Lindsey Skinner Abbott got a reaction from sunnydeeliteful in Lovaquan shots
I had lovenox shots only in the hospital. I did end up back in the hospital 2 weeks post-op wirh blood clots. So I think taking them after you get home is a good idea. I am almost 6 months outing had to get my gallbladder out last month. I had to be on the lovenox shots for a month after surgery. It does give you some bruises but it doesn't hurt as bad if you let the alcohol dry before you give yourself the shot

Lindsey Skinner Abbott got a reaction from luzazulmb in Headache Medicine After Surgery
I wish Tylenol would touch this headache! I remember seeing a list of over the counter meds that are okay...I will search for that. Advil is on the do not take list according to my doctor.

Lindsey Skinner Abbott got a reaction from sarcruze in Insurance Tricare?
I am in TriWest...Boise, ID. You will need to do a 3 month supervised diet. I had those in my medical record over the past year. I did have to do a few other tests but those were doctor requirements. I just had a friend go to her first apt July 7th and already had approval through TriWest. She will have surgery in August...she already had 3 months of supervised dieting in her records.

Lindsey Skinner Abbott got a reaction from flip26 in Insurance Tricare?
Finally got approved for the sleeve! It only took Tricare 2 days for the approval! I had to have a sleep study done so that is what took so long to get all of my appointments done. So excited yet nervous. I have waited almost two years for this. So happy the sleeve was approved!

Lindsey Skinner Abbott got a reaction from flip26 in Insurance Tricare?
I to was a week away from having surgery at a military hospital. A week before surgery it was canceled due to a PCS. I am so happy I did not get the surgery there! I was able to get a wonderful surgeon at a center of excellence. My surgeon has done so many more surgeries than the one on base. I didn't have to have a drain tub...no two week liquid diet. I also had blood clots two weeks after surgery. I feel like if I had gone on base for treatment I would be dead. My clots did not present normally and the base probably would have sent me home with Motrin. While I have had good care on base I feel like I have had awesome care from my surgeon and staff at the hospital. Plus I didn't have to share a hospital room like I would have on base. I live an hour away from base so I also see a family doctor where I live....best health care I have had in 17 years of marriage to my husband.

Lindsey Skinner Abbott got a reaction from Pup in May 24 Surgery Day
I am loving the patch. I really feel like I have more energy since taking it. I am not sleepy during the day like I used to be. I even took my kids 3 hours away to camp yesterday and didn't fall asleep in the car. That is very rare for me!

Sorry you are still feeling so bad. I had a follow up Thursday with my surgeon and he cleared me for all exercise. I have also been cleared for exercise from my other doctor for my blood clots. I still need to see the hemotologist for my apt but i did actually see him at work this week and we talked a bit about my situation. I had to reschedule with him because work has been crazy. I have been able to eat anything I want. I ate some pork tenderloin tonight. I went to costco today and had a few samples and I was so full! They had really good chicken meatballs! I try to cook at home but yesterday we when out to Red Robin. I ordered a chicken salad. I hate ordering a full meal because I can't eat much. I have lost 27lbs. Next week I will start full exercise at the Y.

Sorry you guys are having such issues. I am able to eat with no issues. I even had some chicken breast this weekend but the texture wasn't right. It was very strange. I am having a hard getting all of my Protein in but I am tired of the drinks. Cottage cheese has been good for me. Hope you all start feeling better!

Lindsey Skinner Abbott got a reaction from KristenLe in I know it's not a new topic but...DAMN STALL!
I had mine on the 24th. I lost 24lbs but have stalled. I think it is normal. Our bodies just went through major trauma and now our hormones are trying to catch up with the changes. I bet in a week or two we will get on the scale and lose 5lbs!

I take Efexor and have for a long time. I have been able to swollen it since I was in the hospital. It is a capsule. How are you guys doing Vitamins? I am so sick of them already! I have to take the bariatric chewables. I can't do the swallow pills until 3 months.

Have you tried egg salad or chicken salad? I am going to make that. I also saw a recipe for ricotta bake that looked good.

I am on a soft food diet and it is so much better! I had smoked salmon last night and it was so good! It feels good to chew food. I finally made it to work for a full day today! It is nice to get back to normal even though everyone is commenting on how much I am not eating. I am looking forward to the point I get more energy. Although I think these blood clots might keep me down a bit longer.

Lindsey Skinner Abbott got a reaction from Runner1 in Blood clots anyone?
Oh wow! That is crazy! I guess since mine were already in my lungs they weren't worried about them moving. I felt bad but not too bad. They put me on Elequis so I wouldn't have to have so much monitoring with blood work. I don't know if the sleeve caused this or if I have underlying issues. I have to see a hemotologist for future testing.

Lindsey Skinner Abbott got a reaction from Runner1 in Blood clots anyone?
I was two weeks post sleeve surgery on Tuesday. I woke up in excruciating pain in my abdomen...I was terrified it was a leak. I ended up in the ER. I also had a hiatal hernia repair as well. They thought it was pain from that healing. After a ultrasound of my abdomen they found I had a portal vein clot. They game me a CT scan and found a clot in my intestine and two in my lungs. I was admitted to the hospital and put on blood thinners. They checked my legs for clots but I had none. I feel better now and am home. Why did you have surgery? Surgery was never brought up for me?

I surprisingly don't mind people eating good food in front of me. I love the smells but don't care to eat it. It's really weird. Since being in the hospital I started eating soft foods. I had retried Beans with cream cheese mixed with taco seasoning and cheese on top! Nothing ever tasted better!
