  1. I am 53 years old and was banded November 19, 2007. I have lost 80 pounds but am not moving past that. I exercise regularly (5-6 days/week) and eat a very healthy diet. I've done really well but have about another 120-130 pounds to take off. The weight loss was moving really fast at first but now I'm stuck. If anyone can offer any suggestions, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks very much. Lisa

I don't know how to do all the little weight trackers and icon things so I'll start out simple and maybe I'll get it after awhile. Congrats to all of you out there!!
  3. Hi-my bad-I noticed it was over right after I clicked to send the reply. I would definitely like to go to the new thread-see you there and thank you!!!
  4. Just had my 3rd fill-6cc's. Doc tells me this is an 18cc band. I'm feeling really different after this last fill (yesterday). I don't know if this is fullness or hunger but my stomach is making all kinds of growling noises-who knows? I feel very good about the band though-I've lost 59 pounds since my surgery 11-19. lisawach

  6. Hey crispy! Haven't talked to you in awhile. You sound like you're doing really well. I saw that your fill was 4cc's. I only got 2 but I have noticed a difference. I can eat but not a whole lot. I sure was glad to get off the clears and have solid food again-weren't you?? I'm still being careful about what I eat and how much. After all this I've finally decided to TOTALLY change my outlook-I finally feel like there's hope after all. You hang in there...you're doing great!!...and it's really nice to "talk" to you again...good luck girl!!! Lisa
  7. Hi- Very happy to be a nymph! I was banded on the 19th, first fill was 1-3 and I'm down 36 pounds as of this morning. YOU GUYS ARE SUCH AN INSPIRATION! Thanks to all for your support. Lisa
  8. Hi- How much saline for your 2nd fill? I just had my first-2cc's. I could eat a pretty good amount but I'm watching myself and really not eating all that much-lots of Protein and that keeps me pretty full. The dr. also said he didn't want me eating more than an ounce at a time and not at all if I'm not hungry but I can certainly down more than an ounce! I'm also real sore where my doc stuck me for the fill-is that normal? He did it day before yesterday and I must say, it's pretty ouchy still. It's nice having everyone to go through this with! Lisa
  9. Indigogirl- Your words are so true and so inspirational! I was banded on 11-19, have lost 36 pounds, just had my first fill 1-3 and am doing great! I was surprised that I didn't feel a whole lot different but I do get full easier. I am making good food choices and exercising regularly. I'm working on the head And the body-I feel so much better already. Thanks for a great message and good luck to all of us!! Lisa
  10. Hi crispy-I was banded the 19th also and have had absolutely NO problems-I lost 25 lbs. at my last Dr. visit on the 6th so I'm happy. I haven't had the "full" feeling some people talk about but I'm not starving either-I'm just happy to have had this done at this point. Good luck to all of us!
  11. I got banded on the 19th and have not felt any restriction at all but am still on real soft foods. I'm not trying to hurry through the steps so I don't think I've eaten over a cup of anything at one time. I'm glad someone else isn't getting the full feeling-sometimes you just think you're the only one going through some of this stuff I guess.
  12. Debbie- I don't know where you are but here thereis a terrible flu going on. I was banded on the 19th and have not had any problems-I feel so bad for you. I hope you feel better doon! Lisa

  14. Hi my name is Lisa. I live in Gainesville Fl. I was banded on Nov. 19th and doing well. I have been married 29 years to my guy and we have 3 sons. Eric is 26 and living on his own. Chris is going to be 24 Dec. 2nd and is applying for grad school and Brian (my baby) is 22 and is a junior in the Landscape Architecture program at the Univ. of Florida. I recently lost my other "baby" after 12.5 wonderful years with her. She was a beautiful husky mix and I miss her terribly! I work at the Univ. of Fl. in the Cancer Center doing regulatory work for clinical trials in pediatric hematology/oncology. It's really nice to have you guys out there so there's someone to go through all this with. Looking forward to talking with any and all of you. This is great! Lisa
  15. Hi- I tried to add me-I'm new here but another user told me about this thread so I'm glad to be here. Had my band done on the 19th and feeling good. I'm looking forward to hearing how everyone's doing. Thanks very much for your help with this! Lisa
  16. Hi- I was banded 8 days ago and yes, the port side was painful but it wasn't so bad by about the 4th day. Lisa
  17. I'll check that out-thanks very much.
  18. Hi- how are you feeling? I feel pretty good. I went out today for the first time with my husband and got pretty tired. I don't know if I'm weak or just tired from the surgery.
  19. Hi-do you want to correspond strictly e-mail or would you like to do it here? Either way I'll be happy to talk with you. Lisa
  20. Hi- The diet is really whatever your doc says. I started out with ice chips in the hospital the first night. I stayed pretty much with Water and my Protein drinks. Since I've been home, my liquids are my Protein Drinks, popsicles (no sugar), no sugar Jello, and broth. I'm just taking it slow and easy-no stuffing. You'll do fine-just listen to your doctor and dietician. Good luck!
  21. I was just banded but would love to do something like this down the road!
  22. Glad you're doing so well. I feel really good too. I've been on clears and protein drinks and yogurt and pudding. I also tried liquified cream of broccoli soup today and it was GREAT! My dietician said I could do clears and full liquids after the first few days. I'm doing ok with no problems - I just take it slow and small sips. I hope you continue to do well-isn't this great!
  23. Can anyone out there tell me what "PB" is? I keep seeing it but don't know what it means. Thanks.
  24. Bob- I am so glad to hear from you! I'm glad you're doing well-I knew you would! I didn't sleep in the hospital either and the care left a lot to be desired-they really didbn't know what to do with me but I got home and got a shower (which was WONDERFUL) and slept like a baby. I've been on protein drinks, lots of water, had some chicken broth last night and some jello. I even tried some yogurt and did great with that. I've been making the effort to get all my protein in. I'm really not too sore except where the port is but the doc told me that would be more sore than anything. So, that's it in a nutshell my friend. I'm glad you wrote and I'm glad you're doing well. Keep in touch and hang in there! I'll talk to you soon. Lisa
  25. Hi- I'm really doing ok. I thought this would be much worse but the pain is not bad and I haven't vomited at all. I've done exactly what I was told to and I've been fine. Had some gas a couple of days but that's gone now too. I have to say the post op so far is not unbearable and early Tuesday they got me on the scale and 15 pounds was gone but I was on liquids 3 days before going in too...still not too bad. I wish you the best of luck-I'm sure you'll do great! Hang in and get back in touch and let me know how you're doing! Lisa
