  1. Really helps to eat your Protein first, I know others have said this before me but truly fills you up, also eat until you think your full then, stop put the fork down wait,if still feel hungry then one or two more bites slowly, if not then stop knowing that you have reached the limit. I hope I don't sound like "know it all" it's just I have had the misfortune of being over filled and wouldn't wish this on anybody, so all us banders have the same challenge of finding out what the hell is FULL to us ,my Dr says that overweight people have no idea what it takes (food wise) to survive or what the body not the mind needs to feed it . I think he's right eh? Good luck and hang in there, blessings to you , Jan P

    Chromium Supliment

I find to stop sugar cravings have some protein.. good one is nuts such as almonds, not many try 3 or 4 chew really well, they are healthy even though calorie dense, this works for me and I'm a sugar junkie, also keeps one full longer too . Hope this helps, bless you all. Jan from down under ( Australia).

What are you eating in a day?

I was banded 13th Jan, have lost 16 kilo's, but have been losing very slowly the last few weeks averaging half a kilo a week. This was after my first fill and I seem to be able to eat most things without problems,I guess my expectations were for faster weight loss, now my portions and nutrition are great. Why , do you think this is ? Are we not eating enough perhaps ? All I know is in the past this would be the time I'd give up and say to hell with it, but now I'll battle on. A fellow bander said to me "just remember that every ounce is now gone forever " so I think of that when disappointed. Wishing you well and know that we are all facing our "demons" ( impatience is one of mine) you are not alone, with time we will succeed.... Jan P

Dr Tony Keirth and noticable ports

I was banded 13th of Feb and I had the same experience with my Port seeming to want to POP out felt spooky but now 6 weeks later it has gone in and seems to have turned . I went for my first fill today and Doc has had to send me to Radiology next week for the fill as it was too hard to locate. So I would'nt worry if I was you as things change and it's easier to go with the flow eh? Doc was pleased with my weight loss of 14 kilo's so far But I must say I was really expecting the kilo's to fall off and now it has slowed to a trickle even though I'm following the rules. Why is this and is it normal at this stage ? Keep smiling, Jan:lol:

    Optifast

I too was over Opti fast but it's a small price to pay I kept telling my self, also felt angry that I had created my situation by over eating in the first place! I was banded on the 13th Feb( 6 days ago) and am doing fine however am well and truly over only fluids but really I'm not hungry and you'd be surprised how inventive one can be!!! I really wish you well and remember this journey is for the rest of our lives a new and slim person lives within us if we give it everything this once and for all, I am so sick of being FAT. So bless you , WE can do IT!!!!

    G'day fellow Aussies

Hi all, my first time here , am enjoying this thread. I had my banding done 6 days ago in Coffs Harbour by a great surgeon who had me on the table for 3 hours struggling i think with all the adhesions from previous stomach stapling in 1979( never worked) but all went well and i am doing great having key hole. I am heavy gal BMI at 49 so open surgery would of been hell. Yesterday i walked for 20 minutes, but then had bad pains all night seems to be at port site i think, after getting up and walking around at 2am the pain subsided, thank god. Has anyone else had this and any ideas if happens again, kinda put me off today doing too much!
