    How many calories?

Mine was a lot like Aelovelady's. In the beginning it was hard to get 300 then it settled out around 600-700 for me for the longest time. I am now above that at 7 months out. I am active everyday and have lost 101 lbs. Also my meals/snacks run about 2 hours apart. I have coffee in the am, then a Protein shake for Breakfast and 2-3 hours later I eat a snack of protein, then a couple hours later lunch and 2-3 hours after that another snack (sometimes fruit because it's more filling) then something light for dinner but protein packed if possible. The main thing to differentiate between grazing and snacking is a PLANNED snack, otherwise you will graze. Eat the planned snack then wait till next meal. My NUT said she liked my frequency of eating. So I have stuck with it. Hope this helps!! Jennifer

    Total TMI

Krisstep when you get past the horrible feeling from using milk in cream of wheat, you might try a little of the yogurt. I have become lactose intolerant since my surgery but it does not include yogurt, cheeses etc, only the milk stuff is a problem for me. If it is a problem I think there are things for lactose intolerant people to take before they have dairy and it works for them to solve the problem.

    Total TMI

Milk of magnesia did the trick for me, then added colace on a regular basis. Drink plenty of fluids to help it work.

  5. I just wanted to clarify that I as well as anyone else going through this surgery, had all of the normals things to be expected immediately after surgery, gas, tenderness in abdomen, low energy, etc. This is major surgery and has things to contend with like any other surgery. Please do not think I flew through this like wonder woman, but as far as any Major complications, I have been lucky thus far. Now that being said, I followed all of my Dr.s orders to a T to avoid any undue complications and help in my recovery!!! Wishing all of you preops a to have the same as well!!! Jennifer

  7. I am 4 months, 70+ pounds down and feel GREAT!!! I work out 5 days a week plus walk 3 times throughout my day at work!!!! After getting through all the phases you can eat fairly normal within reason ( meaning low - sugar fat etc). I went back to work after only 9 days too!!! So far So Good!! Hoping it continues!!! sleeping was not an issue for me either...I'm a stomach sleeper, but I just slept propped up on my pillows till I was able to switch back!!! The only 2 nagging things for me is remembering to drink drink drink... and of course constipation...otherwise It's BEEN GREAT!!! Jennifer

    Dumping syndrome! Help!

I actually chose the RNY for the negative reinforcement of the dumping syndrome. Just the fear of it helps keep me in line so far...lol The surgery does have some negative side effects that may or may not affect you, but so too does being overweight. Best advice I can give is learn all you can about the surgeries and the health issues you may be facing from being overweight and then honestly weigh them out against each other. I did a lot of research, read the good bad & the ugly and made my choice. Jennifer

    Dumping syndrome! Help!

You can dump from sugar free foods sometimes because they use sugar alcohols in place which will make you dump just like sugar if you are prone to dumping. I found that out one night with sugar-free Italian ice :/
