  1. @@maggie409 -My surgeon told me at my first follow-up on June 3rd to eat only two meals and if I got hungry (after I determined it wasn't thirst) to eat fruit. He said I could have all the fruit I wanted... I thought to myself, huh? I quickly asked can I have veggies instead of fruit. as much as I want? His reply was - yes! I love fruit but I already new about the high sugar value.
  2. @@CanyonBaby - you and your hubby definitely are in my prayers - put your faith in God.
  3. @@tssiemer - you can prove your weight loss efforts because WW has attendance records and if you have a gym membership and can prove you took either some classes (spinning, zumba, water aerobics) you can probably use that as well, I did something very similar.
  4. @@PsychoWriter - Welcome little brother & fellow Floridian! I think Inner Surfer Girl was right about tracking food, getting back in touch with your nut meeting Water and Protein guide lines. Touch bases with you Nut and "re-boot"
  5. @@NYCVSGGirl87 I totally agree with @@Inner Surfer Girl - get back to BASICS!
  6. @@hopefullythininme - I work with about 2500 co-workers and of the couple of hundred or so that see me daily started stopping and asking if I am okay. I gave in about a month ago and share my WLS story. Most were concerned that I was sick. Its nice to be complimented I have told everyone that I will NOT share the current weight though (a girl has to have some privacy). Most of the co-workers are guys and I don't get asked for numbers, thank goodness. The girls wants numbers....I don't share. I am evil ;D
  7. @@Gaelsmom - IMO soup is a "slider" and you can probably "drink" two cups of Water as well as eat two cups of soup. Watch the calories, carbs and sodium. I would say the swelling ankles are due to the salt. Water, water, water, walk, walk, walk......
  8. @@ITGeekGirl - I work a pretty physical job and its about 50/50 between that and computer time. I went back to work 12 days after being sleeved. I couldve gone back the Monday after (it was a Wednesday for surgery). I just had to be careful about NOT picking up the really heavy stuff post because I am required to list 40lbs unassisted. I felt great and really feel better now
  9. @@atcant - I totally agree with your post. I am not a nurse but I do think it is pretty obvious HERE who has had thorough prep for this life changing procedure. I see posts asking so questions that I thought was pretty darn obvious and I answer sometimes and the whole time I am thinking (REALLY????) BARIATRIC NURSES ROCK! Kudos to my team at St. Vincents - Southside in Jacksonville Florida!!!
  10. @@kaysunshine - I think a lot of us feel that way. you will be fine and the results a few months later will be SOOOO worth it! Godspeed -
  11. I reached the lost 58/ 58 more to go stage a couple of days ago and even though I get stopped multiple times at work about my weight I still find it hard to not say I have ONLY lost 58. Its actually 74 from my highest but it is hard to not feel like it should be gone in a *snap*, even though I know like @@MrsKarenC2008 said the weight gain didn't happen in a *snap*. that's why I really appreciate my NSVs - those make it REAL!
  12. @@portuguesegal10 - that is pretty typical you have buyers remorse - it will get better and your new life will seem soooo normal after a couple of weeks. Oh, and the scale starts moving in the right direction too, will definitely make you feel much better. hang in there kiddo!!!
  13. I was an occasional caffeine free diet coke girl. it tasted different than regular diet coke. I haven't had a carbonated drink since March - life marched on. I was told I am allowed coffee. I cannot give it up. I tried the de-caffeinated but I have gone back to reg coffee. I feel like if THAT ifs my ONLY downfall, I am not doing too bad. I have had an occasional tiny glass of wine recently. I won't drink more than a couple of sips, but it was nice to have a small glass I GAVE UP POPCORN so FAR so.......and that's my KRYPTONITE! I am having a better day today....
  14. @ - you are on the way now...before you know it you will be under 200!
  15. great suggestions. I have one to add....chew your food thoroughly.
  16. not a bad idea to measure it out. you don't want to over eat! I have taken one too many bites and felt uncomfortable. I have never thrown up but it sure was uncomfortable. better a lol less than one too many!
  17. I would try to not eat or drink too much and weigh in the same clothes when you get home to see the difference. that way you will have a idea where you are for the next appt. I weigh daily, first thing in the morning.
  18. @@Elode - I have always had THICK legs and "cankles". I could, years ago zip up boots but I could never find an anklet that could fit!
  19. @@confusedgirl18 - try on some older clothes its what keeps me motivated - today I hit the 50/50 mark.
  20. @@MarciaN @@GoogleGal8 @@jeanniereenie @@Jovie62 @@kaysunshine @@Babbs @@Inner Surfer Girl - thanks for lending your electronic ears. I definitely have a great e-family here! If I knew how to PM I would Babbs - I am just heartbroken right now - Water, is the last thing on my mind...
  21. its unfortunately not his first run in with the law and I feel he will do time. How much is what bothers me. I am 52. If he gets life...I think I will die inside. If he gets 30 years I might live to see him come out and he will be 54. I can't imagine what he would do at that point to support himself. He would be as emotionally and financially distraught as he has been the last 2-3 years trying to get a job. As a felon, no one wants to hire you. And he sits...and thus gets into more trouble (drugs) because all the "buds" are also at home - doing nothing because they don't have a job. Its a vicious cycle that breeds trouble. I have complained with the probation office that I thought not only were they suppose to monitor his behavior but I thought they were supposed to help guide them back into society. His last PO flat told me the day he got out - "hes not going to make it". She had him back in jail within a couple of months for being home late from a job by 15 minutes and trying to sell an extra motorcycle helmet at the pawn shop to pay for a required probation class. I begged her to put an ankle monitor on him when it became apparent she thought he was not at home when he was supposed to be or coming straight home. She said "if you cannot afford a probation class, how can you afford a monitor?" sorry still venting. Thanks everyone for replying and sharing - I just want my son to lead a productive life. Get straight, get a job, home, maybe even one day have a family...and YES its all his fault (drugs) but I cannot sit at home and monitor him. I have 1 other child and 3 step-children he is the youngest of the five and I am beside myself trying to figure out what I did differently....
  22. @@Bufflehead - Thank you
  23. its been a rough weekend (a lot of personal drama at home) but this morning I hit my tickers halfway point of -58lbs. With 58 still to go to get to my "dream" weight, I know its achievable, but at this moment ~ I don't care. Sorry I need to vent here because I cant at home or out aloud. I walked into work an hour ago crying... not feeling it right now. Adult son has some serious legal issues right now and is probably going "away" for a while. This is my youngest child who lives at home with me and his step-dad - I feel alone.
  24. @@stephh - Thanks again!!!! WE ALL appreciate you doing this challenge and we can wait for the updated spreadsheet. Keeps me on accountable - 208 this morning!
  25. I didn't like either....I went the creamed soup path post and skipped them for clear.
