  1. I'm 2 months post op and I love sushi too but I can't have much of the rice. Order the shashimi instead, if your from Hawaii POKE rules! Anyways I still share sushi with friends/family from time to time and just eat the center lol.

  2. Im doing purees at the moment. I do chew very well. I haven't had anything to spicy, caffeine, carbonated. It's rare that I use a straw one pack of a Protein shake has a straw lol like caprisun drinks.

Ive noticed hiccups before when I ate scrambled eggs I thought I ate too fast so I stopped. I generally stop as soon as any discomfort hits (acid, hiccups... Never sneezing).

I even experience this with Water so I think I must be full but ill never get more than 40oz liquid at this rate.

  3. I'm 3.5 wk post op and it feels like everything I consume gives an acid reflux feeling. I don't know if it means I'm full? I don't care to eat or drink because of this. I take Omeprazole every other day like the doc recommended.

It's this normal? Will I basically have acid reflux for rest of my life? It wad never an issue before but my surgeon did a hiatal hernia repair during sleeve. 3 more weeks till follow up appointment.

  4. Similar thing happened to me for the EGD. I paid $420 during preregistration, then a bill for $340 cane in mail. I'm just paying it because it goes toward my out of pocket maximum whatever I don't pay here just would have come later in my out of pocket. I hit the max just before the surgery...

  5. @@scootie my 36 hours I was a mess too. My pain was only a 4, but my nausea was an 8. I couldn't stay up for more than 5 mins I made myself keep going back to sleep because being up sucked. Then boom I finally woke up feeling 100xs better my surgeon said all the anesthesia finally cleared my system. I started taking walks alone and so on. I barely requested pain meds from the nurse that night. Anyhow yes it totally gets better!

  6. Problems in my relationship was the finally straw that convinced me that I needed a whole life change and so I made an appointment to see a surgeon. (Bariatric surgery is something I wanted to do since 2010.)

Anyhow we aren't 100% broken up at the moment but I don't know what that future holds.

Im curious are people getting divorced because they are prettier so they attract some new prospects? Or because a bad/mean/jealous/unsupportive spouse...

  7. Both ways of losing weight are hard but what these people dont understand is that less than 5 percent of morbidly obese individuals succeed in losing a significant amount of weight and maintaining the weight loss with non-surgical programs.

That's the difference between your family member or friend who did it by exercise & diet only they probably weren't morbidly obese. If they are morbidly obese lets keep an eye to see if they yo-yo.

This is hard in a different way and truely a life change that can't be undone.

  8. Only one person said that to me, Ive never updated that person on my status. My family has been supportive I think they all know someone that's had a lot of success with bariatric so they were on board immediately saying "how can I help". I never really spoke to my older brothers about it but I think we give each other enough respect to live our lives the way we see fit.
