  1. I was always about 15 pounds heavier than my class mates until I hit 15 then I maintained a weight of 115 until I hit 21 when I met my now husband and began working at home health care, all my then boyfriend and I would do was go out to eat, not to mention I became addicted to Dr. Pepper and loved running into gas stations for candy bars, by the time we got married I weight 210, I began dieting and had some success when I got pregnant with my 1st child, I had very bad high blood pressure problems and they put me on bed rest in my 7th months where I ballooned to 275 most of it was Fluid cause after I had the baby, I came down to 225, up and down my weigh t went for 4 years never getting below 200 pounds, I gave up and when I got pregnant a 2nd time I weighed 240, this pregnancy was different though I had gestational diabetes and had to go on a special diet, and wound up only weight 242 when I gave birth, after the birth I managed to get down to 199 and low and behold here came Laura, Again I had blood pressure issues and this time I was back up to 230 after having her via C-section, not long after having her I got a bulging disc in my back my weight began getting worse with 2 babies at one time I had serious post partum depression, it wasn't long till I was 275, I had given up literally. It wasn't until the babies were 3 and 4 did I attempt weight loss again getting down to 240 with the help of the Wii Fit, but it wouldn't last I just get overwhelmed with the amount I had to lose. This descion to have lapband is a last ditch effort I have scoped out three different places been to several seminars I finally just said I'm ready let's do this thing.
  2. Can you tolerate yogurt instead of the cottage cheese?
  3. Hang in there, I agree with the above posters, eat according to the phase you would be in at week 3, eat small healthy portions and practice not drinking with your meals, and exercise if you can Dec will be here before you know it. Also it wouldn't hurt to continue calling your surgeons office who knows someone might cancel, and squeaky wheels usually get oiled.
  4. My pre op diet consisted of 4 high Protein slim fasts every day for 4 weeks, I wasn't supposed to have any other type of food or anything, even sugar free Jello. I was allowed Crystal lite.
  5. Also my insurance stated I had to lose 5 percent of my weight so I guess my insurance wanted to make sure I was serious about it.
  6. You go girl, I am very sore right now but I'm using my treadmill 10 minutes at a time 4 times a day.
  7. The reason I really tried to lose weight on the 6 months doctor supervised diet is in reading it stated that the more weight you can get off before surgery, the better the surgery will go. Also your statement of if I could lose 60 pounds you wouldn't need surgery here is the thing I have gained and lost tons of weight since I was 21 years old so losing isn't hard for me, it's keeping it off. I lost 62 pounds but when I started I weighed 321, not only that I'm considered overweight at 124 poinds cause I'm so short.
  8. I just had my surgery so I will be having protein shakes, so that's easy planning for me.
  9. Where I go to the Doctor there were 5 of us all having surgery on Friday only one was a sleeve, so I think it's really what your comfortable with. I like the idea of not cutting out my stomach, but I support anyone else's choice to do the sleeve.
  10. I had my surgery Friday now enjoying broth and Jello. lol Everything went well, he even repaired a hiatal hernia for me. My next Drs visit is Dec 4th. I'm in a bit of pain mostly the left shoulder right now. Got my pain meds though.
  11. Tomorrow is my big day too they didn't call me till 1pm
  12. Went to Walgreens had no problems today
  13. That sounds awful but glad it went on through, at least you know the band works. ;0)
  14. They talked like they wanted it in my system when I arrived but you're right, maybe they could just give me one at the hospital.
  15. I love Sushi the day before my pre op diet I went Chinese.
  16. I am pretty new and don't know to many people on this site, but I'm thankful you started a post like this.
  17. Maybe it's the liquid diet, I don't know but the littlest things are getting under my skin, I have my surgery Friday. Today I went to fill a prescription they gave me it's a patch you put behind your ear the day of surgery so you don't get sick during surgery, it's for 1 patch, I go to CVS was told it would be an hour to fill it, I come back only to be told that I can't have just one because they won't break up a box that my surgeon needs to prescribe more, this irritates me as I don't need a whole box, and they wasted an hour of my time, I live 20 miles from a pharmacy so when I go to town, I'm stuck in town, so I go to a different pharmacy but they don't have it and said it would have to be ordered. Going to call my Dr. and see what I'm supposed to do and what pharmacy if any would give me the least amount of trouble.
  18. I used it once lost 30 pounds gained back 60. It does make you not want to eat, but it had an effect on me where I felt irritable all the time, my blood pressure elevated, It just didnt help me make a lifestyle change.
  19. Will you be able to get a fill after the bacteria is dealt with?
  20. Doc said the high Protein 25 carbs are fine. Not supposed to have more than that.
  21. Slim fast is on the recommended list, and is the most affordable for me 4 weeks of shakes add up.
  22. I bought a pair of 26 Lee Riders 2 months ago and thought that it was great to be out of a 28/30 now the pair of pants I bought are 4 sizes too big.
  23. Everyday but only count once a week, because as someone who is prone to retain Fluid I know that the scale fluctuates a lot throughout the day. I weigh in the morning just after using the bathroom and right before a shower.
  24. He said be active, I doubt he meant for you to run marathons, just not to lay in bed, try to get your Protein in, I haven't had the surgery yet, but that's pretty important.
  25. I know the purpose of the pre-op diet is to shrink the liver, but I am on the 4 week liquid slim fast diet and have only lost 13 pounds, during the 6 month physcian monitored diet I lost over 60 pounds, I'm afraid my surgeon will think I've not lost enough weight, although he didn't give me a specific amount to lose. My surgery in Friday I weigh in on Tuesday. Do you think maybe the liquid diet has slowed my metabolism?
