Have lost weight but body looks the same
You know that losing weight from your belly is the last to go. It is ridiculous to think we lose weight from fingers, toes, earlobes, legs,arms...ect before our stubborn stomach fat goes anywhere. Just stay strong and true to your weight loss and work out routine and you will eventually see the difference. The same goes with me. I don't see it but since my first pair of goal jeans button I know that there is weight loss in that area and eventually you and everyone else will see it! Good luck and your weight loss so far is amazing!

How long did you take time off before going back to work....
I have a high impact and yes stressful job, I was cleared medically to go back after two weeks. One ask your surgeon and two base it on how you feel. I got cabin fever sitting at home! Good luck!

this might be a bit awkward but....
Yea I recommend taking miralax or a lil bit of fiber every day I had to go to the hospital due to impaction. It was embarrassing and painful to say the least. Lesson learned!

Four months transformation
wow close to 60 lbs for couple of weeks? That's awesome. Its funny how we all lose so differently. I just barely lost 70 lbs since January 15th. Good for you, I hope that I can see such a dramatic difference in myself one day!

Not losing enough on pre-op diet
Is your doctor or insurance requiring you to lose a certain amount of weight or is it more to make sure that you have no weight gain for liver enlargement issues? Mine was so my liver did not get larger and not for the weight loss. I only lost 10 lbs on my MONTH long pre-op. Just double check with your surgeon and Nut. If you are truly doing everything you can then don't beat yourself up. We all don't lose the same.

Any suggestions, ladies especially....
Yea mine got pretty severe after surgery. This will sound lame but working out really helped me and also wearing a menstrual cup. I had never thought of doing these things before but I noticed after the third month that my symptoms were greatly relieved and my periods were a lot shorter where was super helpful. Try intaking more water too. Good luck mine was pretty bad and I hope you work it out!

@@Aprilhoffman78 Well let me just give you this lil bit of an alternative. I there are soft chew vitamins that you can take kinda like the viactiv and my chewable b12 they are called celebrate. You might be interested in those. I have not gotten any but my cousin says they taste pretty decent and she loves them. Maybe this will open up some options for you. Good luck!

@@Eli Alexander You look AWESOME. @@Aprilhoffman78 I was low on iron and b12 which i got a shot for and just all vitamins in general. I take a bariatric multivitamin that I got at vitamin world chewable and grape flavored not the best but I just drink some water with it and it seems to be OK. Guess we just don't absorb the vitamins we use to. Forever he said i need to keep up on it.

@@Aprilhoffman78 two things. One you look so beautiful in your pic! and second I to got a rash and went to my pcp. My was cause I too was low in much needed vitamins. So I got back on my vitamins and popped a claritin and called it a day. Since then I have not had any problems. Oh and I had some good news this week I fit into my goal jeans of size 16 yay and I started going back to the gym 5 times a week and making sure I at least burn those 500 calories. It has helped cause I went up two pounds and then have managed to kick those two pounds back off and 2 extra so I'm super happy. I still need to remind myself not to get caught up in the carb trap. Good luck everyone!

@@mduffield Thanks for your input in that. I was not sure what to honestly do with my diet since most meat it making me sick and I have these days where I try to take the shakes in and within two hours I feel hunger again. So I tend to have some starches to I don't graze or binge on bad food choices later, I'm hoping to have a stall break soon though. Good luck to everyone on the thread it is hard but I think we are all doing really well!

I'm not sugar coating this by saying that ever single stall I have has this month of May has made me turn to my old eating habits. I eat when I get stressed and give up when I don't see progress. I need some serious help here. Need to find a way to cope with this stupidity. All I really want is to see that a little weight loss to set my mind at ease and I can get back on track. I threw the scale into the garage and will not even get on that stupid thing til the 12th when I get weighed at my docs office. I hope I can just forget about it for awhile and try not to freak out. I was wondering who is eat rice and bread and potatoes or pasta? I have not eaten rice or really potatoes but have has about 4 oz of pasta here and there and had once slice of whole grain bread the other day. Just want to see other peoples thoughts on the starches.

