  1. I only had to try to eat "clean" and clear liquids only 24hrs pre-op. Post-op it was clear for 2 days and on the 3rd I started pureed food. The pre-op & post-op vary greatly so follow your surgeons directions.
  2. @@Porkchop911 - I agree with everyone else I think you are not getting enough calories. I would think you would be about double that now (atleast 600) but that is what I was told by my medical team at the 2 month point.
  3. @@music_lover0721 - Wow you are going to be in surgery before you know it! keep us posted and start prepping!
  4. I weigh once or twice a day and only Mondays count for me too. It can drive you nuts because your weight fluctuates so much and what you weigh this morning is not necessarily because of what you at for dinner last night. food with a lot of sodium can show up on the scale a day or so later and unfortunately hang around for a couple of days. If you are a woman, like me, I could easily put on 5-6lbs around that TOM :/ I am a scale junkie and it sucks to have that URGE to weigh.
  5. @@KindaFamiliar - NOW I know why you are.... "up"
  6. @@DukeLacroix - Happy Re-Birthday! Let us know when you can how you are doing. walk, walk, walk jane
  7. @@Kooky1 - so sorry to hear about your Grandmother, what a great life - 103. Stay focused on your plan and you know your coping mechanism (food). Was there something you two liked to do together, non food related? Honor her memory by staying your course. If you slip, then pick yourself up and get back on track. Most of us have done that, fallen off, crawled back up in the saddle... She would want you to continue on working towards being healthier l am sure. jane
  8. MMmmmmMmm guacamole I love anything with avocadoes
  9. @@Mary2016 exciting keep us posted!
  10. @@Margie122 - I do the same thing. I purge and look for things that are marked down in the newer size and about three to four months later I purge them. That's the best NSVs as the inches go bye bye.
  11. I think that the part we have to live with (possibly not making the ultimate weight) and I made up my mind where I would be happy. I am within 10lbs of it and like you about 15 -20lbs of the ultimate goal. Is it still attainable? I think so. I am 53 and that extra ten lb loss is probably a lot more loose skin. I feel pretty darn good and wearing size 12 jeans! That was something I thought I would never do again.
  12. @@Sophie74656 - I actually love my job. I feel very blessed to feel that way. What about making the side business, an on-line shopping business?
  13. @@VSGAnn2014 - they drew blood and are suppose to have the results when I see the PCP at 12:30 today. He is basing his diagnosis on the physical exam. Based on how the BW comes back he said he may want to do a CT scan immediately. He also wants to do a colonoscopy, which I had planned on doing anyways. @@Babbs - I hadn't thought about flavorless powdered stuff, thanks! I just cant imagine trying to eat fiber, which fills me up, and getting in Protein at the same time. @@Nurse_Lenora - I have been using Miralax since about 2 months post. I mentioned the seeds & nuts because they are usually the culprits and I have been eating them for protein (almonds, peanuts, etc). @@OutsideMatchInside - If PCP says I can eat salads today when I ask I will probably get spinach I love veggies. Post WLS I have not ate as much veggies and I did pre-op and I guess between that, fiber and being old I have to re-think my diet. Thanks everyone for chiming in! Jane
  14. @@chandras1978 - welcome to your new 'blended' family of banders, sleevers, RNYers, BPD/DSers...
  15. Unfortunately I seem to have developed diverticulitis and my 1 year anniversary is Friday and I am down 105lbs from my HW. I saw my general PCP for what I thought may have been a UTI that had possibly gotten worse. I have never had one until about 5 or so years ago so I didn't know what was going on. The first thing he asked me was what is your diet like now and I elaborated on the post WLS. He said you need more Fiber in your diet at your age :/ He said I can get a lot of fiber from salads and veggies. How can I add more fiber without filling up and still get in my Protein? I am now on two types of antibiotics and I have another appointment today to see where we go from here. Of course I am on a soft food diet at the moment (ah the memories...). Now I am considering no nuts, seeds and having to add fiber to my already small plate. Any suggestions?
  16. @@hamoudi - are you still 'withdrawing' from some foods? Caffeine for example? I don't know how long or if you had to go without it and it does cause headaches. Like KF mentioned dehydration can also cause headaches and in my case I also has BP that had dropped -
  17. @@hannaciousp listen to him^ welcome to BP and the 'other side'.
  18. @@KindaFamiliar is that the reason for the pink glow coming across the Atlantic?
  19. @@Lizardlady - I did the exact same thing closed on a house about 10 days post. Its a lot to deal with so make sure you hydrate and eat right. We were also living in a RV on our property for about 10 weeks pre-op so I had incentive for moving around and eating less. Congrats on the new house and let us know when you can, that you are out of surgery.
  20. @@KindaFamiliar, you were making apologies for the nose hair and the average looks on post #92. I have nose hair and average looks, so no judging on looks from me :] So totally not needed (apologies) And again, you are awesome!
  21. @@1cutiejulie - I slid over and your seat on the losers bench is warmed, and waiting

  24. @@KindaFamiliar - morning! You don't need to apologize for anything, you are AWESOME!
  25. @@KindaFamiliar - hmmmm hope no one gets the idea to try this cream on other parts of their body. I am looking forward to your face with a Kotex on it, but someone may come to the conclusion if it works on your turkey neck that it may work on their ______ (fill in the blank). I can only imagine the pictures!
