Egg drop soup

I'm two weeks post-op. I had egg drop Soup for the first time. All other Soups I can drink 3/4 cup to a cup. But last night, I actually put away two cups of egg drop soup with no pain. This morning, my ankles are swollen, my hands are stiff and I feel off.

Is it normal to put away so much soup and is the sodium most likely causing this morning's aches and swelling?
