Its common to have doubt, I was smaller than you but something I did not have any doubt about was that I could not lose weight on my own for more than few months.

Help me set my goal weight.

I am 5,7, my highest was 242lbs, my goal is to be 155-165lbs. I guess for you 165-175lbs will be ideal.

    Exercise

I have started weight training, currently doing only half of what I used to do pre-op and for 30 minutes only, but by end of it I feel week and bit dizzy. I checked my BP when I return home and its normal. I wonder if increasing carbs will help?
  5. I am wondering the same. I have always had more weight on love handles than belly.

    64 oz of fluid

I am almost 6 weeks and I can take only around a litre daily.
  8. At two weeks I could hardly make it to 50 Oz and may be around 30g Protein, at 6 weeks I can take 50OZ with effort. It does get better with time. I did not have pain in my stomach though, you might need to check with your surgeon. AT 2 weeks post-op visit my surgeon did tell me of different types of pain. Its mainly due to remnant stomach adjusting.

My Story + No Support From Wife

I had no support at all from my family, everyone was opposed to the idea and everyone tried to convince me to change my mind. I was slef pay, and due to all the ngative opinions I got I did not even tell my family of my surgery date, but I was positive that they will help if I do get operated. I told them the night before that I am going for surgery tomorrow. However, they were all there to help after the surgery and have been supportive since then. I don't know if your wife will be supportive once its done, but youhave got your parents and son to count on.

    Really constipated.. I think...

Dont ignore it I would say, I had diarrhea after surgery for most part, then missed poop for 2 days, no urge, third day constipation and it was a terrible ordeal.
  11. I had diarrhea initially, but 3 days ago went to loo and worst constipation ever, started on laxatives. Learned a lesson, diarrhea is better than constipation.
  12. Yes I do and it worries me, not because I cannot manage it (its not cold where I live) but it tells me my metabolic rate is slow now and that means if I was eating normally I would tend to gain weight.

    Coffee

I tried tea a week or so ago and gave me severe heart burn, lasted for 3 hours. Have been afraid to try since then. I love coffee and tea and kind of surprised how I have can go on without coffee for 6 weeks.

    The POOPS.....

@TNchick I had watery stools first two weeks, sometimes 2-3 times per day. Protein shakes gave me explosive diarrhea and I would go immediately after taking some. Then gradually it became less, like once a day or every two days but still loose. Today am Day 31 and first day of bad constipation. So better keep milk of magnesia, am buying it today.

    Heartburn

Today was my first day to have nasty heart burn after surgery and I wondered if it was new food, then realized I had forgotten to take my Pantoprazole in morning. Looks like I will need to be on it for a while.
  17. I have had 3 endoscopies and one colonocscopy. They did give me injections but I was awake throughout, in all. They kept talking to me during Colonoscopy. Did not feel any pain. During endoscopy they spray something in my throat to numb it, did not have any gagging. In the last endoscopy that was 2 weeks before sleeve, which my surgeon required, they told me you are the most cooperative patient she saw.
  18. I am 31 days post-op now. Started exercising since few days, in postures of exercises that contract abs, I feel pain beneath the larger incision that is at my belly button. Its not right below incision, but bit to right of it, but I feel the pain is related to this incision. Any sleevers has experienced anything like this.
  19. I am so sorry to hear about diagnosis of your wife. I will pray for both of you.

    Not Getting Enough Calories

After starting work where I walk about 3-4 miles and exercise in evening for 15-30 minutes my calorie intake has reduced. Bcoz I feel more thirsty and need to take fluids, which ofcourse limits the time you can get your solids in. I am now taking fortimeal to get around this problem, it has 200 Cal in 200ml with 20 G Protein.
  21. 26 days since surgery and I can cross my legs. For years I could hardly put one foot over the other knee.
  22. I do know one person who went from BMI 40 to BMI 16, which is under weight. But I dont know if he suffers from anorexia nervosa.
  23. If I calculate all the weight I lost and gained back, it would be above 300lbs, in 6 months before surgery I had lost more than lbs, but each time not only did I gain back, I gained 10-20lbs more than my start. I don't think I could have done it without WLS.
  24. Excuse my ignorance but what do the alphabets represent DD/D or B?
