I know I'm getting plenty of Protein, I drink a ton of Water, and I feel tired all the time, with a low-grade headache. It wasn't like this initially; in fact I was kind of buzzed at first. Now I just don't seem to have any energy. I started taking the bariatric Iron and multi I bought for after surgery, thinking it may be a lack of micro-nutrients, but sheesh I'd sure love to feel well rested, especially going into a month or more of super low calorie, liquid intake after surgery. Anyone else feeling like this?
Me, been feeling super tired, hungry and having headaches😩 my diet is only Clear Liquids and Protein Shakes. I cheated today had to have some food (chicken soup) the dizziness was killing me

I attended the final class today and have my pre op doctors appointment on the 13th. I also found out that I get to start my liquid 3 week diet tomorrow-surprise. I thought I’d have more time to prepare but excited to just get it going! I’m having gastric bypass due to severe GERD as well.

Those are the words sabrina14339 RNY feels so much scarier, i guess in my case im scared of the rerouting stuff, malnutrition and the extra hours under anesthesia since is a longer surgery my doctor told me 5 hours theres more than can go wrong with an RNY than a Sleeve put i don't have any other option is either risk it or stay obese and have my life at risk anyways, i just want to be a healthy mommy for my kids

Hello im in the process of getting surgery, i really wanted a gastric Sleeve but my surgeon doesn't think is the best for me as i have really bad GERD, i know is a drastic lifestyle change but i have tried so many diets, weight loss program, supervised, gym, etc... i feel like this is my last option to lose the weight. I have two children one is 6 my little girl is 4 and i just feel they need to have their mom healthy to enjoy life with them, right now im always in pain, Migraines, back pain, joints, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, pre diabetes, pseudo-tumor cerebri, is so many that i feel if i don't get the surgery and don't lose the weight i wont be around to see my kids grow up but at the same time im scared of RNY because i know how risky this surgery is and complications that can come with it. I heard there is a chance your body can reject the surgery? Did any of you had these feelings if so what helped overcome it? Thank you in advance

Thank you so much everyone for all the information specially the one about RNY being reversible? Really i didn't know that
-
Thank you heather5565 for the info, i mean everywhere i look and read i see there is more risk with RNY even my surgeon told me there are more risks with this surgery but anyways you are right there is risk with any surgery, good to know RNY helps with Gerd.

Yeah lapband is not a good idea as I have gastritis and gerd if not honestly i would have gone with gastric sleeve
-
Im thinking of doing it because on top of the 75-80lb i also have pseudo tumor cerebri which is caused by weight gain, Migraines, urinary incontinence, positional sleep apnea, joint and back pain, high cholesterol and pre diabetes so its so much more than the extra weight but i was just wondering about RNY since the friends that i know are bony skinny, thanks for your answer
-
Hello everyone, im new to this forum and i was wondering did any of you only had 75 or 80 pounds to lose? Do you think RNY was the best option? I was originally going to have gastric sleeve surgery since I didn't have to lose much weight and was a safer option surgery wise but now my doctor says no i have to go with RNY because my Gerd is pretty bad plus i have gastritis. Sorry just a little scared since i see more complications with RNY and i see people getting bony skinny which i dont want, i just want to be on a healthy weight. Thank you in advance for your responses

Nice to hear positive outcomes, i was scheduled for sleeve surgery but now my surgeon says no because of my Gerd and gastritis he says rny is better option but i was so sure i wanted a sleeve that now I'm worried my only option is RNY since i read is a riskier surgery i want to lose my extra weight which is around 75-80 lb but dont wanna be too skinny as I see people get with RNY
