I haven't had surgery yet, but some really good advice I've heard was to bring your own pillow with you to the hospital. A couple reasons why is because you have a comfort of home, if you put a different color pillow case on it, you won't forget it, and plus it's good cushion for your belly on your ride home from the hospital. Place it between your body and your seat belt.
This is good advice, I found that I didn't need anything between the seatbelt, but everyone is different

Get up out of bed as soon as they will let you, walk as much as possible around the hospital, it will help with the gas pain so much

I was 418lb, after 8 weeks (4 weeks of Optifast and currently 4 weeks post op) I've lost 57lb. I had the sleeve
-
Four weeks out, I can honestly say no regret ever. Even when just waking up and laying in my hospital bed, I haven't regretted it at all. I admit that I was lucky and had a very smooth recovery with no bumps whatsoever
-
It was what my surgeon recommended for me, and I trust his judgment completely. At 4 week post op, I'm glad I did, had nothing but smooth sailing.

It is reversible but only in a situation that would warrant it being reversed, not just "I don't like it".

You can spray mountain bread with a little olive oil spray then bake for 5 minutes then break it apart

If it's what I'm thinking of, and it happens to me from time to time, while your in that nearly asleep state, your breathing and heartbeat is slowing down a little too much and your brain will give you a jolt to make sure your breathing enough

Yes! I have these dreams several nights a week, I'm only 3 weeks out. I think it was last night that I dreamt I was eating McNuggets while I was still on purée. No idea where they are coming from, hopefully they will stop soon
-
Even though I followed my pre-op diet extremely well, I was still worried this would happen to me. I have no idea why, but it was in the back of my mind that it would

I had my sleeve on 20 November, it's still early days but I can notice some slimming in my face already, and my feet, they aren't puffy balloons anymore!

I've told everyone, I am glad I did, I have had nothing but support from everyone. It is a really personal decision to tell people or not. If you tell people, then you can have an amazing support system. If you choose not to tell people, it isn't their business to know anyway. There isn't a right or wrong answer on whether or not to tell people.

I'm the exact same, I'm 8 days post op and started purees yesterday, so far I haven't had that "full" feeling yet. I've heard it can be because liquids and purees can slide easily through the sleeve, was anybody else the same?

I'm doing well, I've only had one wave of nausea which was momentary, the gas pain is very low now. I feel extremely lucky that I'm doing so well.Yay, Naomi! Glad to see you through the other side! Keep us up to date on the recovery and beyond.
Xx
How are you going? Have you started the Optifast yet, your date should be coming up soon

I just weighed and took measurements and I have lost 18 pounds and 19 inches (from waist, hips, thighs, knee, calf, chest, upper arm, forearm, and "bust") since I started the 2-week pre-op diet!! So excited to start seeing the scale moving down, down, DOWN!!!
That is such an amazing start to your journey, wishing you all the best

Good luck with it! Mine was today. Sending positive thoughts your way
-
Got mine done yesterday, doing well, minimal pain or nausea. Good luck to anyone with surgery coming up
-
It's such an incredible relief when you wake up, knowing that your safe. I worried myself sick for the week leading up, positive I wouldn't make it through
-
No, surgery was around 2pm, nausea and pain are not too bad, I'm just mostly uncomfortable
-
Hey fellow Aussie sleevers, I'm done! Surgery went well, I'm in HDU, doing well

@@froody , I did this too and gained quite a bit, it's now coming off since I started the preop diet and I've stuck to it to a tee. Enjoy these indulgences, but remember, you will be able to eat these things again eventually, just in very small portions and occasionally.
@@smileygal , great to hear you've lost so much already, you must feel fantastic, hopefully your wounds won't take to much longer to heal up, are you able to feel the stitches poking through? I'd find that so irritating
exercise after surgery, what did you start with?

Swimming, it's my go to exercise because it's low impact which is great for my back. I'm 5 weeks today and I can't wait to get into the gym to do some weight training