I'm a naughty girl feel off the wagon and started eating really bad this weekend. So I decided to do a pouch test. I know I need it and I need to just restart. I have been so stressed and it is hard or me to not fall back into old habits and eat when I am stressed. My group for my eating issues has moved to another day when I just can't go and I feel kinda lost without it. I haven't been to the gym very much either cause for some weird reason my heel is killing me. So once that stops hurting I'm actually ready to go back to that.

Hello!
You definitely are earning it. This surgery is a life change not just a smaller stomach, It gives you the tools to learn portion control and what food are weight loss successful and harmful. Look at it as a body reboot. When you are cleared for working out I definitely recommend getting into it and see your progress go even further, It is NOT the easy way out and you have to make the changes and adjustments to your life no one else. Enjoy it and don't worry about the stalls and slow weight loss points. It is a learning journey and you will be successful if you stick to the program and really work it. If you are having some eating issues I recommend group support it has helped me so much. I never really thought I was addicted to food until I went and had my surgery too. I definitely am! Good luck and know that we are all going through it together. Congrats on the currently weight loss!

Five Months to the day= -100lbs!

I actually like going to the gym although I wish I could learn how to use the weights a lil bit more. I have a trainer but he doesn't use hardly any weights. I do an hour on the treadmill and burn about 600 calories there and then do the bike for about 30 min only burning 100-150. I feel off the food wagon and reverted to old eating habits but I think it is cause the weight loss has been so slow that I just get emotional about it and you know what happens when I get emotional. I eat and get even more mad and just keep on eating. I hope that I can get back on the wagon and make better choices over the next couple of weeks. I would really like to lose 5lbs in the next two weeks before june and then I would be really happy. Fingers crossed and I hope everyone has a really awesome weekend!

Any one else have a "cheat day" on Mother's Day?
I had four nacho chips with cheese and bits of steak on it. Then had a small sliver of cake they bought me. I didn't feel guilty at all! I never said I wasn't going to eat these foods again just said in moderation. I didn't eat the whole cake! lol Yay there is the difference!

POST OP HELL-HELP
I think Sharon1964 had a great point. I was not allowed protein or it wasn't a true concern to my surgeon for TWO weeks, I was on a clear liquids only diet. You should discuss this with them in depth. I had crystal light. water, decaf diet tea, and broths of all kinds. I wasn't hungry, didn't feel hungry and was able to keep it all down.

POST OP HELL-HELP
The most important thing after VSG is staying hydrated. I agree that your anti nausea pills are not strong enough. If you can not take pills and liquids are working then maybe just try a patch or a suppository. If you can't keep liquids down, yes I recommend you go to the doctors office or even the ER to get some fluids. Sorry for your problems but I think some of us if not most of us experience these moments. Hang in there and this will pass. Good luck!

STILL NOT LOSING WEIGHT!
I notice you are starting off at a lil bit of a lower BMI it is completely normal from what I hear to have slower weight loss. The good thing is you will definitely NOT gain anything back and should be very successful over time. Your body does need time to adjust and you will surely see some loss over time. Keep your head up and good luck I'm sure you will be fine!

So set myself a personal goal and need to really stick to it. I fell of the wagon cause I could not eat protein in the meat sense and was not even sure what to do. Yea I looked into other high protein food and what not but just didn't like all my options. So I went to my nutritionist and she gave me a list of things I can try because the actually weight loss as majorly stalled and I was feeling bummed cause I knew and now it is from me add so many more carbs. I have a weigh loss goal to lose 10 lbs this month. If I don't make that I won't die but I think I will be highly disappointed. so here I go and let you beautiful people know how it is going in a week when I weigh in again!

So I decided last night hey I'm going to try eating some KFC with my family last night. Why not what the heck. I got some grilled chicken cause the fried skin is SO good I can not stop myself. I didn't have any sides and though I only had a drumstick I did ok. HA....work up with morning and was 3lbs heavier. Must be a sodium overload I can hardly bent my fingers they feel so full and heavy. Geez something are just cruddy. I hope every hard a great weekend and that the upcoming week is great for them as well!
