimes I add PB2 and half a banana along with some ice and blend it. Generally I drink it plain. I've been drinking it for over a year now.

Initially I liked the vanilla, but it became gross to me over time. I did not care for the strawberry flavor at all.

It looks like the have Bananas & Cream and Caramel as new(er) flavors. I haven't tried those (or seen them to be honest).

  3. Hell, who would have thought - I am in onderland! I just hit 197lbs this morning. I'm not at goal weight or anything, but I told myself that I would post pictures here showing before WLS to now. I'm attempting to post some photos in the gallery. Some of the pics are pretty bad, but they are accurate. :-)

This website and its members have been an amazing source of information and I hope to have more time to contribute here.

  4. For your amusement:

I've donated hundreds (not kidding) of articles of clothing now and each time I donate, I take a peek at what they have inside. The irony here is that I sometimes see things I like, that are way too big, and then realize, "oh, that's something that *I* donated last week." :-)

I've been AWOL for a bit (sold house, bought house, busy with everything) and thought I would peek back in. Best of luck to everyone!

  5. Concerning the Constipation complaint, I've had it too. Miralax and Dulcolax never seemed to work very well for me. On a whim, I drank some straight up apple juice and had a bit of a harsh result. Now that I'm some weeks out, eating about 6 slices of apple, daily and with peel, seems to keep me in good shape.

I know some cannot tolerate peels well. so consider a small amount to test and/or talk to your doc/nutritionist.

  6. It was explained to me by the nurse practitioner that it is normal for most most patients she sees. She said we often feel good the first week and then may over do it with bending, moving, etc. I went through something similar to what you've described and it lasted a couple of weeks.

I also went in to see the Dr just to ease my mind. If you are feeling concerned, consider contacting your program. Good luck and speedy recovery.

Good god, this is a big bowl of "word salad." I'm going to guess it was made by someone trolling.

    http://examples.yourdictionary.com/examples-of-word-salad.html

The term word salad refers to a random words or phrases linked together in an often unintelligible manner. Often, a listener is unable to understand the meaning or purpose of the phrase. Mental health issues can often be the cause of disorganized speech such as word salad. ** See: "Beg your pardon?"

    Word Salad on TV

Word Salad is also sometimes used for comedic reasons on television, in music, movies, and other media. Some examples are:

The Muppet Show's music often contains words strung together that do not make sense

The Happy Noodle Boy comics by Jhonen Vasquez

Hubba Hubba Zoot Zoot, a song by Carumba

Worm Quartet, a comedy music act

Drinking Out of Cups, spoken word by Dan Deacon

    Hatsune Miku's song Francium

    Popular website LOLCats

Rutland Weekend Television's sketch “Gibberish” by Eric Idle

    Monty Python's Flying Circus

Some of the comics of Calvin And Hobbe's

A stand-up act by now deceased George Carlin included Word Salads such as “Niz fluk bwarney quando floo!”

The play Dogg's Hamlet by Tom Stoppard

Now you have seen a lot of different examples of word salad. Since word salad is just nonsense words or phrases, you can easily create your own examples at any time.

Well to be honest, your dinner sounds delicious as I sip my Protein shake.

I'm told that bread, rice and Pasta are not comfortable for many people as they can be "sticky". Beef is also difficult for some people. I haven't tried any of the 3 starches yet and they are specifically called out as something to avoid on my program.

If you're in tremendous pain, you shouldn't hesitate to call your Dr.

Some people have luck walking these things off. Me, I tend to worry about everything.

  9. The truth hurts, I guess, but at least, I am willing to admit it instead of trying to justify a mistake.

If you truly understand and is willing to follow the whole package of healthy eating and working out, then you truly do not need to permanently modify your digestive system to be successful, but that's just my opinion from my own experience - you don't have to accept any of it but hopefully you have the wisdom to consider it now while you can, so you don't end up regretting your decision and having to live with it forever, as there is no going back. Running to Mexico? Well, getting sleeved - the location holds no relevance here, is running away from the truth and the reality of what it costs to have a healthy body.

    Good luck anyways!

A mistake for you -- your truth, not mine or many others. The truth is that you have regret and it only hurts you. Your post is lazy and long. You could have summed it all up in 5 bullet points.

  10. I do not have much patience for this story.

Of course it's permanent - what wasn't understood about "gastrectomy"? This is a permanent tool, not a panacea. I guarantee that I could lose weight without the sleeve - what I was unable to do was keep it off, ever.

I fail to understand how you could not be aware of the facts relative to the surgery. Many programs provide just loads of information concerning what you can expect (risks, benefits, etc). I think the internet existed 3 years ago and nothing stops a person (choosing surgery) from asking any and as many questions as possible of their actual Dr.

I'm sorry you've regained weight with the sleeve. You know the correct steps to do something about it, if you choose. And if you do not know, then search this board (using Google - the built in board search isn't good, imo).

I predict this will be a trending topic.

  11. Not exactly the same, but I either drank too much Water at one time and/or ate slightly too much on Monday. I've had pain when burping, which turned into sharp stomach pain (periodically) when not burping. It appears to have stopped this afternoon (I hope).

The bariatric nurse thinks I could have irritated my stomach/sleeve. She recommended liquids and/or very soft foods. I've stuck to liquids the past two days, perhaps that will help you?

When all else fails call your Dr (if for nothing else, peace of mind). Good luck!
