  1. I am just about 7 months post-op and feel so much better than I did, and continue to feel better each day! I had my surgery on March 31, 2015. My starting weight was 266 (BMI = 44.3) My current weight is 192 (BMI = 31.9) Current weight lost = 74 pounds and 12.4 points on my BMI. I still have about 30 - 35 pounds to go until my goal weight, but I am taking it day by day. If I could magically go back in time and revisit my decision, I would have decided long ago to have this surgery. I started my journey in October of 2014 and it took about 5 months before my surgery was scheduled. I went in with a mind-set that this was the best decision for me and my family. I have struggled with my weight since high school and had my first child at 18. I went from a fabulous 150 pounds to a waddling 211. I fought many diet plans and lost and continued to gain. I had my second child in December of 2013 and hit my highest weight of 266. This time it seemed as though the weight didn't want to budge. I couldn't get any of it to just go away. This was biggest I had ever been and I was very depressed about it. I wore a size 24 pants and the thought that I used to be size 10 just killed me. Not only have I lost 74 pounds but I am in a size 12. It has been 14 years since I could say that and it feels amazing to be able to go to the department store and not have to shop in the plus size section. To be able to wear those cute outfits that the "skinny" girls can wear. Then I think "Oh wait, I am one of those skinny girls!" Only you can be your enemy. I knew from the first day I talked to my doctor that this is what I wanted and nothing anyone said about the risks and downsides outweigh the benefits and how I feel today. I'm not going to sugar coat that it hasn't been a rough ride, however each day gets better and the more focused you remain the better you will feel. We are all here anytime! I wish you luck in your journey!

    Are these working for you?
  3. I like this math. Doesn't make me feel bad either. My goal weight to lose is 115lbs. I lost 17 pounds in 16 days. I hit my first goal. YAY!!!

    Clothing size

I'm 16 days out of surgery down 17 pounds. Feeling a little discouraged though. After reading some posts and others that have lost 30 pounds 2 weeks out. I know everyone is different, but I wish I was doing better. Surgery Size was tight 22/3XL now comfortable in 20/2XL. I guess a little is better than none. Struggling with feeling tired still and no energy.

    HAD SURGERY 3/31/15

Thanks Loss78! It has definitely gotten better. I have been getting in my Protein as well as my fluids. I do wonder if there is a limit on how much I can take because sometimes it feels like I can just keep going. I guess I haven't pushed myself to that limit yet. I don't really feel hungry but it is a constant struggle with head hunger.

    HAD SURGERY 3/31/15

Just want to say congratulations to all the losers here. It feels good to be on the other side now. My surgery www also on 03/31. I came home the next day but ended up back in the e.r on Thursday evening severely dehydrated. My bp was 84/48 and I just kept passing out. I spent 7 hours there getting fluids back. Yesterday and today have been great. No pain medicine needed only a Tylenol. I'm having a hard time with the protein and head hunger. Even the thought of the protein makes me sick. I'm fixing some unjury chicken broth to try right now and hopefully that will work. If anybody wants to chat I'm here. I have to say it's good to know that even though we are strangers to each other we can be the support team we all need. Good luck to everyone and happy losing!! :-) :-)

    Surgery was a success!

Same here. Surgery yesterday afternoon. Feeling bloated and gassy. Only a little pain her and there. Just got home 2 hours ago. Fighting off the head hunger.
  8. March 31st here! So excited and nervous at the same time. Very stressed out though! Been house hunting for a few weeks and feel like I am gaining weight when I'm supposed to be losing. Not eating more but not choosing wisely. I have to get back into the swing of things! Having trouble staying focused.

    Recovery Time

This has been something that I struggled with when I made the decision to have the surgery. I have a desk job as well and live only about 12 minutes from the office. I am fully determined to return to work after 1 week. I just got the call today and my surgery is scheduled for March 31st. I am so excited!!! Yay! Glad to hear everyone is doing well and big hopes for a speedy recovery.
