  1. I had sleeve surgery in April 2015 and I was doing great. I was 235 on my surgery day and I got to my lowest post surgery weight last year, 152. I am now 173 and completely stuck. My goal has always been 135 but now I just want to get back to 152. I felt and looked healthy there. I feel gross and like a complete failure now. My question is how do you continue to lose weight? Any tips to keep motivated? I don’t know anyone who has had wls surgery that I can ask or confide in. Thanks, Tiff

    Soup noodles and the like

My surgeon doesn’t have any restrictions food wise. Everyone is different and can handle foods differently. I’ve never had any issues with pastas or noodles. Hamburger is the only thing I can’t eat without getting sick unless it’s grass feed beef. I’ll be 3 years post op in April. Best thing is to listen to your body and nutritionist. Best of luck.

    Mid 30s still struggling

Happy Friday! I am so sorry you don't get much support from family or friends. I honestly don't either. I have become my own motivation. I hit plateaus a LOT. I just keep pushing forward. I will have setbacks where I will stop and maintain/gain a few pounds for a couple of weeks and then I get angry I let myself fall back. I think the main thing that works for me is thinking of all the things I want to do, clothes I want to wear, wearing a bikini to the beach (maybe...) lol just thinking of the future motivates me. Feel free to reach out to me anytime Have a wonderful weekend. Tiffany
  4. I am a little over 5 months out and I am having issues with getting to the point were I almost pass out/faint. After 3 months I started running and I love it but I don't have the energy to run now. In my personal training sessions I have had to stop twice at 30 mins in because I almost passed out. I wasn't doing anything besides walking and stretching at the point..so I don't know why. I started to eat carbs 1 hour before working out like me surgeon's office suggested but I almost passed out again. Has anyone else had this happen to them? I really want to run/train and I hate that this is another setback. If I get up too quickly sometimes I get dizzy and almost faint then too (not during workouts.) Thank you!

  6. I made the mistake of trying some crunches yesterday. Ouch! I have my exercise appointment June 1st. So I'm going to ask lots of questions! Thanks so much for your help!
  7. Awesome! Thank you
  8. I think I will start with the elliptical and wait on the yoga and weights over 5 lbs. thank you!
  9. Perfect! Thank you for responding. I'm going to take it easy at first.
  10. I'll be 4 weeks post op this Friday. I've lost 23 pounds and I would like to start working out. I am currently walking only. My doctor said no heavy weight lifting until week 6 but what about crunches, elliptical, yoga?? Anyone know if it's ok at 4 weeks? I know I could be doing better and I really miss the gym. Thanks!
  11. Thank you for the advice everyone! I really appreciate it I just talked to the surgeon's office today and my pre-op appointment will be March 23rd and I will have surgery end of April. The soonest I could get in was beginning of March so no go with getting surgery before my trip. Now hopefully I can relax and enjoy the trip. My old self can go out with a bang in Europe. Thanks!
  12. Thanks everyone!! I think I'm probably going to wait and enjoy my trip instead of worrying about foods, etc. I really appreciate your responses!
  13. Hello everyone! I just got approved last Monday for sleeve surgery. I am going to Europe on March 29 for 2 1/2 weeks. What would you say the cutoff date is for my surgery? Or do you recommend waiting until I get back? My surgeon said 6-8 weeks recovery but I am worried about dumping, finding things I can eat/drink/etc. I will be doing a ton of walking which is good. I really don't want to wait until May to have surgery but I also don't want to be trying to find a bathroom every few minutes. Any problems with dumping or sickness? Thank you!
