I share the same fears! But as long as we go into this with the mindset of it ONLY being a tool and we still have to work at it, nutritionally and physically...we have better chances of succeeding long term. Unfortunately, I think that those who have gained their weight back either got too "comfortable" and or thought their surgery was a fix all. And it's not

I understand completely how you are feeling and that was such a huge concern of mine before I had my surgery in November. What I can tell you about my experience is the sleeve was a great tool for me. I was off my insulin and diabetes meds 4 weeks after surgery. I dropped about 15lbs without thinking about it. But the thing is, that is all it is, a tool. It is not a miracle worker. You have to be willing to change your habits, including body and mind. I have since started with a great program, became a Health Coach and when I went to my surgeon for a follow up, he asked me to come into his office and talk to him and his colleagues about the program. I would love to talk to you more about it if your are interested.

I've had the same thing happen to me. I'm finally done. Hallelujah. It has taken me a total of 14 months to get approved. I have Graves' disease. I had to have my thyroid removed, which has caused additional weight gain in trying to regulate the replacement hormone. It has been a very long process, however, in finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Now I'm waiting for the surgery coordinator to get with me on a surgery date. More waiting.
Being on this app/website has been eye opening. I didn't realize that after the weight loss that it is going to a major struggle to keep the weight off. I'm doing this because I'm tired of struggling. I just hope that it is a REAL success for me. I am committed 100% I'm just scared at this point that I may be a failure and I don't want that.

I'm disabled so I have Medicare and Medicaid. It has taken me a total of 14 months so far. I have Graves' disease so I had to have my thyroid removed last March. It has been a LONG time coming

I am in the same situation. I found out last Thursday that I've been approved. Now I am waiting to be scheduled. It seems like I've been waiting FOREVER

Definitely everything that you said...my son is a theatre major and where they perform...I DO NOT fit in those sits. They were made for skinny people. I am in the process of getting everything done.. I have my Phsyc appt tomorrow an my dietician the next week. So I'm looming at probably February.
