  1. Hi Ed, Yes you should have some bruising and it will hurt for a few days. Think about it, they cut through your skin to get to your guts, this will take a week or so to heal. It is a small but deep cut so depending on your pain tolerence it will be tender to move these entry points. Put a pillow on your tummy and hold it tight with one hand, put your other hand behind your opposite knee and help yourself up, it will help alot. Good luck to you hope you feel better soon.

    I want a soda pop!

I was a major diet pepsi addict, 1-3 44oz a day. I can't stand the flavor of it now. And yes I did try to drink it, it just isn't the same, don't crave it anymore after I tried it. I am a huge water drinker now. I am also enjoying the money I save each month now that I am no longer addicted.

Heidi, Don't sweat it. You still ate protien, and a little mac n' cheese won't kill you. Don't beat yourself up. You still watched what you ate and did not over indulge, make today a new day and get back to it. Lisa

  6. change up your excercise, mess with your protien intake, write down what you are eating, making sure not to go over what calories you want to. It is easy to go over without meaning to without writing it down. I was banded in Nov o7 and have had quite a few stalls. I am at 47lbs and just keep plugging away. Hang in there your plateau will pass with patience.
  7. You have lost 30lbs, congrats, keep up the good work it will come, when it is ready to come off. Hang in there with the job and focus on the support not the harsh remarks. You are in control, you can do it.

Hi Heidi, So glad you have been approved how exciting. I was banded Nov 11 and have lost almost 50lbs. I am so glad I made this decision. It is not as life altering as you would think. I am not missing out on anything. Doing more things to be exact. Very, very happy with my decision and not looking back ever! Lisa

    Discouraged........what gives

Protien first and foremost. If you are doing 30 min. cardio a day and keeping your calories between 800-1000 you will be losing weight. Eliptical burns 400 cal in 30 min. If you just do 800 and cardio you will definetely jump start yourself, there is no way you can't. Good Luck, you can do it.

Welcome Alicia, Good luck on your trek to Mexico, My thoughts will be with you. Please come to our support group the second Tues of every month at Holy Family Hospital. 6:00 P.M.. There is a group of us that meet and drive from the valley, not sure where you are located but would love to have you join and get to know us. Support is one of the biggest helps you can get, I didn't think that it would be something that would interest me and really had to force myself to go the first time. Now I live for it, I have met so many awesome people. Hope to meet you at the meeting. Lisa

Is it wrong to tell a white lie???

I will keep my kids on not only on my health ins. but also my auto ins. for as long as I can, as I can get a better rate than they can. I would do anything to help my self sufficient children succeed in whatever they choose. It is very fortunate that you have had this support from your parents, and very sad that someone had to jump in and voice an opinion on something that wasn't even remotely close to the information you were asking about. Good luck and give that little girl a big hug. You are doing an amazing thing getting healthy for her.

    Hate Exercising- any suggestions?

At my gym you can tune your radio to the t.v. channels. Instead of watching your shows or listening to your music at home make it a rule you can only do it at the gym while you are working out. It makes your workout go faster and you get to enjoy your programs or music. If you don't go, you don't get to see the show that day.

    I'm eating a brownie... okay, 3.

Just because you have the band doesn't mean you can't eat the wrong things. It is a tool not a save all, will power is still necessary. It is still hard to lose the weight and takes alot of focus and correct choices. Just because you can doesn't mean you should, just like other choices in our lives!
