LeoButterfly25 got a reaction from Will2014 in Just had my Duodenal Switch (DS) surgery on December 17
@@Will2014 Thank you!! Yes, I'm in nursing school now so I know the repercussions of not getting in enough fluids, and that's the scary part. It has gotten a little better. I found that warm liquids go down easier for me. I appreciate the advice.

Thanks for the replies. I always knew the scale was evil. I just thought I would like it a little more once I started losing weight.

Thank you! @@Miss Meg I'm so excited to see changes as my journey progresses. I was just baffled by this "setback". How have you been doing with getting in your fluids and Protein? ?

Hi there LeoButterfly25, I had my surgery on 27 November. I weigh myself every day but only record it once a week - it jumps around so much in a 24 hour period that it is just ridiculous. I found my biggest issue in my Fluid phase and part way through my soft food phase though to be bowel movements. (I know it isn't very pleasant to talk about, but hey, we all do it!!!!!). Don't despair over what the scale tells you today, because it can change quicker than you can blink... Good luck with everything, and I look forward to seeing your progress, especially as we are on a very similar timeline xxx

The same thing happened to me this past week. It was very frustrating. I increased my actual Water intake and for 2 days most of my intake was Clear Liquids. Also realized I had not taken my probiotic for almost a week.
This morning I was down 3lbs..

It may just be Water retention. I have days where I eat next to nothing and wake up and I've gained weight. It always goes away again in the next few days. Over Christmas I started Christmas week at 134, ate no more than 1000 calories any day, ended the week at 137, then woke up a day later at 133. As long as it isn't a consistent gain, then you're fine. Be patient...haha, or so I tell myself...I am not a patient person.

Hi, I had my switch the 18th. I'm having a terrible time getting in my liquids and Protein. I'm finding that every time I drink or try to eat I start burping. Can anyone else relate?

I wish someone would come up with Protein Water. Why can't that exist.
