    Plain yogurt = *gag*... Help!

I've added SF pudding mix to my plain yogurt and it's pretty good. Just a little goes along way.
  2. I also did not cheat on the liquid diet. It's a mental test and it is hard but think about the reasons you are going through this. You can make it. Give yourself the best chance at success. I'm 3 weeks Postop and am very proud of myself for sticking to the plan. Good luck Mike

    Bypass Surgery tomorrow 12/30/14

Good luck tomorrow. Think happy thoughts! Mike
  4. I had surgery on 12/17 and will be returning to work on 1/5. I think I would have been ok going back today but I'm getting paid so I figured I would get the rest while I can. I work in an office the majority of the time. My biggest issues will be having time to get my fluids in and giving up my naps . Good Luck Mike

Thank for th replies. I had my cath removed today and my follow up appointment went great so I guess you could say I'm good to go...literally. ba dump bump Thanks again, I appreciate knowing that I didn't have much to worry about. Mike
  6. Hi everyone, sorry if this is TMI but I got sent home with a catheter because my bladder isn't "awake" yet. I'm scheduled for a urologist visit Friday the 26th. Has anyone on here had this problem when coming out of anesthesia? I've had multiple surgeries and never had problems before. This one is not fun. Mike

    Finally post op

Hi Krisstep, Glad everything went well for you. I'm not feeling the sensation that you are but I do feel like every sip fills me up with air. I'm going to try the gas-x. It's good to be home isn't it? Mike

    December 19 surgery date

Hi there, I'm just 2 days ahead of you so I'm doing the same things. How long is your preop diet? Mine was 2 weeks. I didn't have any issues with energy at all, I'm just tired of the same old Protein shakes day in and day out. Stick it out, you can do it. We're on the home stretch! Mike
  9. Hi Everyone, My surgery is this Wednesday 12/17. I'm getting excited/nervous but finding this forum has been a great thing for me. I know that most preops have the same thoughts leading up to surgery but it's just nice to confirm that I'm not the only one. Glad to hear you are all doing well. I hope the same goes for me. I'm sure you'll be seeing me around here plenty! Mike

New Guy w/ RYGB on 12/17

Hello Djmohr, It's nice to see another Minnesotan eh. Lol. I'm having my surgery done at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. Thanks for encouragement. You're right, I always think about doing this for my kids and my family but most of all I really need this for me. If I take care of myself, everything else will take care of itself, right? Thanks again!
  11. Hello Everyone, I'm new to the forum but very glad to be here. I've been reading some of the posts and I'm sure that I'll be spending a great deal of time here in the future. I have RYGB scheduled for 12/17 and I'm on the 2 week preop liquid diet which, honestly is getting pretty old. I can't wait to eat some yogurt or juice or anything other than shakes and jello/pudding. I've been having a lot of last minute doubts this weekend but I'm confident that I'm making the right move. Part of my doubts comes from the feeling that at 305 pounds, there are a lot of people much more deserving than I am that should be having this surgery and they are not. I kind of feel like I don't deserve it. When I've told people everyone has been supportive but they all say the same thing, 'you're not that big'. I guess that's a compliment but it somewhat undermines my confidence a bit. I've been overweight my entire life and I'm excited to be on the other side of the coin for once. I've been losing a good amount of weight being on the practice diet that the nutritionist prescribed. I'm down to 260 already so I'm excited to see what I can do after the surgery. In the past, though, I been able to lose weight, but have always gained it back and then some. I'm excited to get started on my journey and I look forward to getting to new you all in the future. Mike
  12. Hi Krisstep, This is my first post on here but I'm glad that I read yours. I'm also having my RYGB on 12/17 and I am also struggling with doubts. I'm glad I'm not the only one and I kind of figured I wasn't. I had a talk with my 13 year old son this morning and he helped me see that it's definitely the right decision. I'm amazed at the talks I have with that boy. But anyway, I hope that you're able to get everything done at one time and you can get on the path that you want to be on. I'll be right there with you on Wednesday! Good Luck!! Mike
