  3. Some doctors use different procedures but my doctor had me do the pre-banding diet and I lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks! :)

    Hi All,

I am prebanding and have been reading many of the posts. A couple of questions have come up now. First, I have read about having the sleed study first and have seen several posts about it, but my doctor isn't having me do that. Thoughts? I even asked him if he could test for it and he said that he would do a pulse ox in the hospital. Second, I noticed that some folks said that they weren't required to do a liquid diet pre-banding. I am supposed to, which is fine. Just wondering why some do and some don't?

    Thanks for the insight!

  4. I am back. So much going on in my life that I forgot to visit this website. THis site is great and I am doing great. Praise the lord. Thanks for all of your support. I am still losing! I have lost over 40 pounds since being banded 12/12/07. God is so good. I love my life and love the Lord! :)

AZChick..... welcome! It's a great thread! I have to update my ticker

Wombat..... love the before and after pictures!! You look fabulous!! You're an inspiration to me! Thanks for sharing them.

Livin.... what a great time with your sister in law! It's so amazing how God can take something that doesn't seem to be for our good and turn it into a positive experience for us. I love that!!:biggrin2:

  5. Try putting some split pea Soup in a magic bullet or blender. I love split pea soup and tried this. It worked great and was very filling too! God bless!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the warm words ( accepting words) and food suggestions. The yogurt tasted really good yesterday which is a miracle and a first. I just keep it around for my son but now Mom is going to eat her share. I have a clear and concise food list from Dr. Tersigni’s office but for some reason my thinking was " stuck" for lack of a better word. I can advance to soft foods four weeks after surgery. I’m just one week post op right now, so liquids only. Today I feel much less sore and bloated another miracle for me just when I needed it! Banster hell defiantly is where I was yesterday.

Today I’m going to make a soup, something homemade would taste good right about now. Even my cooking!!

  6. Joyross. Hang in there. we are all with you praying. By the way before my surgery I didn't like yougart. Then I starting eating it now and I have grown to like it. There is regular yougart and that thick kind which reminds me of chocolate mouse consistancy. Very tasty. You should try it! I will be praying for you!. God bless!

  7. Hey everyone, checking in for the night. And, the pizza idea sounds good to me too. I have eaten one piece, but it kept getting stuck in my throat. I wasn't taking little enough bites. That seems to be something I do too often. I'm learning to do better though.

And, thanks so much for the prayers. I will let you guys know when I hear something new.

I am forgetting sometimes to take little bites too. But the band remind me real quick. God bless!:rolleyes2:

  8. And there are other ways to satisfy your pizza craving... be creative. My Another pizza idea: DH is trying to lose some weight, too, so he just made himself some "pizza" for lunch. He used a slice of 45 calorie Sara Lee bread, toasted it, put some pizza sauce on it, a few pieces of diced ham, shredded some mozarella cheese on top and stuck it in the oven long enough to melt the cheese. He let me have a little triangle...three bites, and it was very good.

Thanks for that idea! I will have to try it soon! God bless!:D

  9. Candy8360 you mentioned "where we had totally lost everything we ever had." You forgot one and the most important thing/person. You had and still have God and with him alll things are possible. He healed the sick, made the blind see, made the crippled walk and he can mend your marrigae too! Think about this: Is prayer your steering wheel or is it your spare tire? The only way to learn strong faith is to endure great trials. God bless you.

  10. Candy8360 hang in there. God has heard your prayers and will answer it in his own way and in his own time. Be patient. We must patiently, believingly continue in prayer until we obtain an answer." I will be praying for you and your marriage. And I will be praying for all on this website. God bless his children
