  1. Well I can't eat half the things on my NUT list. I have given up meat but not really voluntarily which is horrible cause it is WAY easier to find high Protein foods from lean meats then it is from fruits and veggies. What can you do? If your sleeve doesn't accept it then dang you do what you can right. I too have noticed that everyone is starting out with semi lower BMI's and is hard to see if people can relate to how you feel compared to others. I start a lil bit under 300 and still felt like I was on the really high end of BMI's. I hope you ladies find the support you need. Some days I say I regret it cause I just want to sit and eat a meal, then I look at how far I've come in such a lil bit of time and think this is pretty good why would I EVER want to go back! Stay strong!
  2. Um....frustrated? I see a 46lbs loss. Would you have had that success without the surgery or pre op diet? I think you are doing great. Plz be patient and remember you did not put that weight on in a couple of weeks or months and it will take some time to take it off. Try to learn from the whole experience and just be happy you aren't gaining right. You will learn how to eat right and the right amount. I call it the body reboot. You are learning the proper portion amounts and how to live skinny. Enjoy your journey and I'm sure you will be fine but if interested you might want to go to the veteran post op forum and see if you can find someone there who started out at that weight and is at goal! Good luck sending you good vibes!

    NEED HELP!

did you talk to you Nut? Sometime you really have to tweak your diet or maybe you need some intense work outs. Doing the same thing every day is just not productive try to do some HIIT work outs twice a week. Really get back to basics on your diet. High Protein low carbs. Water, water, water. Good luck stalls suck!

I hit the 199 mark this week. Unfortunately that darn scale has me bouncing back and forth between 200 and 199 ever since. It is going to feel great when you get there! And for me, I will feel great when I have a few pounds under so I never see that 200 number again. Good luck!

Terrified I can eat to much

My nut suggested that I go and get a rotisserie chicken and sit at the table and slowly eat that chewing every single bite 30 times and I will realize that my stomach is still intact. It is not my stomach that is the problem but the food I'm choosing to eat that is not allowing me to feel full. Also that I need to keep going to my therapy to make sure I realize that I'm eating for emotional support and not cause I'm hunger. I recommend joining a group getting some support from ppl in your area who you can physically talk to. Remember it is just a smaller stomach and did not change the way you deal with food. Good luck and I hope you figure it out.
  7. Will I ever love working out?

You definately have to find something you enjoy and the right way to enjoy it.ni have never liked to exercise and I have a lot of pain so it takes a lot for me to stay motivated. For me that motivation is loud music and the way I feel after I work out. I recently had spine surgery and am completely restricted and hating the fact that I cannot get my cardio in every day now. It makes me feel like a lazy lump. I try to walk everyday but I am just hurting too bad to go too far. Like the others said, find what you are passionate about, you may never enjoy it until you do.

Thanks I never liked doing anything like biking or hiking and any physical activity at all. That's probably what contributed to the weight gain. Don't get me wrong. I work out every day but Sunday and do it cause I want and need the healthy lifestyle just don't love it. Thank you everyone for the input!

    A little TMI

Very typical for you to have constipation issues when you are only three weeks out considering your fiber intake is probably very low. Trying taking a daily fiber pill or Miralax which is flavorless and you can add to drinks or benifiber. Just be careful if you have not gone for more then three days cause you don't want to get impacted and have a whole other issue on your hands! Good luck.

    January Sleevers ❄️

You started surgery with low BMI you will not lose as fast as someone like me who is heavier and a HARD workout is just not something that the body is use to. I say if you are losing even if it is slow its still good. With your diet and work out routine and lil stomach you are not going to gain which is something I would say is awesome. I'm sure it is frustrating though and do hope you work it out. I just have to remember that I need to have a caloric deficit of 500 then what my RMR is and I will lose. So I strive for that every single day and and it seems to be helping. Good luck to you

Losing pounds but do not feel a difference

We all feel this way I think. I don't see a difference from month to month and I take a pic every single month to see the progress. Others say they see it but I don't. Give it time. I think we expect to see super model thin too soon and we need to not only lose weight but tone it up and feel better as well. So now I work out 6 days a week and yesterday was the first time I think I saw some improvements. Give it time. Its not going to be instant Good luck with your journey and don't worry so much about physical changes at the moment. Worry about getting back on the track to healthy and feeling good.

