  1. you do look absolutely stunning! great job!
  2. @@Andrea72 - you must be somewhere near Pensacola. I have family north of Pensacola and in Atmore Al, both of which are Escambia County....go figure. Bratt, Nokomis, Walnut Hill, McDavid.... Is there a hospital in Podunkville? That is where I would call.
  3. @@kmorri - I spoke to the nurse at Dr. Uchals office about the extra Iron a few weeks post. It causes bathroom issues for me. I was told to just stick with the iron I am getting in my multi-Vitamin and not take the extra iron. This was all post-op and confirmed by my first round of BW. I just went today for BW for my 1 year post-op. Hoping it turns out as good as the last two rounds post-op.
  4. @@Elode - PLEASE let us all know, when you can, that you are with 'flat kitty, tiny waist, etc'...and all is good. praying for you kid!
  5. her1981 my doctor never gave me a goal. I asked at my second visit and he turned the tables on me and asked what I wanted to weigh - I said 165-170. he said to shoot for 150-155 and that would give me a buffer because some people tend to put on about 15-20 about 2yrs out. My ticker reflects down to a normal BMI range for my height (163)...not sure if I am going to make that. I am 53, and I don't have the elasticity in my skin like I did 20 years ago and if I got to far below about 160 I think the west coast would know how windy it is here on the east coast...
  6. @@Andrea72 - I am sure there is support meetings in the area. I live near Jacksonville and they have meetings in pretty much all of the surrounding counties - maybe check online? Check doctors who perform bariatric surgery in your area and call their offices and see if the staff can give you some ideas. Your f/u is tomorrow so ask then Your feelings are pretty normal at this point. Stay off the scale but stay on your doctors program and you will be fine. come here and check in
  7. @@crazygoose - we have your designated seat ready <patting losers bench> and the bench is realllllllyyyyy long but look for the sign and the balloons <points to sign reading "Happy Re-Birthday Crazygoose!" > We are HERE, waiting for you to tell us your plans to get home safely and who is your POC if you need something. your BP sister, Jane13
  8. like CowgirlJane I am more physically able to do things without hesitation. I crawled up on top of my desk, and stood up, to clean the top of the cabinet yesterday. Sunday I was chasing my 18 m/o grandson around at the older grandsons birthday party. It was nice to bend over, squat down, sit on the ground and play with him and NOT feel like I would need help to get up, or draw attention to myself. I have also started wearing a bit more 'girlie' type shirts and more fitted clothing. Shoes are really getting my attention, although I have not bought any, I am definitely looking. I have never had a big collection of shoes but at 53, I guess the shoe fetish has awakened!
  9. @@Andrea72 - I am in NE Florida, the weather has been great - get outside, walk, garden, enjoy your new journey you are starting. Find a support group from the hospital where you had surgery. Are you on BP meds? My BP dropped significantly after about 25 lbs, made me very tired. Staying hydrated (esp here in FL) is a must for WLS patients. keep posting - we are here.
  10. You are so correct. My doctor had me on liquids for 3 days, then on to pureed, and within 2 weeks I was allowed regular (soft) food. I had no issues, I followed his instructions. No REGRETS!
  11. @@maggie409 - I love Peanut Butter and bread. I too have given up eating bread like I use to (actually any carb). I like Cereal too!!! moderation is the key and being mindful of what exactly you are eating and how many carbs, how much sodium, Protein, etc... don't forget to update your ticker! great job, by the way, to losing almost 100 at +/-10months post-op!
  12. @@mid - Welcome! FOLLOW your DOCTORS orders first and foremost. We here, your new brothers and sisters, are a sounding board. We disagree/agree on some issues. Don't take offense if you are told to stay off the scale, embrace a 2 month stall or stop drinking your diet Pepsi. We are family and we tend to reply what we think without a buffer. Ex: your Mom/sister/BFF who always asks how much more weight have you put on. The sleeve is a tool. You work the tool (sleeve). If you don't use it (sleeve) properly, the job (weight loss) won't get done the RIGHT way.
  13. @@spdmonkeymama - welcome to the BP family. Pull up a chair and sit down. The losers bench is where you are headed Congrats!
  14. @@jmprance - did your surgeon or nutritionist provide any info for the pre-op? IMO I would contact them first because it varies from surgeon to surgeon. You didn't specify clear, just liquid. I guessed you were referring to the post-op? That was the thread title. Do you have a pre-op diet to follow as well, since your surgery is in 2 weeks? My point is that you need to know specifically what your team wants you to do pre and post surgery. Sorry, maybe I am not understanding your question. I am confused if you are asking pre or post op and clear or just liquid, and to me, those are completely different scenarios.
  15. @@Kindle @@Inner Surfer Girl @@Babbs - I fourth that!!!
  16. @ - go back to the pre-op forum, and click on the thread titled frequently asked questions!
  17. @@Bufflehead - I didn't want to say anything about pepperoni slice guy, but I TOTALLY agree with you, they were not aligned and they looked too close as well. NOPE, not for me....
  18. @@Nurse_Lenora - I agree - the strawberry does not taste right to me. that's why I would like to find a single serving and maybe buy two and get real cold and try the banana cream. @@Justin Curtis - you are doing AWESOME!!!! 4months and over 100lbs!!!!
  19. Yes, but not like before, I am 11 months post. For about the first 6 months, hunger was not really 'there', it is now. I think I NOW realize the difference between thirst and hunger and I definitely know when to stop eating =]
  20. @@anitavee - got your seat saved, ready and waiting for you here <patting LOSERS bench>!!!! post as soon as you are able to, walk, walk, walk! congrats!
  21. @@4MRB4PHOTO - LMAO!
  22. @@deanna2178 - Godspeed young pre-sleever, you 'got this'.... NO regrets!!!
  23. I will have to look for this and try one. I don't care too much for the strawberry so maybe the banana cream will be a new flavor. Has anyone looked at walmart?
  24. @@Elode - you are going to have to change your BP name to Barbie - you are going to have the tiniest waist, and the "DD girls" PLUS.... a FLAT KITTY!!!! The pictures are going to be uber hot no doubt. keep us posted on how PS visit turns out!
  25. @@KindaFamiliar - in the beginning I would hiccup. Then the hiccupping has decreased and now its a very soft {{{burp}}} if I am reaching the point of "full". I rarely get there anymore because I also get a sensation (mental type of - AHA moment) that lets me know S_T_O_P! I politely spit out whatever is in my mouth and quit. I have swallowed twice past that point and don't ever want to go there again...no thanks!
