    Dating after the sleeve

Thanks for the support everyone. I'm enjoying me time right now by getting healthy and loving myself. I'm 40lbs down and confident more than ever. However, my soon-to-be ex-husband was never confident in himself. I was always his cheerleader. When I needed time to take care of myself, he checked out of our relationship. He sought his sense of confidence from other people and things. I'm taking the time for me and fostering my relationships with my girlfriends. It's a fresh start and I'm excited for what's head. I don't want to date anytime soon, but it's good to know I'm not alone in this WLS journey. Thanks for the love everyone.

    Dating after the sleeve

Thanks. I will check out the singles forum. Thanks for sharing your story too. I can eat more some days than others- anywhere from a cup to 5 bites I hope my scars fade too. I'm a confident lady but sometimes it's awkward to tell others what you've been through.
  3. So I'm 4 months post sleeve surgery and down 40lbs. My unsupportive husband decided he wasn't in love with me and we are in the process of divorcing. The divorce was no surprise. Unfortunately he didn't want the marriage or work for it like I tried. Anyway I'm looking forward to dating later this year and meeting new people. I'm 30 yo. But food and alcohol are often part of the dating process. Luckily I never was much of a drinker. I can only imagine going out and eating 4 bites and being full. How do you deal with this? What about the scars? When do you tell your sleeve story? I'm excited but scared of dating. Any advice from fellow sleevers is appreciated.

    Back Pain

Any updates? I did the sleeve 10/2014 because of my back and hip problems (ddd, stenosis, facet atrophy, and now hip tendonapthy). I have no regrets for doing the sleeve. I feel like the degeneration has slowed way down. But the damage that has been done is done. Now it's hard to figure out my options to deal with the pain. NSAIDs can't be used like before. I'm off to physical therapy again. Also my body needs more strengthening to readjust to the weight loss of 40lbs. Any suggestions on how to deal with back/hip pain after the sleeve? I'm only 30 yo.

    OCTOBER SLEEVERS- How Ya Doin'?

Oct 22. HW 237 CW 217 today. I'm so excited to start solid foods on turkey day. Ready for my 2 bites of turkey
  7. My surgeon was Dr. Eric Dutson at UCLA medical center in Westwood, CA. His NP Anna and nutritionist was very helpful throughout the process. The nurses before, during, and in recovery were phenomenal and made my experience the best it could be. Highly recommended.
  8. @"bobbyswife": I hope this is the case. I've asked my PCP, pain dr, and surgeon and no one knows why. My labs are normal. I'm hoping it's my body adjusting to the weight loss and it will resolve soon. I'm restarting my high dose vitamin D since I had to wait 4 wks post surgery. I'm hoping that will help. Thanks for the support.
  9. I also have DDD from L4-S1. I gained so much weight from steroid injections and lack of exercise from chronic pain. At age 30, I decided to take the risk and had gastric sleeve on 10-23-14. Since surgery I've had terrible achy leg pain on both legs. That keep me up at night. I try resting. Exercising. But no relief except from oxycodone for a couple hours. I too hope the weight loss helps with the pain and slows down the degeneration. Thanks for this post. I feel better that I'm not alone.
