  1. I was sleeved on March 10th and have great success with my weight loss. I've lost 35 pounds in the last 6 weeks and am able to start a normal diet now. However, there's only been a couple of times since I had the surgery that I have felt that "restriction" or full feeling that everyone talks about. In fact I asked my doctor at my visit a couple of weeks ago and she said don't worry, you'll start feeling full when you start eating more solid foods. Well, not really feeling it. I'm able to eat and I only stop because I know I should. I had 5 oz of lean protein for dinner tonight with no issue at all. Has anyone else experienced this? Isn't that restriction what everyone hopes to feel? Also, my surgeon gives guidelines on what to eat, but curious how much food (meals/snacks and amounts at each) that everyone is eating. Could really use some advise. Thanks!
  2. Surgery was on March 10th and for the first 2 weeks I was on thin liquids (Protein shakes, broth, Water, Soup etc...). Yesterday I was able to start pureed food, between 1/2- 1 cup of food. Have been eating cottage cheese, pureed turkey chili, hummus, sugar free ice pops but I haven't yet had that full or "knowing when to stop" feeling that everyone talks about. This is scaring me because I feel as if I could eat more. Is this normal? Will I ever get that "full" feeling everyone talks about after this surgery. Don't want to overeat so please any advice would be great.
  3. @@BlueSky when were you sleeved? What/how much and how often were you eating during the pureed stage?
  4. Surgery was Tuesday March 10th and was feeling great (probably due to the pain pump). Since yesterday morning, however, I've become extremely uncomfortable...cramping, very bad gas which I can't get out, tummy rumbling etc..,,is this all normal? Also, sipping as they said but nearly impossible to get the 50g of protein in. Did like 20g yesterday alternating with water. Is this all normal to everyone and if so, how long does this last? I've been taking the liquid pain medicine and the pill for spasms every 4 hours like clockwork which seems to help. Anyone similar? Help and advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks !
  5. It's been 1 week and im definitely feeling much better and able to take a good amount of liquids down (trying to have 5 protein shakes a day). Is it normal to feel hungry and my energy level is also really low. I'm assuming its normal because I've been on liquids for3 weeks but when will the hunger pains go away??
  6. My surgery is in a few hours. I'm can't believe the day is here. Very nervous but trying to relax and think of the big picture. It's the unknown that's giving me the hardest time. Good luck to everyone!
  7. I'm on day 9 of my pre op diet and is anyone else finding it getting harder each day? In the beginning I wasn't craving much food nor was I hungry but now it seems like each day gets harder and harder. Surgery is Tuesday March 10th in NYC.

  11. GNC sells Lean Shakes which have 25 grams of protein and were recommended by my surgeon and they're by far the best tasting ones I've tried.

    March Sleevers

I'm set for March 10th. Starting to get nervous and tons of things running through my head. Start my liquid diet on the 24th. Recommendations for good protein shakes?
  14. I'm one of those that has always struggled with weight, in fact the first time I was on a diet was Weight Watchers in the 4th grade. I'm now 38 and in the last 28 years I've been on all of them, most more than once or twice and I'm finally at the point where I can say I'm done. Vanity aside, the panting walking up a flight of steps, achy ankles and knees, high blood pressure to name a few. I looked into the lap band about a year ago but ultimately I decided on the sleeve as a better option for me. I'm in NYC and having my surgery with Dr. Christine Ren. Just had my first of 4 appointments, so most likely wont be eligible for surgery until February. I really liked her and she seems to have a great bedside manner which I appreciated. I'd love to hear advice, pre and post surgery, benefits, cons, anything at all is appreciated! NYC here.
