  1. Good luck to all you guys who are having surgery this week. I'm super excited for you and wish you the best of luck with recovery!
  2. We'll make it a point to make a Post Op January Sleevers thread so we can cheer each other on. I can't wait to here how everything went for everyon. Makes me super excited when you guys succeed!
  3. Wow I leave in 5 days and surgery is in 6. I'm def not hungry anymore and I'm grateful cause it will make the last week of this pre op diet that much more easier. I'm so happy that we are all having our surgery this month, I will be going to the post op forum once my surgery is done and hope that you guys are there and keep us all updated on your progress. I will admit that I'm seriously tired of the protein shakes and will be glad when I do not have to drink them anymore. Its getting old quick and I just want to eat something that is not sweet and maybe something that is more bland to be honest.
  4. I def will I have yet to take my before pic...barf but I'm going to do it the day before I leave and then I will post one every month for a year! I can't wait!
  5. I'm leaving in exactly a week wow it is getting REAL!
  6. I'm glad to see so many people are going to Mexico and are confident with their choices. I'm just sad hardly anyone is going to Mexicali I guess Tijuana was safer but the woman who inspired me to finally get this done went to Mexicali and I just felt that I wanted to go there too. 9 days to go! So close now!
  7. I"m super jealous of all the pre op diets that have a solid food dinner. I have three to four protein shakes a day and I do broths in-between. I don't intake any caffeine just decaf hot teas and anything else that is sugar free to drink. If I get tired of the protein "shakes" I drink a lil bit of a protein drink that taste a lil sweet to change it up! 13lbs down. I don't look or feel different but I guess I was expecting so much more.
  8. Happy New Years to all you January Sleevers....This is OUR month and I'm so excited we get to start our new year out with our feet finally walking in the right direction. I was doing so good on the water and somehow feel off the wagon I think it is because the water had been tasting funny to me but otherwise I guess I'm surviving as best as I can and luck is also on my side because my time of the month is normally when the surgery was suppose to be but I got it today...THANK goodness that would of just been something I would not have wanted to deal with only a week and 4 days left for me and I'm super ready! Have an awesome day ppl!
  9. Welcome to being a january sleever! yay so excited for you! Good luck and I'm sure you'll go great!
  10. @@Jlkhollins Welcome to being a January Sleever and try to be scared. It is scary of course but focusing on that just is going to stress you out and who needs that right. Glad you have the mind set to start your eating early cause it is just not an easy one but of course things get easier as time goes on and I'm sending you the best of luck on your new journey from band to sleeve!
  11. Well today wasn't so bad but I did manage to keep busy and I have my husband sharing the cooking duties with me. I think I just need to do as much possible to keep mental occupied not just physically. I just can't wait to go and have the surgery so i'm not HUNGRY! and feel full. The problem is that my stomach is still in the larger range of food intake and can tell that I haven't eaten much. So it will be a huge relief to know that if I eat and it is not a large amount it will be enough for me to feel full and satisfied for a longer period of time.
  12. I'm so excited for you and can't "weight" pun intended to get into that range! WELL done and I hope you have an awesome new year!
  13. You are correct you need a passport card or book to travel across the border. I had a relative who did not have either and could not pass over the border with their birth certificate in hand only !
  14. I just got back from the grocery store UGH talk about hard to to. Only my second day on the liquid only diet and it was killer. I had to buy the food and my kids both had chicken nuggets while I was shopping, I had to get my husband to push the cart so I wouldn't have to see the food in the cart and smell my kids food, It was brutal. I'm actually starving it is not just head hungry but I'm hoping that in a day or two the headaches will subside and my stomach will shrink and the hungry will be less noticeable! 2 weeks til surgery yay!
  15. thanks for the info always looking for a deal when it comes to the shakes!
  16. Yea you can actually go to your local passport office and request and expedited passport card or book and it can get back to you within a week. I did not even request that and received mine within a week. You can not cross back in to the united states with a birth certificate. It is not possible because I have a family member who tried and was just not possible. Good luck!
  17. Thanks. I didn't want to say anything until I had all my answers to my questions and with the holidays I just tried not to even really think about it.
  18. Ok so I'm not changing my surgery date I"m having my hernia fixed along with my sleeve. phew I was kinda freaking out a bit but everything is all good. I officially start my all liquid diet today which is not a big deal since I was down to one meal a day anyways. I know I probably will get a headache but oh well only suppose to last a couple of days and I have dealt with a headache longer then that! I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays and is ready to start their new year off right!. Everyone stay strong and if anyone wants to really keep interested my Facebook info is in my profile since I check that way more then this at times! Almost January people!
  19. mmm so this morning I was doing nothing and got an itch in my belly button and noticed a small lump in my belly button a painful one. I think I might have a umbilical hernia...this will really suck if I have one cause I can not have surgery with it. I will have to push mine off for awhile. Guess I'll know before my date is set.
  20. For those of us on Pre op don't sweat that you can't be gluttonous on Christmas and for everyone else in general THIS is the year we can actually keep our new years resolution of losing some weight! Happy holidays!
  21. 2 wks and 5 days left I'm ready soooo ready that I don't want to do anything else but that!
  22. 5'5 and almost 240lbs I know someone asked that question and I have heard the easy way out thing so many times I no longer consider those people my friends or peoples who opinion I consider! Good luck
  23. I lived in Jersey for 10 yrs and even though on your form for medical leave you need to disclose your info to HR you do not have to go into detail to your direct boss on why you are leaving. You can tell HR to keep that info private. Its their job to provide you with that type of service but it is illegal to lie about why you are taking the medical leave. If you have an after surgery injury while on the job it is something about their liability... I can't quite remember but you can tell HR and not your boss or co workers for that matter..
  24. So today is my first day on my official preop diet it is going just fine although I thought I was tired before oh man I'm really tired now. I feel like someone put a sleeping pill in everything I drink. I think it is kinda due to lack of carbs but I will get through it and just deal. I hope you ladies are having an easier time then me about it. 3 wks and one day til surgery ugh hurry up December!
  25. Well welcome to the journey and I see you are a January sleever and if you are interested we have a pre op January sleever thread were we are all there to support each other and do our journey together. I wish you the best of luck and glad you are making this step for yourself!
