  1. Yea cause I work out 6 days a week my nut said I can introduce certain carbs like certain veggies and fruits. I added quinoa and some Asian rice and I notice that it leaves the restriction in me but I only do that once a day at dinner so I feel like I'm hungry all the other times. I forced myself to stop the grazing cause its adding unnecessary calories but its hard I'm not going to lie. Guess those old habits are just bringing its ugly head around again!
  2. SO let me ask a question...are any of you experiencing uncontrollable hunger? I am. Its been the past two days I'm just sooo hungry and nothing is really filling me up and I don't want to continue on like this. I want to blame the TOM but who knows. If any of you have had this what have you done to get over it?
  3. You do both. The more muscle you have the more calories you burns. Cardio is great for fat loss but you just simply need both for great results 20-30 minutes if cardio with 15-30 mins of strength training is enough for you to see and maintain decent results. I too have a training who says both is equally important
  4. Take a biotin vitamin and YAY congrats on that goal!
  5. My highest weight ever before my 6 month supervised diet was 346. My pre op diet I was 314 day of surgery 297. today I'm 227. There is hope out there for everyone, its a struggle but as long as we keep reminding ourselves of how great we feel and how far we've come we will all be successful in our weight loss!
  6. Well I was going to say low in Iron but apparently your blood work came back just fine. I had anemia before I had surgery and mine is worst since then. I have bruises everywhere and they can take a month to heal. I wish I had more advice but certainly do not. Good luck!
  7. YES....Only thing that I can still taste and is decent is salt. Anything with sugar gross, any veggies that arent steamed and have salt gross, water gross.....I could go on and on but you get the point, they yet don't know why this happens but it just does. Hang in there!
  8. I'll just tell you that I had my surgery in mexico and I do not regret it at all. I went to Mexicali and my surgeons info is also posted on here as well. If you need any advice there is a whole forum on here about surgeries in Mexico and would be happy to tell you about my experience. Good luck
  9. well not that I'm ANYWHERE near goal but the lower your bmi and weight the harder it is for your body to consistently lose. When you intensify your workouts you don't want to get so low in calories it is unhealthy. That will tell your body to hold onto some of the weight til your glycogen is back up to proper levels. Great job so far,
  10. @@Soon2beslimSamantha it does feel like night and day and I'm happy so far just wish that I could kick some of the bad eating habits. I do fairly well for most parts. Like I was really addicted to sugar and since it doesn't taste as good its not much of a problem for me anymore but I still love salty things and most things with salt have carbs. I was not planning on giving up everything to achieve a new life. I wanted to know what it was like to eat in moderation and workout and learn to be healthy and happy all at once.
  11. Sugar does not taste as good as it use to. That was my downfall along with chips. It taste like chemicals. Somethings are ok, but I notice that I tend to get a stomach ache after I eat it and just say well if I have to deal with this and it doesn't even taste that good why bother. Now if I could just kick chips lol!
  12. @@Soon2beslimSamantha 85lbs and counting. I only weigh once a month now so who knows
  13. Being so "young" but a mom to a lil boy at a my age was the start. My body hurt, I had no energy and just felt terrible. So first trigger for me was the cruddy feeling I had every day; then I went to my brothers wedding and someone took a pic of me and I saw what I looked like that was REALLY it for me. You look in the mirror and kinda just don't see it but when you look at a pic you are like holy cow its really bad, I was going to go for bypass but heard that sleeve was safer and just all around medically better for me. I don't regret anything. I'm off my diabetic meds. have tons more energy and would of never seen these results without my sleeve.
  14. Id say they almost lean towards yes in a sense. Takes awhile to get full from them and they are high in calories. Id say for a here or there snack sure but I'd measure out an amount and when you are done that's that.
  15. @@KSTUZ Ugh how did you lose so much weight so fast? This is what I'm dying over. I just want to lose that 100lbs and I can't seem to keep up the steady weight loss. Must be cause i still eat everything, dilemma, dilemma. I'm glad so many are doing so well and I seem to look better to myself if I don't take a pic. When I take the pics I feel fatter! So I'll take my next pic at 9 months instead!
  16. Good time to get to some meeting when those words pop up. I have to and it stinks but hang in there most of us go through this here and there!
  17. Only guilt I have ever felt was not having it sooner and gaining control over my life much much sooner. Wish I could of done it alone but I'm not feeling guilt for finding a tool to help me in my journey to a long and healthier lifestyle.
  18. I'm an admitting food addict but in that addiction my was the sugar. So I went and still go to therapy. I learned how to cope with it and how to avert my attention to something else when I really want it and to try to understand why I have such a need for it, Its tough and since I have kids in my house and other family members I can't be selfish and say they are not allowed the occasion treat here and there. My addiction to things is not their fault so I locked it up in a pantry and don't have access to it. Its a fight that I hope I can win and while I love my sleeve and I'm so grateful I've done so well with it I have to remind myself that everyday I need to keep working at it and when I feel like I'm about to slip I need to get back to my therapy and figure out why I want to. Good luck to you and your struggle I definitely know what it is like to kick the habit.
  19. anything that is of basic no nutritional value and does not fill you up. Popcorn, corn puffs, cheetos, anything really moist. That's why it is important to do Protein first above everything. You are suppose to feel that constriction in your stomach
  20. Ever try GNC vitamins they are like Starburst and taste decent. I was taking chewable vitamins and hated the chalky after taste and gummies hurt my teeth. Just a thought, good luck!
  21. I totally agree with washing clothes in vinegar. If you have a HE washer you put the vinegar in the cup you'd put the bleach in, My one pants use to get that way and that seem to solve the problem
  22. Colorado. Actually moving to this state is what made me decide to finally get the weight off. Everyone here is so outdoorsy and even though that has not changed with me and I still don't like the hiking and biking I just don't like the looks of disgust i get when I'm heavy.
  23. Yea maybe I will see if I can increase my calories!
  24. SO yesterday I was sitting on the couch and just turned to my husband and said I just want to quit and give up. I don't want to go to the gym, I don't want to watch what I'm eating, and I could care less if I lost another pound but since I'm not who cares anyways. I don't know why I felt like that. I was just tired of all the calorie counting and work outs and endless obsessing over it because changing your addiction of food is not something you can just say ok I'm done with over eating. Its like any addiction you have to constantly keep it in check. I could slip at any moment and gain weight with grazing and eating sliders and what not. MY husband is so kind and really is a gentle man, gets up off the couch and stands in front of me and slapped me, I was like WTH was that for. He said I just wanted to slapped some sense back into place. It worked, I was like what was I thinking? So I got over my cry baby moment and now understand why I did all this. So I could live and be a mom to my kids and wife to my husband and a happy person for myself! I do think it is ok to have these moments though and unlike some of you I have so much more to lose but I'll get to my goal weight and feel like I really accomplished something great!
  25. Oh my goodness you think me being in orthopedics I would have remembered to properly stretch my feet before a heavy work out and avoid getting this. I got right into the work outs and had the problem from the get go. For the past two months those I get a water bottle fill it half way and freeze it and after my morning work out I roll my foot and heel over the frozen bottle to help ease the pain and get on with my day. SUPER important to stretch before a long work out and don't be barefoot until the pain subsides. A lot of people tend not to wear shoes at home I wear my all day except to shower and sleep basically. Good luck to anymore who is suffering from this. Never had it before surgery. Then again I wasn't working out or on my feet too much!
