Yesterday marked 2 months post op for me. I'm down 27 lbs and happy. Needing new, smaller sized clothes which is awesome. People comment to me in person and when I post pics on FB how great I look. It feels wonderful. Also, my BP meds have been adjusted from 4 a day down to 1 a day. I travel for work often and find that one of the most difficult things is making smart food choices. I've started to travel with Protein Shakes to keep me on track. I've had two fills since surgery and now up to 6 ccs in my band. After my second fill last week I feel tighter in the mornings and usually only have liquids in the am. It took a while to get adjusted. I have gotten stuck with chicken a few times the last few weeks and it was a terrible experience. Thankfully I was alone. I've started dating someone the last month or so and wondering when is the right time to tell him about the band. I want to be honest. He has health issues and I want him to know how I struggled before and feel so much better now on the road to more success. I've told him I had surgery but no other details. I now eat much slower, in smaller bites and never drink while eating. It's something I've gotten used to. One of my fav meals to order on the go is chicken enchilada Soup from Chilis. Sodium is high but it is so delicious. The chicken goes down easily since it is soup. I plan on trying more snap kitchen meals too since I'll be home more often this month. Hopefully I will continue to see my weight drop and join onederland soon! I've got 10 lbs to go...my total goal is to lose an additional 65 lbs. Good luck to all!

Keep it up.... there are a lot band haters on this forum, don't let them discourage you! The band has worked for me, and many others! I managed to put on few pounds in the past month (my fault!!) but I will get back on track!

I had my lap band surgery August 15th 2014. So far I have lost 33lbs and feeling much better about myself. I started my journey at 257lbs I am currently 224lbs. I made my decision for health reasons, myself esteem and I needed to get back into my uniform (lol). Fortunately my health has improved, I am feeling much better about myself and I didn't have to get bigger uniforms. I did gain about 2lbs over the Thanksgiving holiday, but I have picked myself up and have moved on. I know having lap band surgery has been one if the best decisions I have made.

Well, it's Day 3 of my pre-surgery diet (Protein shakes and no more than 250 calories of greens per day) and I am feeling pretty darn good, considering I have had nothing substantial to eat since Wednesday, December 3rd.
The amazing thing - I'm not 'that' hungry. I love that SWLC lets me eat low G.I. veggies as well as the Protein Shakes. This is helping me get through these long days. I'm not prone to headaches, but Deez416 warned me I might get one once I start the pre-op diet, and boy was she right. I've had a constant low grade headache for 2 days. Having Tylenol on hand has helped!

The hardest part of this whole thing is late afternoon each day. As soon as it starts to get dark and the dinner hour approaches, I start thinking about food and having my nightly glass of wine. This is tough. Last night I roasted chicken thighs (my favourite thing in the world), made mashed potatoes and green Beans for my family for dinner.

I was so overwhelmed with temptation, I had to leave the table and sit in the fireplace room with the door shut. My daughter was adorable, and apologized to me for enjoying dinner!

I'm in ketosis, too - that started on Day 2. There is no better motivator for me than to see that dark pink/purple colour on the strip! Yesssss! Burning fat? Yes please. Pass me another low carb Protein shake, willya?

Thank you Marie. Great going yourself. Just got my baby from mom's to give my parents a break and while its weekend my husband helps. Lots of snuggles and he seems to understand mommy can't pick him up. Walking does feel better, except for crappy weather in NYC.

Surgery couldn't be better! I feel good, positive and determined. Lots of tightness specially laying down or sitting but I try to move around ad much as possible. Still feel a bit oozy from meds. Not much pain only at the site of port upon getting up (back to pregnancy days and rolling off to a side to get up:) My biggest challenge will be away from my almost 23 months old son. My awesome mom is taking care of him for the next 3 weeks until I heal (cannot lift anything heavy). My sister is my biggest inspiration, she was lap banded in 2012 lost all the excess weight and keeping it off. Her only major complication was lifting her son (then 2.5 yr) and having port twist and stitches open slightly, she was only 3 weeks post op. So yes, I will learn from that mistake!
Otherwise I make sure I drink plenty of Water, broth, kefir, fresh squeezed juices and Protein Shakes. So far so good, learning to swallow nice and slow. Biggest challenge was to go #2 , but milk of magnesia did the trick . Still a bit bloated but feeling much better.
Hope to hear some great stories of encouragement.
