  1. I was banded in Feb. I have had 6 fills and can still eat quite a bit. I have 6.25cc's at this point and only feel a little restriction. I have not lost any weight since thefirst 15 pounds the first month out. I am wondering if this is going to work for me

  2. I live in Central NY and I had a BMI of 36, by the time I had the surgery I was a 33. I have fibromylgia but I didn't have any of the other things they like to see wrong with people. My insurance covered it 100%. I don't think you have to worry about the insrance coving it with all the things you have wrong.

  3. It is good to see that I must be normal for once. Today is the first day I have felt good. I also have been only comfortable in a recliner. I took the pain meds alot and Gas X strips they work miracles quickly. I heard how everyone was doing good the next day and thought I would be too but as you see we might be the rule rather than the exception. As far as food it got real hard until I called the doctors office and found out that 6 days after surgery I should be on regular food only blenderized. No more liquids thank GOD.

  4. Today is my 8th day banded and also got the flu. My whole family has it now because we brought it home from the hospital with us. One of my nurses had it. The gas was real bad for me too but it stopped yesterday completely. I have alot of restriction. I can only eat about 4 ounces of food at a time. It is hard to get it in actuall I am not getting it all in. It is impossible at this point. I wish you well

  5. The whole process starts with the weight you are when you go to the first visit with the WLS team. MY BMI was 36. They required me to lose 10 pounds before the surgery, now my BMI is 33. I am due to have the surgery Tuesday. They do not take into consideration all you have lost. They will require you to lose at least 10 pounds from the weight you went to the first visit weighing. You do not want to lose anymore until you get your first weigh in.

  6. I have posted before but I wanted to let everyone know what was going on. I am due to be banded on Tuesday. Yesterday(Friday) The insurance said they denied me because of my weight. I weighed 206 when I went in for my first visit and was required to lose 10 pounds. When I did that I feel below the 35 BMI so I didn't qualify anymore. I was so mad that I had gone through 6 months of testing and did everything they wanted and then I didn't qualify because I had followed their requirements. Well anywyas the doctor had a talk with my insurance MVP and they changed their minds and aproved it again. The insurance company is required to go by your starting weight.

Now I am a little nervous again. Can anyone tell me what they had on hand to eat when they came home from the hospital. I want to be prepared

    Thanks everyone
