  1. I took 4 weeks off, went back in 3, but could have returned after 2. I had both procedures and an extremely painful recovery period for 2 days. I told you that because I wasn't prepared for it after reading so many posts on here about people not having much pain. I thought "well that's gonna be me, too! Very little pain!" Wrong. Doc says it was from all the gas after a 4 hour procedure. I've never had such bad back pain. Anyway, pain was tolerable before I left 2 days later and I couldn't be happier with my decision. I'm down 40 pounds in 7 weeks. I have so much energy and I'm loving life!

  2. Oh OK good. So I'm right around where I need to be and won't have to feel guilty adding a few more. I'm just sooooooooo sick of meat and cheese and eggs. I'd like to start incorporating quinoa and homemade Protein Bars if I can find a good recipe. I know Protein bars generally have a lot of carbs for the small size. I just feel like if I don't start adding some variety soon I might set myself up for disaater

  3. I was sleeved on 4/8/15 and moving on to normal diet today (well, starting tomorrow). What is everyone's idea of a carb limit? I am basically living off less than 20 per day at this point. I don't plan on going overboard but I definitely am more concious of reading labels and watching what I put in my mouth now. I guess I just want to know what is a safe carb goal to keep me losing? I don't see NUT for another 10 days and I can't find it in my paperwork anywhere.

  4. Hi all. I was sleeved on 4/8. I've always been a drinker getting at least 90 ounces of fluids a day, primarily Water. Fortunately I was able to drink just as much after surgery. I am still getting about 90 ounces a day of Water and crystal light. Again, 80% is water. However I am not peeing as much. Probably only 4 times a day as opposed to pre-surgery peeing of 10-12 times a day. I've asked my NUT and she said it's fine as long as my urine is clear and my mouth isn't dry. Why does this happen? Where does all the Fluid go?

That brings me to my next question. I'm not losing weight and I wonder if I'm retaining all this Fluid somewhere? I'm not swollen in my hands or feet. I lost 22 pounds since surgery but nothing in almost 2 weeks. It's really discouraging since I'm following the diet and also walking about 5 miles per day. I don't understand it. I have a fear that this is it. I've lost 20 pounds and I'm not going to lose any more. I've read posts that there is a "3 week stall" but I've passed that point. I see the doc on Tuesday for my one month post op and will talk to him as well but I wanted some opinions from people who have gone through it.

  5. Hi all,

I was sleeved on 4/8. Had a rough time for the first few days post op. The gas is the pits. Back to feeling myself now except for the exhaustion that has taken over my body. I get to eat today. I'm starting with an egg and an ounce of mozzarella cheese. I'm hoping the calories and nourishment help with the fatigue. Does the fatigue last anyway? Despite new foods? I'm so tired I'm in bed by 7:30 every night with a two hour nap during the day. Bonus: down 15 pounds since surgery!

  6. As someone who has worked in ob/gyn for over 16 years I can tell you that dramatic weight loss usually benefits periods since your hormones are more under control. However I can't, nor can anyone, tell you that for sure. I have personally seen periods change for the better after weight loss. But I'm not a doctor and your doc may be better suited to answer that question. Best of luck to you!

  7. thanks, everyone! I'm 5 days preop and I'm so super excited! I have no concerns anymore. I've been exercising consistently and I think that helps a lot. It keeps my mind occupied and of course I feel better after I do it and I think "that wasn't so hard!!!"... My goal is to lose 100 pounds but I know I'll be hap-hap-happy when I come off my blood pressure meds!!!!! Hope everyone is doing well and have a great Easter/Passover weekend!

  8. Hi all,

This is my first post. My surgery is 4/8 and I am starting to have this overwhelming feeling (and sometimes dreams) that my surgery won't work and I will have done all this preop for nothing. I guess I can't grasp that I will feel full after 1/4 cup of food. It's so hard to imagine. Did anyone else feel like this? I'm worried to the point of actually canceling to avoid the surgery. I know it's probably a silly fear but it's a fear nonetheless. I also started the two week preop diet about 4 weeks ago on my own and am losing consistently. I've lost about 20 pounds on my own since mid-January. I don't know if that's contributing to this feeling? I'm so nervous! Help!