    Need to lose 50 pounds

It seems to be the norm that the higher the BMI the faster the weight loss. With a lower BMI it seems to be slower. It also depends on how well you stick to your surgeons and Nut plan on what you should and should not eat. There is not set period of time in which you will lose. Good luck and I hope that you learn from your journey and really embrace the new lifestyle.
  15. I know I can do this!

      ShrinkingPeach

      Yes you can do this!!

  16. Two days of liquid only with shakes and broths or Soups. two days of basic pure but solid Protein and then the last day you can add some low carb veggies. It is very basic and simple but a great help.
  17. the 5 day pouch test is a semi basic reset on your food intake. Most or I should say a lot of people use to to get a grasp on what portion sizes our sleeves are suppose to really handle. It also tends to be a great help when you have a weight stall and have fallen into the wrong eating habits. It help reestablish the proper diet and size of food we are suppose to be intaking. I just did one and it helped me break a one month stall!
  18. I feel like I need a motivation boost!

      Swampdoggie

Did you try the pouch test? If so, how did that go? I hosted a brunch yesterday for a friend who was back in town and even though I tried to behave I devolved into a carb monster. I gotta get it together this week!! Hope you can find a motivator for you too!

Ugh so hard to go back on a liquid only diet for those days. I made it to those two days then I stopped cause I can't really eat most protein so I'm going to my nut at the end of the month to see what I can do. I boosted my cardio to offset everything else

Tru dat. I'm having a loud and rowdy attack of the naughtys. I need to get it together. I've been here before and I DO NOT want to undo my work. Blast me. Lets get us going @VeronicaPage. I like your new photo.

    Worried

I got the flu two months post op. It was just that the flu. I was not able to get better or worst in any different way.

Not losing enough on pre-op diet

Yea I see how you are worried and believe me I'm a SLOW loser. I went two years without bread, soda, or sugar in my diet. I lost the total of 10 lbs. Pathetic. I had my pre op only lost 10 lbs. Now I'm 4 almost 5 months out and I've lost 70 lbs. Don't stress. This is a body reboot basically. You will learn how to eat correctly in portion size and in a cleaner way. I'm sure you did not just magically put this weight on in a matter of months. It took time and you will need time to lose it as well. Be positive. I was so down about me probably not losing weight, but I feel fine with the progress I'm making even though when I stall I whine and moan. Be strong and we are here for you!
  21. You know that losing weight from your belly is the last to go. It is ridiculous to think we lose weight from fingers, toes, earlobes, legs,arms...ect before our stubborn stomach fat goes anywhere. Just stay strong and true to your weight loss and work out routine and you will eventually see the difference. The same goes with me. I don't see it but since my first pair of goal jeans button I know that there is weight loss in that area and eventually you and everyone else will see it! Good luck and your weight loss so far is amazing!
  22. I have a high impact and yes stressful job, I was cleared medically to go back after two weeks. One ask your surgeon and two base it on how you feel. I got cabin fever sitting at home! Good luck!
  23. Veronica Page

this might be a bit awkward but....

Yea I recommend taking miralax or a lil bit of fiber every day I had to go to the hospital due to impaction. It was embarrassing and painful to say the least. Lesson learned!

    Four months transformation

wow close to 60 lbs for couple of weeks? That's awesome. Its funny how we all lose so differently. I just barely lost 70 lbs since January 15th. Good for you, I hope that I can see such a dramatic difference in myself one day!

Not losing enough on pre-op diet

Is your doctor or insurance requiring you to lose a certain amount of weight or is it more to make sure that you have no weight gain for liver enlargement issues? Mine was so my liver did not get larger and not for the weight loss. I only lost 10 lbs on my MONTH long pre-op. Just double check with your surgeon and Nut. If you are truly doing everything you can then don't beat yourself up. We all don't lose the same.
