  1. I was fortunate on my psych eval. The dr had wls surgery as well and was so supportive and encouraging! I can't imagine a dr of any sort being so rude! Dr's take an oath to help people not put them down! Anyway, some people are just jerks. I found the best way to find a good surgeon is word of mouth. I started asking people I knew that had wls and many of them in my area had used the same place. Even my psych dr recommended this place. He said if he was to do another surgery it's who he would use. And the dr I chose came highly recommended! When I had my first consult with him he made me feel so at ease. I'm going to preop on Dec 30th! Super excited! Best of luck on chosing thr best dr for you!

    So discouraged -see pics

I know where you're coming from. My bmi is 36 and I've heard many times "you're not that big". I've struggled to lose weight for the last 14 years. I don't feel good about myself, I have no energy, my blood pressure is high. .. I have many reasons for wanting to do this. With a bmi of 36 my insurance approved my surgery in 2 weeks. I have all my preop stuff scheduled for Dec. 30th. If you are certain this is what you want, don't let anyone talk you out of it. You know how you feel and what you want. Best of luck to you!
  3. I just scheduled my preop testing for December 30th! I'm super excited to be taking this step to better myself. Any advice on how to make the next couple weeks easier would be appreciated! Thanks!

    Getting started!

The surgeon I'm using came highly recommended by several people and I've had a really good experience with his office so far. I've read everything I can find on the internet about the procedure, and preop and post op diet. There are still things that I'm not sure about. I've read different guidelines about diet restrictions from many different sources, but until I have my preop consultation I'm not sure what my surgeon will recommend. I wish you the best of luck on your recovery! And please keep me updated so I can know what to expect when it's my turn!
