  1. babe 58 I am not sure.. i had this problem before surgery but was able to take metamucil caplets with my a.m. and p.m. pills and Vitamins.. but I don't seem to tolerate them very well anymore and we have to take all of these vitamins and calcium.. my nutritionist seems to believe it is the calcium and the casein in the Protein drinks that I am drinking.. she told me to get this vegan Protein Drink which i did but i hate it.. so wasted money on that.. colace and smooth move work but they cause some cramping and nausea for me so I try to avoid them.. going the Fiber route.. but sometimes can't get that down either.. still struggling with this..
  2. Thanks Shadow and Chicogirl.. you are right.. in my heart I know that this is better than anything I have ever done and I think you are correct that you drop so fast in the beginning that it warps your prospective about what is possible. I just got back from my first postop visit with my nutritionist and she gave me some good suggestions .. so I am feeling good about things today... plus did lose a pound... i know I shouldn't weight every day but......
  3. Thanks for the feedback. Glad to hear I am not the only one with the heartburn problem. I may ask about increasing my dosage of Omeprazole.. I am taking a pretty low dose I think. I was avoiding both Smooth Move and colace but it is clear that that is not working for me. Will start tonight. We shall see. Thanks Elode and BLERDgirl.
  4. I am having a problem with constipation. I am at 7 weeks and have had this problem for about the last three. Can't figure out yet if it is caused by gummy Vitamins (double dose) but they don't have Iron so probably not from them. Also taking Calcium Citrate every day so that could be the cause, according to my GP. Drinking my Water so I don't think that is the problem. I am trying to take Meta Mucil every day and avoid Colace but I just can't seem to get regular. Also, heartburn is worse than ever. I take Omeprazole every morning but now have to take Zantac at night -- per the advice of my GP. Didn't expect these problems. Expected nausea.. but never have that!
  5. I am 7 weeks in and have only lost 21 pounds. Haven't lost a any weight in the last 10 days. Just started working out.. Leslee Sansone walk tapes.. 30 to 45 mins. Getting frustrated.
  6. emsgirl114.. I think that I have some of the same problems in that I have to make a point to pay attention to what I am eating.. sometimes I just eat without thinking or planning... although I have not puked at all.. except for trying a bariatric vitamin the second week. Which was a mistake. I also have been a little too free with my food choices, nibbling all through Christmas. However, the net result was that I started to lose weight again because I was grazing.. but not taking in a lot of calories. Then, I got a stomach virus on NYE that laid me out for the last three days.. just starting to eat now.. and basically pureeing my food again to avoid upsetting my stomach. My issue has always been pain in my stomach if I do something wrong.. not nausea... and it does knock the stuffing out of me when I eat too much.. again, I don't vomit, but it hurts like heck and I just want to burp but can't! I have lost a total of 21 pounds.. so behind the others here.. but feel very confident it will come off as gradually as I am hoping.. because I haven't gotten back to the gym yet.. next week!
  7. hey roundisashape... I threw up my chewable bariatric vitamins when I tried to take them the second week (I am in week four) and that is the only time I have thrown up the entire time. I can't bring myself to try again.. so I just tripled the dosage for my gummy women's vitamins (I compared the ingredients and it is basically the same thing) and they don't bother my stomach. Saw my surgeon today and he was fine with that.
  8. Thanks Musikgal21 for the response. Sorry you went through that.. sounds awful. My daughter is a singer and her voice coach says that singing opera properly is a real workout! Glad you are better now. My pain sounds like it is not as intense .. it us just a nagging sharp pain that gets worse as the day goes on. Need to wear the binder all of the time.. seems to help. It is shaping up as a real setback to 1.) getting back to work and 2.) getting back to the gym!
  9. Jacqbult. Having similar problem Seem to have stalled at 200... just can't seem to break through to the 100s! Wah! And I also developed a sharp pain on my right side. It is basically under my main incision. They have ruled out gall bladder, thank goodness. But it is discouraging as I am already more than three weeks out (Nov. 21 surgery) and need to get back to work. The pain is minor in the morning but seems to get worse as they day goes on, as if from fatigue. Very concerned that this will delay my clearance to start working out as it is in my core, which affects everything! Good luck with your pain and your stall, which will def end, of course. Still, it is frustrating!
  10. Thanks.. I guess I did overextend myself. It is so frustrating. I am lousy at relaxing. Now I am forced to take it easy or I will not be able to get back to work. Uggh!
  11. Thanks.. that is the plan. Take it slow. But it def feels like a setback cuz i want to get back to the gym asap. Thanks for response.
  12. I have a sharp pain that gets worse as the day goes on under my main incision, second to the right. GP did tests for gall bladder ..all negative. I feels like I pulled an abdominal muscle. Will see surgeon next week. His office says I could have done too much. I have done some light housekeeping.. but I don't remember doing anything overly strenuous but it is possible that I did. It just seemed to come out of nowhere. No pain when I am sleeping.. usually on a heating pad. Surgery was Nov. 21. No significant eating or water consumption problems.. just this damn tweaky, sharp pain. Wanted to return to work next week but that seems unlikely now even though I have a desk job. Sitting at my desk at home give me pain, especially later in the day. Bummer!
  13. I have a sharp pain in the area the second from the right. I doesn't hurt when I sleep.. but when I am awake and moving around it starts to hurt. So it seems to be muscular I guess. Had abdominal ultrasound and blood work done and my GP eliminated gall bladder problem. But it is a really sharp pain, especially later in the day. I am 20 days out and did not expect this. I was better the second week.
  14. Well, I do feel better today. Have been more active. Wearing the binder very tight. My GP said that my blood work and my abdominal ultrasound were fine, so apparently no gall stones. (Not surprising since I had one done 6 weeks ago and that was also fine.) I still feel a twinge occasionally but I am wondering now if it isn't something involving the abdominal muscles or the scar. Thanks for your good wishes. Jury is still out on what this is or whether it will just go away on its own. Plan to see my surgeon next week, either way.
