    My Texas Sleevers

Denton here. I will have surgery through True Results in Richardson with Dr. Nicholson on April 6th.
  3. I am going through True Results in Richardson for my sleeve surgery. I just got approved through insurance and am waiting on TR to call to schedule the surgery. Should be less than a month now. Yay! Best of luck to you.
  4. I am a little over half-way through the process my insurance company (CIGNA) requires before Gastric Sleeve surgery. My family and friends are on board. My Doctor is on board. I'm tired of being overweight. I am a researcher. I love to study and I have probably over-studied the Gastric Sleeve, but I have a couple more nagging questions. Can you help me out? 1. If you've had the Gastric Sleeve, would you do it again? 2. What was/were the thing(s) that surprised you the most after you had the surgery?

    I have a surgery date!

Awesome! I'm hoping for end of March or the first week in April. I handle life with prayer. I will be praying for you as you start this exciting journey!
  6. I'm so happy to read about your successes! Woohoo! Thank you for inspiring me. :-)
  7. Good morning, Maybe you should read what you wrote from an outsiders perspective. If you read all of that, but it was about a friend or a stranger, what would your advice be? Marriage only magnifies problems. If you're having this much trouble now -- it will certainly get way worse when you're married. I hate saying that, but I've lived it. I've been divorced from it now for almost 12 years and it still haunts me and my daughters daily. It is much better to realize this now instead of after you two have a marriage/family. I'm saying this out of some hard-earned wisdom: get some serious relationship help now or get out. I handle life with prayer. I'm praying for your situation today. -Melissa

    OMG FINALLY!

    Yay!!
  9. Awesome that you've recovered so well and are going on - better than ever. Congrats on your weight loss success. My worries are lessening by the day.
  10. That's so awesome that you are freed of weight gain worries. I love that you call it a lifestyle change. I'm trying to adjust my life now (6 weeks out) so that I just ease into it. Sorry for the hormonal changes. I wondered if I would have some of that also. We'll see. I'm ready! Congrats on your success. Enjoy the journey.
  11. Interesting about the energy levels. I'm a researcher too. I'll look into that and also take your advice on looking up shake recipes! Thanks. Congrats on your victories. Woo Hoo!!
  12. I'm so sorry you had that happen (the post-op infection). I'm glad you've had success since the surgery. Congrats on the new you! So exciting!
  13. I LOVE that you found your inner athlete. I used to run 3 miles a day. I'm looking forward to THAT again. So glad you've had so little discomfort. Congrats on your success. YAY!!
  14. Yay! Then I can save up for that trip I'm rewarding myself with for reaching my goal!!
  15. Your words inspire me! I know it won't be easy, but like you said - you cannot deny results. Congrats on taking this journey. I will start mine soon. :-)
  16. I've been wondering about the pain level. I've also had c-sections. I figure if I can go through that, then I can go through this. Congrats on your new life.
  17. Wow. Awesome that you're liking it. I've been hearing about how little food you eat after. That should save me some serious money that I usually spend eating out. Congrats on your successes.
  18. Glad you have changed your life. An ounce, eh? Wow.
  19. Congrats on your success. I'd LOVE to not be so hungry. What I'm looking forward to is getting back into the gym. I've been dealing with depression and anxiety from an emotionally abusive situation I was in and I gained so much weight this year that going to the gym is now painful instead of something I love. Now that THAT situation is over - I'm ready for a new life in every way. I'm ready to be a new woman!
  20. Ah. The emotional stuff IS a concern for me. I've had depression and anxiety for a while. Thanks for this reminder to watch out for that. Your weight loss is inspiring!! I'm so happy you've had so much success. So amazing!
  21. Awesome!! So glad you had none of the above and that you're on your way to a new life. You ROCK! The more of these I read - the more motivated I feel.
  22. Yay! Fun is, well - FUN!! Congrats on your new life and all my best on your continued wonderful journey.
  23. Oh yay! I'm glad you had such a good recovery. Yes - the diet/food industry is a racket. I was just thinking today about how much time we spend each day thinking about or hearing about the goods and evils of food. Easier walking and standing would be AWESOME. I can't wait. Thanks for your advice and congrats on your new life.
  24. Chicken, huh? Interesting. Cartwheels are fun. I'm so glad you've had such a pain-free ride. I figure each surgery has its own kind of aches and pains. Thanks for your thoughts, congrats to you, and eat mor chiken! :-)
