    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

BLT fish? to quote my horoscope again "The hardest part of making changes in your life isn't thinking up ways to change - - it's putting that change into action! You need a lot of self-discipline to get started" I see a pattern here, ya need to work on the restaurant thing.

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

I have the best horoscope today. "The hardest part of making changes in your life isn't thinking up ways to change - - it's putting that change into action! You need a lot of self-discipline to get started - especially today, when your energy is going to be challenged by the demands people are putting on you. They are draining you and it might be time to get some alone time to recharge. A helpful friend is ready to step in to lend a hand or just be your cheerleader, so don't be too proud to accept their aid." I got excused from jury duty. WooHoo. Something about my son being a Corrections Officer where the defendant is being held and my daughter in law being an Assistant District Attorney in the office that is prosecuting. I said it wouldn't effect my decision but... Im back at work. Putting out fires again. I wish I had been chosen for a nice simple civil trial of about 2-3 days. A little variation from normal. On the plus side a friend has a beach house and asked me out this weekend. WooHoo 2X

I have a problem with social situations and eating/drinking. I seem to get talking and before I know it my hand is in the chips or my drink is empty. My Dr gave me a good trick. He said to bring something to do with my hands. A charm in my pocket or hold my sunglasses. Just something to keep them out of the bowls. As to drinks set a pattern of 3:1. Three water to one booze. Either you will get alot of water or make your booze last longer.

    making changes

Sometimes horoscopes hit it on the button. "The hardest part of making changes in your life isn't thinking up ways to change -- it's putting that change into action! You need a lot of self-discipline to get started -- especially today, when your energy is going to be challenged by the demands people are putting on you." So true!

Harley- Yellowstone is beautiful!! Taking food with you is great. Planning your meals is is wonderful way to stay on track. Good luck!!
  10. I rescheduled the training sessions I will miss while on jury duty. I going to have a few late nights and a chunk out of a Saturday but Im happy not to be missing the time in the gym. I do feel better/happier while I am working out. My trainer was not available for the night workouts so Im giving another a try. I cleared my desk at work so I can go to jury duty with a clear conscience. I know I will have to come in a few evenings or no one is going to get paid. The scale still seems to be going down. Happy dance. I have a fill scheduled for 7/7. All is good. Im off to my book.

    Any Long Islanders?

whoops I thought today was Wednesday and the group was yesterday. But I will see you next month. How did the meeting go Jenna?
  13. Jury duty! I got placed on a jury. A BIG, ugly case. I am not a happy camper. Im told it will last at least 4 weeks. This will really put a crimp in my training schedule. I just ramped up to 3 times a week and I had a really good time slot. Now I will probably lose the time slot and I will have to train at night and on the weekend. Not to mention stress eating. This will be a good test of my new habits. On the bright side I got a new wash machine and dryer. I love new toys and Im easily amused. I sat and watched the washer (front loader w/ glass door) swish the clothes for about 15 minutes. Ok Im off to watch the dryer now.

Happy Band-iversary!! Every day you are working towards a better you. To quote Maya Angelou, “When you know better, you do better.” Knowing is half the battle & the band is the other half. That cruise should be pretty soon?

    Any Long Islanders?

Hey Jenna, you and Lynette should get together. You're both about the same age and close to banding dates. I was banded in March with Dr Powers. Im planning on going to the July 15 support group at Syosset. I would have gone last night if I had remembered. You folks should give it a shot too.

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

not a bad number it's called a plateau and they will happen and they do end fenton said a really good thing a while back something like "when I feel hunger it reminds me that I am losing weight and that is good" good for you I too am working hard with a trainer and not seeing fast results. are you? trading what you want most-weight loss-for what you what at the moment-a treat-. don't be suprised if you are taking small bites & chewing well it should go down, don't put it in your mouth it won't go down thank god me either maybe you should try the 5 day pouch test-http://5daypouchtest.com/. guys are dense I love Chinese food, steamed chicken and broccoli w/garlic sauce a small glass every so often isn't going to hurt, talk with him about how he can support you and research what you can have at restaurants before you go so you will be ready to go anywhere here you go talk with your Dr about your concerns. good luck with that, probably like getting a Wii fit here Ok that is my take on this. Relax you're doing great. It took a while to gain the weight it will take a while to drop it. Hugs to your husband for his service to the USA!!

Fenton the case is in Nassau. As it stands I "knew of" a few witnesses because my husband is retired from the NCPD. But since I don't really "know" them it was ok. It is going to kill me to not talk about it with everyone I know. I can never keep a secret (well the "inconfidence ones" I can), I am tormented at christmas not telling folks their gifts. I am not looking forward to the stuff you would testify about. Regarding Mountain Creek in Vernon have you heard of google maps?

I was placed on a jury today. It is supposed to run at least until the second week of July. I was just getting into my routine with my trainer. I don't want to miss 4 weeks. I will have to call and see if I can get times in the evening and/or on the weekend. I am not looking forward to jury duty either. Its a big, ugly case. Can anyone say stress eating?:frown:

Kerri the skinny B is probably thinking you're staring at her and thinking she is fat. Cut yourself some slack. You have just as much a right to be there as anyone else.

    Progress Pics, Anyone?

I can't seem to get the pics up in the correct size. I'll try again soon. How about someone else posting theirs?
  25. ajoneen

    Getting to know me.

Hi Rebecca One thing you will learn with the band is that you will have to learn the difference of eating until full and eating until no longer hungry. It is the latter that you are striving for. You will learn to "listen" to your body and "feel" new signals. This doesn't happen right away and some banders never learn. If you do you will be VERY successful. If you don't you will struggle. Other then that GOOD JOB on the loss so far. You are right on track.
