  1. It can be done. I've seen people lose all of their regain (some as high as 50 pounds). It's not as easy as the first time, and may take you much longer, but it can be done.

I'm 2 years out, and I gained almost 6 earlier this year. It's taken me from May to now to literally lose 5 of the 6. I had to change up my exercise routine, and also did the 5:2 program, or intermittent fasting to decrease my cravings and increase my restriction. Maybe something you could look into?

    What is the 5:2?

  2. This is my biggest fear! I have stopped losing but not gaining either at about 8 months out. Daily I kick myself in the butt for not leaving off carbs more than I should. I have also heard too to go back on the pre op diet , and progress back into foods like you did after sx. I pray that you get back on the wagon and I will try to do the same. Keep me posted on your progress.

Yes, I'm going shopping for the liquids and soft Proteins this weekend. Gotta start the 5daypouchtest on Monday.

  3. I've fallen off the wagon... too hard to get back up on my own so I'm back on here. 8 months after surgery I was at my lowest, down 64.4 pounds at 185.6 on 9/15/15.

Now a year later, today, I've regained 27.4 pounds so that puts me at post op 1 year and 8 months down 37 pounds.

I know where I went wrong, I've got excuses but I won't bore you with them here. Have any of you done this and successfully gotten back on the wagon and are on your way toward your goal again? I need some, "me too, but it's possible to turn it back around" and what worked for you.

    TIA

  4. You guys I don't know why but I am depressed, my surgery was on dec 17th and depression has hit me. I know what I did is a good thing and I did it for my self but why am I depressed? Everything gets to me so quick and I don't want to go anywhere to see anyone and I just feel like crying. I started on stage two full liquids as of Monday and for some reason the pain was unbearable... I called my dr and he told me that I had major surgery especially because mine was a revision and I have a lot to heal inside. I think that pain has traumatized me from food. I don't think I will eat again. Is anyone else experiencing the depression part??

    How are you?

  5. Hi Buddies!

I'm sorry to hear that some of you are struggling. Can you believe we are 20mo out!??

My weight leveled out around 150lbs ( 10lbs under surgeons goal.) I was able to get under that but had to work out for hours and hardly eat. Not ideal lifestyle.

Now I'm 20wks prego with my 2nd baby and doing pretty good! I def have a bigger appetite and struggled majorly during the first 16wks with severe nausea. I've put on about 10lbs but my OB is happy and says I'm well within normal range and my labs are good. It's a serious mind trip to be gaining again ( even prego!) and I'll be excited to have this baby and get my body back.

Eating healthy and exercise is the best thing we can do for our bodies! Start there and limit those portions. Remember lifestyle pays off; not extreme dieting.

    Best of luck to you

Congrats on the baby! Your going to do great! Thanks for the encouragement!

I do not have the exact experience but I sure do feel for you and get it. The pain and shame is overwhelmging. All I can say is that for me, even tho I haven't gained much weight back, I feel as down as I did before surgery SO....I'm guessing I still have some serious problems not related to weight. I just blamed all my issues on being obese. So here I am, a smaller person but still the "same me" with the same underlying issues.

I do see other posts from longtime sleevers is that you can recover. It is harder than postop weight loss but possible. They say to start on the liquid diet again, and clean up eating habits, the sleeve still works but we have to follow the eating plan. I've been toying with doing that but just not ready to do that.

I will make a commitment to you today (cuz I have to tell someone) I am going to eat well this day. No sugar, no crap, follow the food plan just today. One day at a time.

    Thanks for listening.

I am going shopping this weekend to prep for the pouch test.

  8. I had my surgery on Wednesday 1/7/15 and am feeling pretty good today. Really haven't had much gas pain. My problem is that I'm not hungry or thirsty. I don't want to get dehydrated but have to desire to eat or drink anything. Doctor wants me to get in 60-80 grams of Protein a day. Not happening. Anyone else not hungry yet?

I'm exactly the same. My surgery was on the same day. I have to do full liquids for 3 weeks. I'm down 15lbs already! I'm not counting my protein yet, I just couldn't handle it, so my Dr said to just focus on the liquids for now.... I think I could go all day with no food or Water, not hungry at all. I have to make myself drink. And I'm only getting in 30-35 oz/day right now. But it's increasing everyday.

  9. I'm 7 days oit and over the liquids. My dr. Requires 2 wks on liquids. Is that the same for everyone else? I never want to drink gatorade again. He did say I could drink coffee but I'm not sure I'm ready for that yet. @@XxKimberlyX I had the same pain on my arms. I just assumed it was from them taking my vitals 50 times a day in the hospital.

My dr. has me on full liquids for 3 weeks.
