I am a 27 year old wife and mother of a little girl born August 2013. I love to scrapbook and sing and spend time with my family as often as I can. Family is EVERYTHING to me and I would never have it any other way.

I found bariatric pal on my phone through the app store and found out how much better it is on the computer! I was looking for a place to see what I was in for. I wanted to see real people and real struggles and prepare myself for surgery but also be able to help others with their surgeries and inspire them with my own weight loss journey, and I wont lie, I wanted to be able to brag about my own successes as they arise.

I am almost a year out and thrilled with the results of my surgery and hard work so far. I was overweight my entire life. I dont ever remember a time that I wasnt the "fat kid" in school or the "big girl" at functions. I just ate to deal and got bigger and bigger. At one point I just accepted that I would be big forever and became comfortable in my body (or what I thought was comfortable). After I had my daughter though, I ballooned up from the "comfortable" 285 to 310. I told myself I would lose the baby weight and everything would be fine. Well when my daughter turned 1 and I was weighing in at 330 lbs that was when I knew I needed help and I needed it fast. I couldn't chase her around or go to the playground and play with her. I was always tired and depressed and I hated it. The harder I tried the worse it got. The weight just wouldnt budge and I wanted to give up. A friend of mine had the sleeve prior (almost 3 years ago) and was telling me about her experience and she is the one that helped me decide that the sleeve was for me. I started my journey with doctors poking and prodding me in August of 2014 and was sleeved December 4th 2014. My highest weight (also my weight at surgery) was 334. I am 11 months out and officially weighed in this morning at 200 lbs even. I am praying that means tomorrow I will hit ONEderland and I can celebrate!

I am so thankful for the support of other sleevers and my family and friends, but I am also very thankful for the opportunity that my sleeve has given me to be the best mom and wife I can be. I feel like I am 27 now, not 72. Its changed my life so much I cannot even explain it.
