  1. Had my bypass December 30th was discharged home 2 days later. This pain in the left side of my stomach brings me to tears daily. With certain moves I make. I try and be so careful getting up and down but I feel like such a sharp pain when I lay down, get up, get down, even walking I clench that side of my stomach because if I let go the pain comes and almost brings me to my knees. I know some ppl recover quicker then others and I am a bit of a worry wart but seriously I can't find relief unless I lay done with heat on my tummy. How is that proactive for my healing process? I sure hope I get better. I was so very hopeful for this surgery for myself and my future but at the cost of this much agony cause I couldn't control my eating? Damn me.
  2. Had my bypass and I have struggled since day 1 first pain now 3 weeks of nausea and tonight I coughed/threw up blood. Idk if the blood is just from my stomach and esophagus irritated from all the dry heaving and throwing up or what what do u all think? Anyone experience coughing/throwing up bright red blood?
  3. I'm now 22 days post RNY and still in quite a bit of pain where most of the work took place and where my stomach is caved in. I have seen people post about one day it will just "pop" and I will be relieved. My doctor says it's normal and to keep taking pain meds and the sutures inside will indeed actually pop and my stomach won't look caved in anymore and I won't be hurting so bad. 22 days post op and still nothing? Is there something I can do to make it pop? Did any of you all out there experience this? How long did it take for yours to pop? I really want to go back to work and exercise a lot and just live my life but this pain is holding me back. Abdominal binder makes it worse. Only my hand when walking relieves it some. Help??
  4. 16 days post op and I feel like I'm not sipping water I can take normal drinks without any discomfort. In y'all's experience am I hurting my new stomach?
  5. I cannot get a hold of this pain. I know that I'm new here and all I post about it this pain. I have been given new med after new med and nothing truely comforts me. I am in constant communication with my surgeons NP I know I'm newly post op as on December 30th when I had my rny but i need some sort of relief for my sanity trying to deal with this much pain. I have been told over and over that it's part of the process I have no symptoms of anything wrong. No fever, nothing other the excruciating left side abdominal pain. Where my tummy is actually caved in. I cannot let go of it, clenching it 24/7 dare I let go and the pain escalates to almost unbearable.
  6. I'm 13 days post op, still don't feel well enough to return to work stomach pain wise. I can keep down fluids and protein shake. But the pain still hurts so bad to get up and down and to stand long. I keep my hand clenched on that area. Hoping to return in a week.

    Pain pain pain

I can hold everything down, water, protein shakes, broth, disgusting vile medication makes me gag a little. The pain is so localized to that one area. Doc not his NP seem to be concerned at all and keep reminding me it's just part of the process and my body just needs to heal... I thought it would be at least a little better by now but boy I was so wrong. It hurts something awful. I've been told here that it's normal and one day il wake up and the pain will just be gone and I don't get that! For now I am holding on to hopes that day will soon come so I can go on with my life pain free and really start the weight loss journey. My mind is so clouded mentally and physically wearing on me trying to come with this pain. :/
  9. Well I am pleased to see I'm not the only one sorry guys y'all are feeling/felt this way to. Would not wish this on anyone. I hope it doesn't last much longer I am ready to get back to work, independence, and just my life. This pain is really weighing on my emotions. Same thing everyday... Waking up in the middle of the night even fumbling trying to get up solo to get my meds. Over it! Trying to keep a positive mind frame for my future

I had rny bypass by dr nicholson December 30th. I stayed 2 nights in hospital - my pain is still tremendous. Only relief I get is when I'm on my back. Sitting, standing, getting up, getting down... All hurt me SO bad. Idk if I have low pain tolerance or what but I feel like it's not even getting a little better. sandy called me today to check on me and I told her I can't get control of my pain she wants me back in the clinic tomorrow. I feel like such a wus... But I can't get any relief other then when I lay down
  11. It is in the incision where most all the work took place. I spoke with my surgeons np today and she told me to take 2 doses of Children's ibprofen because the pain she says I'm experiencing is severe inflammation. Just my insides are super iratated and sensitive. I have to call her back tomm night to see if it's any better. I knew I would be in pain, just didn't know it would hurt me this bad. Literally burning stabbing and takes my breath away
  12. Why do I feel like I just had my rny 5 hours ago? Can't seem to get a grip on this pain. I'm staying on top of walking and pain meds. Please tell me it will get better most pain is on my left lower side of my tummy when I get up from laying down it feels like a synging burn inside and that everything there is ripping
  13. Had my RNY December 30th. Was released from hospital today. My pain stays around A 7-8 when I'm up and walking and I get relief to about a 4-5 laying down. It still hurts so bad. Tell me it will get better
