at the table or on the sofa?

I think it's about being able to slow down on the couch as at the table you want to finish quicker and get up from the table

    Calling all smokers

Ohh trust me i know we smell cause when i quit my mom stunk!!! See this is an other thing i live with my hubby and mom and they are both smokers. Mind you non of us smoke in the house but regardless cigarettes are everywhere and readily available. I thank you all for all your inputs i am struggling with this because i really really do like smoking i love it in fact and I'm just being honest. Even knowing that I'm slowly killing myself. That's why smoking is such a mind f@#$ right now. Because like some of you have said i do want to get healthy or else i wouldn't of had surgery. i tried wellbutrin for 3 months and nothing because I think u need to want to quit and i didn't want too. So for now i this is where I'm at, hubby is willing to quit with me but my mom isn't but she is moving out in a few weeks. Once all cigarettes are out of the house than hubby and i can have a clean slate. Which i will get help from my GP. I might try chantix this time. It's gonnq be hard but i feel that if i could go through WLS than what can't i do??? Right?? I'll keep you guys posted

  15. I totally agree there was no mention of malabsorbtion which is really the basis of weight loss with bypass surgery. We lose the weight not only because we are eating small amounts of food. But because our system is re routed not to absorb nutrients carbs sugars fats etc. Hence why we need to take vitamins for life. At a recent support group one of the surgeons on hand explained that our new stomachs doesn't stretch or gey bigger. But what does start to happen around the 2 year mark is that the opening of the base of the pouch gets a bit bigger which in turn let food pass faster from our pouch to our intestines. Also our intestine learn to absorb more around this stage so the malabsorbtion stops or slows down. So if still don't watch what we eat and go back to high fat high carbs that's what our body will be absorbing hence some plp regaining a few pounds. This is the way he put it. A bag a small chips a day equals to a pound a week and if you eat a bag a day for a year you can gain up to 50lbs. So it isn't so much of stretching the pouch or not feeling full there's a lot more to it

    1 year Surgiversary!

At one of my support groups recently the surgeon on hand told us that it's impossible to stretch your pouch. That they have done various research and test on plp even 10 years out and the pouch is the same size as day one. What does open up a bit more is the opening in the bypass you intestine is still 25 feet long and xan hold a hole bunch. And because the opening to your intestine opens up your food leaves your pouch quicker which is wgy you can eat a bit more. Also this still isn't that big of a deal untill after 2plus years cause that's when the malabsorbtion stops or slows down.
  18. There's a forum here that you can check out where plp are selling their old clothes check it out. I've seen a few post of plp selling size 22 20 and 18 clothing. I started at a size 20 and I'm down to a 18 but i also have a suitcase of old clothes from my smaller days so hopefully I won't need to buy a lot of clothes for now.

    Help! Everything makes me sick!

So im 7 weeks out and I'm supposed to be transitioning into the "regular food" stage. When i started the soft food stage at week 4 things were good i could eat about a cup of almost everything even minced chicken. But now for the last 2 weeks nothing goes down well everything makes me nauseous I've thrown up every other day. And can't have more than 1/4 cup of anything except yogurt. So lets say I'm not getting all my protein. Besides i have no appetite or desire to eat. Feeling really down about this cause i really want to get in enough because I don't want to slow down my weight loss. Ughhh so frustrating

    2-weeks post-op

@@PhillyChick so we're almost the same i too have really good days when i can eat and get all my water and feel full of energy. Than o have the bad days when i don't sleep at all feel groggy and get really nauseous. I've had my period simce surgery with only a 2 week break so that's sucked. Eating slower is a b#$% even a minute in between bites sometimes isn't enough I've been throwing up more the different things i try but hey I'm hanging in there. I'm at 45lbs down hoping for 5 more by the 1st of feb cause that will make it 2 months. About the constipation i had a lot the first few weeks and it was horrible so now i add bran buds to my yogurt and it's helped. I don't go daily but not constipated
